ShibaSwap is a wallet-connected decentralized exchange in the Shiba Inu ecosystem. It lets users swap tokens and provide liquidity on-chain. Its v1 uses a conventional automated market maker with LP tokens; v2 uses concentrated liquidity, where each position is an NFT tied to a price range. Before interacting, verify the live network and deployed contracts: official ShibaSwap documentation reviewed on October 8, 2026 gives conflicting accounts of v2’s network availability.

What is ShibaSwap?

ShibaSwap is an on-chain exchange: instead of placing a trade through a centralized exchange account, a user connects a Web3 wallet and approves transactions on the relevant blockchain. The official documentation describes token swaps and liquidity provision, with different mechanics in v1 and v2. [official documentation]

That means the wallet, network, token contract address, and transaction details are essential parts of using the service—not minor setup details. A transaction can have network fees, and a confirmed on-chain transaction may not be reversible through a customer-service process.

How do ShibaSwap v1 and v2 differ?

The two versions use different ways to allocate and represent liquidity. The official comparison describes v1’s fixed 0.3% swap fee and v2’s multiple fee tiers; these describe the documented fee models, not a prediction of what any user will earn.

Feature V1 V2
Liquidity model Liquidity is spread across the pool’s full price range. Concentrated liquidity is assigned to a price range chosen for the position.
Position representation Liquidity providers receive LP tokens representing their share. Each range-specific position is represented by an NFT.
Documented swap-fee model Fixed 0.3%, according to the official guide. Multiple fee tiers, according to the official overview.
Management needs LP tokens represent the pool share. Providers need to monitor the selected range; the position stops earning fees while out of range.

Concentrating liquidity gives a provider more control over where funds are used, but adds position-management work. It does not establish that v2 will produce higher returns: results depend on pool conditions, prices, fees, and transaction costs.

How does concentrated liquidity work?

In v2, a provider selects a price range for a liquidity position. The position can earn swap fees while the market price is within that range and the liquidity is active. If price moves outside the range, the position no longer earns fees until it becomes active again. The value of the deposited assets can also change relative to simply holding them, creating impermanent-loss risk.

Fees are not guaranteed profit. Price movement, impermanent loss, and gas costs can outweigh fee income; rebalancing or removing liquidity can add transactions and fees. Do not treat a displayed fee rate or reward description as a promised return.

How to check before swapping

  1. Confirm the current official interface and network. Documentation accessed October 8, 2026 is inconsistent about v2 availability: the getting-started page describes v1 and v2 on Ethereum and Shibarium, while the v2 overview calls Shibarium the primary network and Ethereum a possible future deployment. Do not infer a definitive deployment map from those pages alone; verify the live official interface and network before connecting or signing.
  2. Connect a wallet you control. The official guide names MetaMask and WalletConnect. Confirm that the wallet is set to the intended network.
  3. Verify the token contract address. Check it against a current official source for the selected network. A token name or ticker alone is not enough to establish that you have selected the intended asset.
  4. Review the swap settings and transaction. Check the amount, quoted output, slippage tolerance, and all transaction details before approving. Slippage means the final execution can differ from the displayed quote as prices move or liquidity changes.
  5. Account for network fees. Gas is separate from the swap amount and can affect whether a small trade is worthwhile. Review the wallet’s transaction prompt before signing.

What should liquidity providers weigh?

  • Price risk: the value of pool assets can move, and liquidity provision can perform differently from holding the same tokens.
  • Range risk in v2: an out-of-range position does not earn fees while inactive, and may need monitoring or adjustment.
  • Transaction costs: providing, adjusting, or withdrawing liquidity requires on-chain transactions that can incur gas.
  • Contract risk: smart-contract vulnerabilities can put funds at risk, independently of market performance.

Assess a position using current pool-level information and your own assumptions rather than a generic fee claim. The reviewed official materials do not provide a basis for comparing expected returns between v1 and v2.

Is ShibaSwap staking live?

The official Bury 2.0 guide describes staking as beta and currently used for voting power, with rewards intended for a future release. It also states a maximum lock of four years and a 30% penalty for early withdrawal. Because these terms can change, verify the current official interface and its displayed conditions before locking tokens; do not assume rewards are available or guaranteed.

What do the security claims establish?

The official v2 overview says the contracts are not open source and mentions an audit process. The reviewed page does not link a report identifying an auditor, date, scope, or findings. That general statement is not enough to establish that an independent audit has been completed or to assess what it covered. Smart-contract risk remains relevant even when a product describes an audit process.
