T’way Air completed its rebrand and began operating as Trinity Airways on September 10, 2026. The airline says existing bookings remain valid, the TW code and flight numbers are unchanged, and tickets issued before the change may still display T’way Air.
When did T’way Air become Trinity Airways?
The change took effect on September 10, 2026, when the airline began operating as Trinity Airways. The transition followed several distinct steps: shareholders approved the corporate name change on March 31, South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport issued a domestic name-change license on May 15, and the airline later announced its September 10 operating start after required approvals were completed. Yonhap News Agency reported on August 6, 2026, that the rebrand followed Sono Trinity Group’s acquisition of a 46 percent stake in the airline, making it the largest shareholder. Yonhap said the acquisition was completed in February 2025 for 250 billion won (US$176.4 million) and described the rebrand as the airline’s first name change in 16 years. Those figures refer to the reported share acquisition, not the cost of the rebrand. Yonhap News Agency report.
