Those are changes for that historical session, not current prices; the article reported gains, not final dollar-per-bushel settlement prices.
What soybean futures did on May 26, 2022
In its May 26, 2022 market recap, Successful Farming said soybean futures moved from negative territory early in the session to solid gains by midday, then gave back part of those intraday gains while remaining higher at the close.

These are the changes reported by Successful Farming in 2022, rather than final prices or independently verified exchange data. The larger July soybean gain, compared with November’s reported gain, describes this session only.

- Disease-Smart Cultivation: edamame seeds to plant resist common pests when grown in full sun and evenly moist soil; gardening kit growers mulch to conserve water and pick bright green pods before they yellow.
The article linked the early move into positive territory to trader interest in old-crop soybean sales following a weekly Export Sales report that had no major surprises. That is the article’s explanation of the day’s activity, not proof that this factor alone caused the price movement.
What the rest of the markets did
The soybean strength did not carry through to every related market at the close. Successful Farming said corn finished lower, wheat was mixed—with CBOT and Kansas City wheat down and spring wheat higher—and livestock contracts also moved in different directions. Feeder cattle were down $1.15, live cattle were up 25 cents, and lean hogs were up between $2.22 and $3.82 depending on the contract. July crude oil peaked just short of $115, according to the article.

How to read this historical market recap
- Keep the date attached: The report describes the May 26, 2022 trading session, not the current soybean market.
- Distinguish the contracts: July and November refer to different delivery months, and their reported changes were not identical.
- Do not infer a settlement price: The article gives price changes, not final dollar-per-bushel soybean prices.
- Treat the explanation as commentary: The old-crop sales discussion is the author’s account of market interest, not independently established causation.
Futures trading risk
Successful Farming’s editor’s note states: “The risk of loss in trading futures and/or options is substantial.” A strong close in one historical session is not a forecast or a guarantee of future results; the article also cautions that past performance does not indicate future results.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- HEIRLOOM VARIETY & HIGH YIELD: Outsidepride soy bean seeds is a robust heirloom strain known for its high yield, producing over 3 bushels per acre more than the popular Manokin variety, making it a valuable choice for maximizing harvest output. This variety is perfect for outdoor gardening enthusiasts looking to optimize their yard space.
- RICH IN PROTEIN & OIL WITH VERSATILE USES: Containing about 18% oil and 38% protein, this soybean variety is perfect for producing high-quality soy bean oil and protein-rich meal. These soybeans can be processed into a wide range of products, including soy milk powder, soy flour, soy protein, tofu, and various industrial non-food products, showcasing its versatility. Ideal for making various soy-based meals such as edamame snacks.
- OPTIMAL PLANTING GUIDELINES FOR MAXIMUM YIELD: For best results, plant soybean seeds at a depth of 0.75 to 1.5 inches, with row spacing between 7.5 and 15 inches, depending on soil type and tillage. This ensures uniform seed placement and optimal growth, adapting well to midwestern states and capturing a significant percentage of non-GMO acres.
- HIGH-PROTEIN ANIMAL FEED: The high-protein fiber left after oil extraction is ideal for animal feed, particularly for poultry and swine industries, which consume over half of the processed soybean meal. This meal is also crucial for cattle, other farm animals, and pets, ensuring they receive the necessary nutrients for growth and development. A great addition to feed mixes for cowpeas and other legumes.
- ECONOMIC AND NUTRITIONAL: As the most economically important bean globally, soybeans provide essential vegetable protein for millions and are key ingredients in hundreds of chemical products. A 60-pound bushel of our soybeans seed yields about 11 pounds of crude soybean oil and 47 pounds of soybean meal. Beneficial for producing shelf-stable goods for long-term use.
