Sony said in its August 2025 announcement that PS5 accessory recommended prices were unchanged at that time. The March 2026 announcement covered PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal remote player as part of global price changes, but those statements do not establish that every accessory had a price change.

In August 2025, Isabelle Tomatis, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s vice president of global marketing, cited “a challenging economic environment.” In March 2026, she cited “continued pressures in the global economic landscape.” Neither announcement quantified the causes or attributed the increases to a specific factor, so claims about tariffs, inflation, component costs, or other individual drivers are not established by Sony’s notices.
