Swansea City announced on 23 November 2024 that it had received EFL clearance for a change in majority ownership: Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt, Nigel Morris and Jason Cohen bought the remaining shares held by Steve Kaplan, Jason Levien, Jake Silverstein and their partners. The club said the incoming group and its partners would invest more than £20 million. That is the announced commitment, not proof of how much was ultimately spent. Later club and Companies House records add context, but do not establish who controls Swansea City today.
What changed in November 2024?
Swansea City’s 23 November 2024 announcement said the EFL had cleared the change in majority ownership. Coleman, Cravatt, Morris and Cohen acquired the remaining shares of Kaplan, Levien, Silverstein and their partners. The Supporters’ Trust separately said it had approved and signed off the transfer paperwork.
The club named new investors Jason Cohen, Tyler Morse, George Popstefanov and Chris Sznewajs as board members. In the same announcement, chairman Andy Coleman described the change as “an opportunity to reset and begin a new era for this great club.” The statement reflects his view at the time, rather than evidence of what the change later achieved.
What did the new group say it would do?
The club said the incoming group and partners would inject more than £20 million to support operating costs and strategic investment in the first team. It also set out intentions to develop the Swansea Way, use data-led decisions, align the first team with the Academy, support women’s and girls’ football, and grow commercial revenue. These were stated priorities and plans; the announcement does not verify the amount ultimately deployed or whether the planned outcomes followed.

What did the Supporters’ Trust say?
In its 23 November 2024 statement, the Trust said its protected shareholding and rights would not be affected. It also described an additional permanent Trust director position, subject to the relevant approval process. The Trust said Levien, Silverstein and Bobby Heinreich would leave the board.
The Trust’s statement also discussed club finances and the Profit and Sustainability Rules, referring at the time to a £39 million loss limit over three years. That was the Trust’s description of the rules in November 2024, not a current confirmation of league requirements.

What did Swansea confirm in 2025?
On 3 April 2025, Cravatt and Cohen said the incoming group had attained a controlling stake following the November share acquisition. Their club update also outlined subsequent leadership and operational changes. It confirms the group’s position after the transaction, but is not a current ownership filing.

The available dated records do not establish the club’s controlling ownership as of October 2026. Companies House filing histories for Swansea City Football Club Limited and Swansea City Association Football Club Limited show later corporate events. They record Kaplan and Levien ceasing to be persons with significant control on 22 November 2024, and Coleman ceasing to be a person with significant control on 30 May 2025. Those entries do not, by themselves, identify the present controlling ownership structure.
