Galpin Motors did sell Spyker vehicles in California, but the headline refers to a historical dealership relationship—not a confirmed current announcement or a guarantee that a Spyker is available today.
What the headline means
Galpin added Spyker to its Premier Collection, with reporting describing an exclusive showroom in Van Nuys. CarThrottle reported the announcement and attributed a statement about Spyker’s engineering to Galpin Motors vice-president Beau Boeckmann. The date metadata on that report is unclear, but a Los Angeles Times profile published July 11, 2010 independently listed Spyker among Galpin’s vehicle franchises.
CarThrottle rendered Boeckmann’s reported comment as: “In a world of cost-cutting and intensive use of plastics in automobiles, Spyker is a no- excuses automobile where every component is engineered to aircraft-type standards with jewel-like quality.” This is a statement attributed by that outlet, not a verified transcript.
Was a Spyker available through Galpin more recently?
On September 24, 2024, duPont REGISTRY News reported that a 2009 Spyker C8 Spyder was offered for sale at Galpin Lotus Beverly Hills. That report establishes a dated offering, not current availability.

Galpin Lotus’s current inventory filter for a 2009 C8 Spyder shows no matching vehicle for that specific query. A filtered no-match result does not rule out a different model year, a listing elsewhere, or a change in the inventory feed. Galpin’s current corporate and used-inventory pages also do not, by themselves, confirm an active Spyker franchise or a referral arrangement.

How to check before pursuing a car
- Ask Galpin Lotus whether the particular car is still for sale and request its current listing or stock details.
- Confirm the model year, location, and whether the vehicle is a used collectible; the 2024 report concerned one 2009 C8 Spyder.
- Do not assume a historical franchise listing means Galpin currently sells new Spyker vehicles or has other Spyker inventory.
