STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM) closed at $56.18 on October 7, 2026, down $2.54, or 4.33%, for the session. That is the latest completed-session price established here—not a verified live quote for October 8. The figures are in U.S. dollars; check a live quote feed or your broker for an execution-time price.

STM stock price today: latest NYSE close

The latest available completed session in the cited price history is Wednesday, October 7, 2026. The data provider, StockAnalysis, reports the following for NYSE: STM in U.S. dollars: historical price data.

Change from prior close −$2.54 (−4.33%)
Open $55.24
High $56.65

Which STMicroelectronics listing does STM refer to?

STM is STMicroelectronics N.V.’s ticker on the New York Stock Exchange. The company also lists its common shares on Euronext Paris and Euronext Milan, as described in its investor-relations FAQ. A quote can differ by venue, currency, and timing. When comparing listings, identify the exchange and currency rather than comparing nominal prices alone.

For a U.S. listing, “NYSE: STM” and “STM stock price in USD” specify the venue and currency. A European listing may show a different currency and session time. “Today” also depends on the reader’s time zone and whether that exchange is open.

What is behind the stock-price context?

A single-session move does not establish why the shares rose or fell, nor does it predict what they will do next. No verified explanation for the October 7 decline is available here, so it should not be attributed to a company announcement, earnings, semiconductor demand, or analyst action without evidence.

One useful context is the company’s latest reported quarter. STMicroelectronics said Q2 2026 revenue grew 26% year over year. Its investor-relations site describes the business as serving electronics applications, with strategy focused on Smart Mobility, Power & Energy, and Cloud-connected Autonomous Things: STMicroelectronics Investor Relations.

These figures are U.S. GAAP. The same release also gives a non-U.S. GAAP gross margin of 35.2%; it is a separate measure and should not be substituted for or combined with the 34.8% U.S. GAAP figure. See the Q2 2026 results release.

Management’s Q3 2026 outlook

In that release, the company’s midpoint outlook for Q3 2026 was revenue of $3.70 billion and gross margin of 37.0%. Those are management’s expectations, not reported Q3 results. STMicroelectronics President and CEO Jean-Marc Chery said in the July 23, 2026 release that demand had increased during the quarter, bookings were strong across end markets, visibility had improved, and distribution inventory was below the company’s standard target. That is management’s characterization of the quarter, not an independent measure of the broader market.

  • Exchange and ticker, such as NYSE: STM.
  • Currency and the quote’s date, time, and time zone.
  • Whether the quote is live or delayed.
  • Price, session change, trading range, and volume.
  • The period being compared, such as intraday versus prior close.

For investment analysis, keep that dated price performance separate from company fundamentals. Compare it with reported results and clearly labeled guidance; a share price by itself is not a valuation conclusion or a forecast.
