What is DRAL?
DRAL stands for Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited, a joint venture between Dassault Aviation and Reliance Aerostructure Limited (RAL). Reliance Group announced the venture on 27 October 2017, describing it as a 51:49 partnership between RAL and Dassault Aviation. What did the June 2025 agreement change?
On 18 June 2025, Dassault Aviation and RAL announced an agreement for DRAL to manufacture Falcon 2000 LXS business jets in India for global markets. Dassault also said DRAL would take on Falcon 2000 wing work and complete fuselage assembly, as well as front-section work for the Falcon 6X and Falcon 8X. The announcement described DRAL as set to become the first Falcon Center of Excellence outside France. Dassault CEO Éric Trappier said the agreement would “eventually enable the establishment of a final assembly line for the Falcon 2000.” That is a stated future plan, not confirmation that the final assembly line is already operating. How did DRAL’s ownership change?
The original arrangement gave RAL a 51% stake and Dassault Aviation 49%. On 5 September 2025, Reliance Infrastructure disclosed that RAL had transferred 2% of DRAL shares to Dassault Aviation. At the time of that disclosure, the filing described the ownership before the transfer as 51% for RAL and 49% for Dassault. Reliance Infrastructure investor announcements
Dassault Aviation’s 2025 annual report subsequently reported that it owned 51% of DRAL. The available company disclosures establish the reported change in majority ownership, but do not establish the exact effective date of the transfer that resulted in the 51% position.
