Historical notice: The application deadline for SSC GD Constable 2022 was 30 November 2022 at 23:00. That deadline has passed, and the Staff Selection Commission’s application page now marks the 2022 application inactive, so candidates cannot apply through it today.

Was the SSC GD Constable 2022 application deadline tomorrow?

For an announcement published on 29 November 2022, yes: applications closed the following day, 30 November 2022, at 23:00. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) had opened the online application window on 27 October 2022. The deadline was for submitting the application, not for paying the fee.

Application and fee-payment deadlines

Requirement Deadline in the 2022 notice
Submit online application 30 November 2022 at 23:00
Pay fee online 1 December 2022 at 23:00
Pay fee by challan 1 December 2022, during bank working hours

These dates were specified in the SSC recruitment notice; the Government of India’s Press Information Bureau summary, published 28 October 2022, also confirmed the application and fee deadlines.

How many vacancies were reported?

The “45,000+” figure referred to a reported revised total of 45,284 vacancies. Hindustan Times reported that revised count on 29 November 2022. SSC’s vacancies portal indexes a tentative-vacancies file dated 20 March 2023, but the reported 45,284 total should not be treated as a figure verified from that file’s table here.

The recruitment covered Constable (GD) posts in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and SSF; Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles; and Sepoy in NCB. The original notice described the posts and recruitment as part of the 2022 examination.

What was the selection process?

SSC’s notice set out four recruitment stages:

  1. Computer-based examination (CBE)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test (PET/PST)
  3. Medical examination
  4. Document verification

The notice gave January 2023 as the tentative schedule for the CBE. That was the schedule published at the time, not confirmation of the date on which the examination ultimately took place.

Can you still apply through the old link?

No. SSC’s official application page lists the 2022 application as inactive. The “apply now” wording belonged to the November 2022 deadline announcement; it is not a current application instruction.
