That was a dated listing—not a current quote or a typical New Year’s Eve rate. For 31 December 2026, the hotel lists separate dining events, while the City of Perth plans fireworks at Elizabeth Quay at 8:30pm and midnight.
What the A$10,599 price covered—and what it did not establish
PerthNow reporter Chloe Maher reported on 31 December 2024 that a one-night stay for two guests at The Ritz-Carlton, Perth, that evening was listed at A$10,599. The report does not identify that New Year’s Eve room as the hotel’s largest suite, and the figure should not be treated as the hotel’s current price or its usual rate for the holiday. PerthNow’s report also cited weekend Guest Room rates starting at A$769 per night and a separate A$9,974 rate for a mid-January Friday in an Elizabeth Quay river-view suite.

The suite comparison was a different stay
The A$9,974 comparison was for a mid-January Friday, not the New Year’s Eve listing. PerthNow described that 277-square-metre suite as the hotel’s most expensive room on offer, with an open balcony, sunset view, dining area, separate living room and marble bathroom. Those details do not establish the room category or view attached to the A$10,599 listing.
What is planned for New Year’s Eve 2026 in Perth
The City of Perth’s 2026–2027 Events Plan schedules the 31 December 2026 celebration at Elizabeth Quay, Barrack Square and Supreme Court Gardens. It lists a family-friendly fireworks display at 8:30pm and another at midnight, and describes 2026 as the event’s third year.

The City’s January 2026 report says around 130,000 revellers attended in and around the CBD for New Year’s Eve 2025, which included displays at 8:30pm and midnight. That is a citywide attendance estimate, not a count of hotel guests or people with a confirmed view from a particular room. The City’s report quotes Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds describing the 2025 celebrations as “an amazing way to farewell 2025 and ring in what we all hope is a fulfilling, successful and safe 2026.”
Hotel-listed New Year’s Eve dining events are separate from room rates
The Ritz-Carlton, Perth lists two ways to celebrate on 31 December 2026. These are dining-event prices, not accommodation prices; they should not be compared with a room rate as if the offers included the same things. The hotel’s Songbird and Hearth event listings provide the details.

The hotel is on Elizabeth Quay. Marriott describes its Perth property as having 205 guest rooms and suites overlooking the river, skyline and urban parks, but that general description does not guarantee that a specific room has a direct fireworks view.
