The Supreme Court of India (SCI) scheduled the Junior Court Assistant (JCA) 2025 Phase I objective test for 13 April 2025. The English descriptive test followed on 1 August 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Delhi/NCR centres only. Both dates have passed. For the latest JCA cycle, check the SCI recruitment page and the notices and admit-card details issued for your own application.

The Phase I date was stated in the Recruitment Cell’s 27 March notice: “Phase- I examination i.e. Objective Type Written Test (Multiple Choice Question) of Junior Court Assistant Examination-2025 is scheduled to be held on 13.04.2025 (Sunday).” The announcement and subsequent schedule notices are historical; they are not dates for a new examination cycle.

What stages were included in the 2025 selection process?

SCI’s advertisement dated 4 February 2025 set out these stages, subject to its qualification and shortlisting conditions:

  1. Objective written paper: 100 questions over two hours: 50 General English questions, including comprehension, 25 General Aptitude questions and 25 General Knowledge questions.
  2. Computer Knowledge Test: 25 objective questions.
  3. English typing test: A minimum speed of 35 words per minute on a computer, with up to 3% of the total words typed permitted as mistakes; the test lasted ten minutes.
  4. Descriptive English test: Comprehension passage, precis writing and essay writing in a two-hour test.
  5. Interview: For candidates qualifying the preceding tests, under the advertisement’s stated conditions.

The advertisement invited applications for 241 vacancies and described the post as Group B, non-gazetted, at Level 6 of the pay matrix. It also listed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and computer knowledge among the essential qualifications, and specified an age range of 18–30 years as of 8 March 2025, subject to listed relaxations. These are details of the 2025 advertisement only; check the current cycle’s own notice rather than assuming its vacancies, eligibility or stages are unchanged. SCI recruitment archive

Where to check a current JCA schedule or candidate-specific details

SCI’s recruitment index lists JCA 2026 material as well as historical 2025 notices. Use that index to find the latest cycle’s schedule, results and official updates, and confirm any centre allocation, interview schedule or result against SCI’s publication. Supreme Court of India Recruitment

For the 2025 process, SCI said schedule information would also be sent to candidates’ registered mobile number and email. Admit cards were not to be sent by post; candidates were instructed to download them from the SCI website. The 2 April 2025 notice also said requests to change the allotted Phase I exam city or centre would not be entertained.

What happened after the 2025 descriptive test?

SCI published the descriptive-test result on 4 September 2025. The result notice said candidates who scored 55 or more were required to appear for interview in a 1:3 ratio, subject to availability of candidates qualified under the tests. This is a completed, historical result update, not a current interview call. Check SCI’s official recruitment index for the relevant cycle’s result notice.

How to interpret the December 2024 hold notice

SCI had announced on 24 December 2024 that the then-fresh JCA recruitment process was put on hold until further orders. That notice came before the 4 February 2025 advertisement and the later examination notices. It should not be read as evidence that the 2025 recruitment remained suspended.
