What happened to the 2,600-post SBI CBO recruitment?
SBI Advertisement No. CRPD/CBO/2025-26/03 invited applications for Circle Based Officers and listed 2,600 vacancies. The notice described those vacancies as provisional and subject to change based on the bank’s actual requirements. Its application dates—9 May to 29 May 2025—have passed.
SBI’s Careers listing later said the online examination was tentatively scheduled for 20 July 2025. That is a historical schedule, not a current exam date or evidence of an active application window.
Where to check for a current application link
Use SBI’s official Current Openings page to see whether the bank has published a newer CBO recruitment notice. SBI’s cited advertisement directs candidates to review the notice and eligibility criteria and says updates or corrigenda are hosted on the bank’s Careers page. Do not rely on an old application link as though it were open.

What the 2025–26 notice required
Registration and fee payment
The notice set 29 May 2025 as the last date for registration and fee payment. It said registration was complete only after the fee had been deposited online by the deadline. That requirement applied to the 2025–26 cycle; it is not an instruction to submit payment now.
Circle and local-language choice
Candidates could apply for one circle only and were expected to know a specified local language for that circle. Applicants were considered against vacancies in the circle they selected. Anyone considering a future notice should read its circle-specific requirements rather than assume the 2025–26 rules automatically carry over.

The 2025–26 notice described four stages: online examination, screening, interview, and local-language proficiency test. These are the stages in that notice, not a guarantee that a later recruitment cycle will use the same process.
