How much did Subaru prices increase?
Car and Driver reported that Subaru raised prices by $750 to $2,055 on most models. Auto123 separately reported the same range for American-produced Subaru vehicles; neither report establishes an exact increase for every model and trim.
The available reports do not provide a complete trim-by-trim table of the May changes. A buyer should compare the specific vehicle’s current manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) with its earlier price, and separately check the dealer’s actual offer. MSRP is not necessarily the transaction price.

These are reported exceptions, not a complete list of every unchanged trim. For a specific vehicle, verify the current MSRP and dealer quote rather than assuming every version of a model changed by the same amount.
When did the increase take effect?
The reports describe different points in the price change. Cars.com reported the adjustment on May 8, 2025, while Car and Driver said the higher prices applied to June deliveries. Those descriptions do not necessarily mean every vehicle ordered, built, or delivered on the same date was priced identically; confirm the price and terms for the particular transaction.

Did Subaru confirm the increases were caused by tariffs?
No. Reuters reported that Subaru explained the adjustment as a response to “current market conditions” and did not cite tariffs or specify individual price actions. Cars.com quoted Subaru of America director of corporate communications Dominick Infante saying, “Subaru of America has adjusted its pricing in response to current market conditions.”
Auto123 reported another statement Subaru made to Car and Driver: “The changes were made to offset increased costs while maintaining a strong value proposition for the customer.” That points to increased costs generally; it does not identify tariffs as the particular cause of the May retail price changes.

Tariff pressure is plausible context. Subaru Corporation’s annual report warns that tariffs on imported vehicles and parts could raise costs and consumer prices, while noting uncertainty about their eventual effect. That company-wide risk disclosure does not establish why Subaru made this specific U.S. price adjustment. The reviewed sources do not establish a Subaru-specific tariff cost figure for it.

What should a buyer check before agreeing to a price?
- Confirm the exact model year, trim, and options on the written quote.
- Ask the dealer for the vehicle’s MSRP and an itemized out-the-door price, including taxes, fees, and any dealer-added items.
- Compare offers for the same configuration. A reported MSRP increase does not by itself show how much a dealer will charge or whether a particular offer is competitive.
- For a vehicle tied to a May or June 2025 delivery, ask which price applies under the purchase agreement; the news reports do not determine the terms of an individual transaction.
