Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The $499 Ryzen 9 7950X3D offer in the headline was reported by HotHardware on June 10, 2024—not a price verified for today. HotHardware called it the chip’s cheapest price to that point, but price trackers use different retailer coverage and tracking windows, so the available evidence does not establish one universal “lowest ever” record. Treat the other prices in that article the same way: as dated deal history, not current offers.
What did the original gaming CPU deals cost?
HotHardware’s June 10, 2024 article reported these prices. They are historical figures and do not confirm current price or stock.
| Processor or bundle | Price reported June 10, 2024 | What the article said |
|---|---|---|
| Ryzen 9 7950X3D | $499 at Amazon | Described as its cheapest price to date, compared with a $699 launch MSRP |
| Ryzen 9 7900X3D | $329 | Described as an all-time low |
| Ryzen 7 7800X3D | $339.99 | Discounted offer |
| Ryzen 7 5800X3D | $323.73 | Discounted offer |
| Ryzen 7 5700X3D | $199.98 | Discounted offer |
| Ryzen 7 5800X3D with MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus motherboard | $399.98 | Bundle offer |
The article connected the discounts to AMD’s announcement of its Zen 5 Ryzen 9000 generation, which was expected the following month. That was the context for the June 2024 deals, not a guarantee that a new product launch will produce similar savings now. HotHardware’s original article has the dated offer details.
Is the 7950X3D at its lowest price ever?
There is no well-supported universal answer. HotHardware characterized the $499 Amazon offer as the 7950X3D’s cheapest price to that date in June 2024. Later tracker figures vary: TechSpot reported a $569 current price on October 7, 2026, and a $569 tracked low on October 2, 2026. Other trackers list lower historical figures, including $399 records on The Deals Tracker and a $472 lowest-ever index figure at Tom’s Hardware. These numbers are not directly interchangeable: each tracker can cover different sellers, periods and price records.

For a purchase decision, check the exact retailer listing and its current stock, then compare the price-history chart from the same tracker and retailer. State the tracker and date when quoting a record; “lowest ever” without that scope can be misleading. The TechSpot figures are reported in its CPU price tracking; The Deals Tracker and Tom’s Hardware provide separate records in their price tracker and CPU price index.
What does the Ryzen 9 7950X3D offer?
AMD lists the 7950X3D as a Zen 4 desktop CPU with 16 cores, 32 threads, a 4.2 GHz base clock and boost clock up to 5.7 GHz. It has 128 MB of L3 cache and a 120 W default TDP. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent gaming benchmark results. See AMD’s product specifications.

- Max. Boost Clock : Up to 5.7 GHz; Base Clock: 4.3 GHz

- Architecture: Zen 5; Former Codename: Granite Ridge AM5
Its core count and cache configuration may make it relevant to someone weighing gaming alongside creator or other multithreaded workloads. But the supplied price and specification records do not provide a controlled, same-date benchmark comparison against the other processors in the 2024 deal list. Do not infer a numerical performance ranking from deal prices or core counts alone.
Compare total platform cost, not only CPU prices
The CPUs in the 2024 list do not all use the same platform. Ryzen 7000 models such as the 7950X3D, 7900X3D and 7800X3D require an AM5 motherboard and DDR5 memory. The Ryzen 5000 models listed—the 5800X3D and 5700X3D—use AM4 and DDR4. For an existing system, motherboard and memory compatibility can make a lower-priced processor the more economical upgrade; for a new build, compare the whole platform rather than the CPU line alone.

- Powerful Content Creation and Game Performance
- 16 Cores and 32 processing threads, based on AMD "Zen 3" architecture
- 4.8 GHz Max Boost, unlocked for overclocking, 72 MB cache, DDR4-3200 support
- For the AMD Socket AM4 platform, with PCIe 4.0 support
- Cooler not included
AMD says the 7950X3D supports DDR5, PCIe 5.0 and listed AM5 chipsets. Its boxed product does not include a thermal solution, and AMD recommends liquid cooling for optimal performance. Include a compatible cooler in the build budget if you do not already have one. Full details are on AMD’s official specification page.

- Verify the live listing. Confirm the exact processor model, seller, price and stock at checkout; historical deal coverage cannot confirm today’s availability.
- Put the price in context. Check a dated price-history record for the same seller or tracker scope rather than relying on an unqualified “all-time low” claim.
- Calculate the system cost. Add an AM5 motherboard, DDR5 memory and a suitable cooler if your current parts are not compatible or available for reuse.
- Match the chip to your workload. Consider whether you need the 16-core, 32-thread specification for mixed work as well as gaming, and seek comparable independent benchmarks for the specific games and applications you use.
AMD’s store page showed $669 and out of stock when crawled about three weeks before the research date; that stale listing is not a current purchase quote. Check retailer listings directly before buying.
