Sysdig announced a $350 million Series G financing on December 15, 2021, at a round-time valuation of $2.5 billion. Those figures describe that financing—not Sysdig’s current valuation or financial status.
How much did Sysdig raise, and what was it valued at?
The company announced a $350 million Series G round at a $2.5 billion valuation. Sysdig said the financing brought its total funding to $744 million and more than doubled its valuation in eight months. These are terms and claims reported in the company’s December 15, 2021 announcement; they do not establish a current valuation.
Who invested in the Series G?
Permira’s growth fund led the round. Guggenheim Investments participated on behalf of select clients, alongside existing investors Accel, Bain Capital Ventures, DFJ Growth, Glynn Capital, Goldman Sachs, Insight Partners, Next47, Premji Invest & Associates, and Third Point Ventures.
What did Sysdig say it would do with the funding?
Sysdig said it intended to use the proceeds to expand in Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and South America; grow its partner program; invest in a unified multi-cloud security experience; and increase its workforce. The announcement said the company planned to double headcount in 2022. These were plans stated at the time, not confirmation that each was later completed.

What business was the financing supporting?
In the 2021 announcement, Sysdig described its platform as cloud and container security software for runtime threat detection and response, as well as the ongoing management of configurations, permissions, vulnerabilities, and compliance across containers, Kubernetes, and cloud services. The company identified open-source Falco and open-source Sysdig as platform foundations.
CEO Suresh Vasudevan also described the product’s expansion beyond runtime security into source-security capabilities, including vulnerability management, cloud security posture management, infrastructure-as-code security, and cloud infrastructure entitlements management. This is the company’s description of its offering at the time of the financing announcement.

The $2.5 billion figure is the valuation associated with the December 2021 Series G financing. It is not evidence of a present-day market value, a public-market price, or a guaranteed amount shareholders could realize in a sale. The cited announcement provides no current valuation or financial-status update.
In a statement accompanying the round, Vasudevan said the financing reflected investor conviction in Sysdig’s potential to become a leading cloud and container security platform. That is the CEO’s view, not an independent assessment of the company’s prospects. The release also quoted him describing demand for cloud security and Sysdig and Falco as rising rapidly; those remarks likewise represent the company’s characterization of its market.
