Is the TNPSC Group 2 application window still open?
Not for Notification No. 11/2025. TNPSC published that notice on 15 July 2025, and its online application deadline was 13 August 2025 at 11:59 p.m. The application correction window was 18–20 August 2025, and the preliminary examination was scheduled for 28 September 2025. The 2025 recruitment has since advanced beyond applications: TNPSC reported preliminary results published on 22 December 2025 and scheduled main written examinations in a January 2026 release; its archive also lists later certificate-verification and counselling notices. Check the TNPSC press release archive for notices and stage updates.
What does the 645-post figure refer to?
It is not the vacancy total shown for Group II in Notification No. 11/2025. That notice lists 50 Group II vacancies, with Group IIA vacancies tabulated separately. TNPSC’s archive associates a 645-vacancy release with Combined Civil Services Examination-IV (Group IV Services), a different examination. Do not treat 645 as the Group II/IIA total for the 2025 notice.
What about the newer 2026 Group II/IIA notification?
TNPSC’s archive lists a separate Combined Civil Services Examination-II (Group II and IIA Services) Notification No. 07/2026, published 11 August 2026. The archive entry establishes that the notice exists, but does not confirm its application deadline or vacancy count. Open the current TNPSC official press release page and the notification itself; use its dates, vacancy tables and any later addenda rather than carrying figures over from 2025.
How to verify the right recruitment notice
- Identify the notification number and date. Confirm that the notice is for Combined Civil Services Examination-II and specifies Group II and IIA services, rather than another TNPSC examination.
- Read the timetable in that notice. Check the application deadline, any correction window and exam dates. Do not assume a prior cycle’s schedule applies.
- Check the vacancy tables separately. Distinguish Group II vacancies from Group IIA vacancies and look for dated addenda before quoting a revised total.
- Review TNPSC’s archive for subsequent notices. Later examination, verification or counselling updates may show that a recruitment has moved past registration.
Use the notification as the preparation reference
For Notification No. 11/2025, TNPSC directed applicants to apply online and consult the notification and applicant instructions. Its annexures contain the examination scheme and syllabus. Candidates preparing for a current cycle should match study materials to the exact notification and the relevant Group II or IIA paper structure.
