Labour Temple turns Seattle’s former Labor Temple into a working coworking and office venue, pairing preserved historic features with options ranging from day access to private team suites. Its listed prices and amenities make it possible to compare those options by how often you need a workspace, how much privacy you want, and whether meeting-room credits matter.
What makes Labour Temple distinctive?
At 2800 1st Avenue in Belltown, Labour Temple occupies the former Seattle Labor Temple, designated a City Landmark in 2008. Historic Seattle describes the building as significant to local labor history and a focal point for union organizing and activity in the county. It was also the last large functioning labor hall in Belltown, according to Historic Seattle.
After labor groups moved farther from the neighborhood and the building faced deferred maintenance, the Seattle Labor Temple Association considered restoration or sale. Historic Seattle says FAUL purchased the original south building in December 2020; the north addition was sold to a church. The building welcomed its first office tenants in 2022 and reopened as Labour Temple that year.
The rehabilitation retained or repaired the brick and terra cotta façade, original steel windows, mahogany office doors, Labor Temple signs, historic lobby, offices and corridors. It also added building-system upgrades, activated the courtyard and created a rooftop terrace. Historic Seattle recognized the project with its 2023 Best Preservation Project Award, saying the transformation had given the landmark “a new lease on life.” That is a preservation assessment, not a comparative test of coworking services.

What amenities are available?
The venue lists high-speed Wi-Fi, phone booths, lounge areas, courtyard access, coffee and tea, mail services, meeting rooms and event spaces. The membership page also lists shared work areas, social events, a fitness room, showers, sauna, bike parking and snacks. Office listings include concierge service and discounted meeting and event space. Check the relevant plan for which amenities are included rather than assuming every feature is part of every option.
Labour Temple advertises event capacity for groups up to 350 on its homepage. That is an operator-stated capacity; event suitability depends on the room, format and current booking details. The venue also says it participates in Belltown Art Walk.

How to choose based on total cost
- Estimate days onsite. If you expect no more than five full days in a month, compare the $100 Startup plan with the day-pass rate shown at checkout. For more frequent weekday visits, the $300 All Access plan may be more practical.
- Account for meeting rooms. All Access includes $300 in monthly meeting-room credits. Their value depends on your booking habits and the venue’s current room rates and credit terms.
- Separate address needs from desk needs. Virtual Office is listed at $30 a month, but its stated payment schedule includes a prorated initial month followed by $360 for the next 12 months. Check the current checkout total and service terms.
- Price privacy by team size. The listed starting rates distinguish a dedicated desk, offices for teams up to seven, and suites for eight to 24. “From” prices are starting rates, not guaranteed quotes for every space or availability.
- Ask what is included before committing. Confirm taxes or other charges, access hours, meeting-room credits, mail handling, minimum commitment, and current availability directly with the venue.
Is it objectively setting a new standard?
The documented case for Labour Temple’s distinction is its combination of a landmark labor-history setting, retained historic details, a courtyard and rooftop terrace, and multiple workspace formats. The available evidence does not establish that its rates, service or performance outperform other Seattle coworking spaces. Treat “new standards” as a description of the revitalization and its range of offerings, not a measured market ranking.
