RBC customers with an eligible linked card can earn 3× Canadian Tire Money on qualifying purchases at Canadian Tire and designated Canadian Tire Corporation partner locations. Eligible Avion Rewards members can also convert Avion points into Canadian Tire Money at a set rate. You need a Triangle Rewards account, and the checkout steps and conversion limits matter.
What the RBC–Canadian Tire partnership offers
Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) and RBC announced the partnership on March 27, 2025, and launched it on January 13, 2026. It connects RBC’s Avion Rewards with CTC’s Triangle Rewards in two ways: an eligible RBC card can earn extra Canadian Tire Money when used with a Triangle account, and eligible Avion members can convert points into Canadian Tire Money. The companies said Triangle had nearly 12 million members at launch; that is CTC’s reported figure.

The offer applies to qualifying purchases at Canadian Tire and designated CTC partner locations. The launch announcement named SportChek and Mark’s as examples, but the current terms govern the full list of participating locations and eligible items. It is not an offer for purchases at arbitrary retailers.
Who can participate
You need an eligible RBC debit or credit card, RBC Online Banking enrollment, and a Triangle Rewards account linked to that card. Not every RBC card is necessarily eligible; check the current eligible-card list in the official program terms. The stated requirements do not mean you must apply for a new RBC card or get a Triangle Mastercard.

How to link your RBC card
- Join Triangle Rewards if you do not already have an account.
- Open the Avion Rewards and Triangle linking page, or sign in to RBC Online Banking.
- Choose an eligible RBC card and select “Link or update Triangle Rewards.” Follow the prompts to connect it to your Triangle account.
How to earn 3× Canadian Tire Money at checkout
- At a participating location, present or scan the Triangle Rewards account linked to your RBC card. Use a cardless method only if the program terms permit it.
- Pay for the qualifying purchase with that linked RBC card.
Both parts matter: the purchase must qualify, and you must identify your Triangle account and pay with the linked card. The current Avion disclosure describes 3× as three times Triangle’s 0.4% base earn rate, or 1.2% of the qualifying purchase amount before tax. This is a Canadian Tire Money earn rate, not an extra Avion points award. Bonus or promotional offers are separate and may have their own terms. Canadian Tire Money earned on a purchase cannot be redeemed against that same transaction.
Converting Avion points to Canadian Tire Money
Eligible linked Avion members can convert Avion points at a rate of 140 points for $1 in Canadian Tire Money. The current program disclosure sets these limits:
- Minimum conversion: 140 Avion points.
- Daily maximum: 25,000 Avion points.
- Rounding: the resulting Canadian Tire Money is rounded down to the nearest cent.
- Direction: conversion is one way; completed conversions cannot be reversed into Avion points.
The program describes converted Canadian Tire Money as posting immediately. Once converted, it is governed by Triangle Rewards terms, including the applicable expiry rules. Review those terms before converting points you may prefer to keep in Avion.
What linking means for your data
RBC and CTC say the linked program may share card and loyalty account identifiers, points balances, transaction history, and point-of-sale transaction information to administer rewards and benefits. Check the current terms and privacy information if you want details about how participation affects your account data.

- To access your card information safely, type the complete website address shown on your Gift Card (MyGift.GiftCardMall.com) directly into your browser's address bar. Don't use search engines or shortened versions of the website address, as these may lead you to fake or fraudulent sites. Do not provide any Gift Card details (example: Card Number) to someone you do not know or trust. If you believe you've reached an illegitimate website, contact cardholder service at 1-888-524-1283. Be cautious of phishing sites, there are a variety of scams in which fraudsters try to trick others into paying with gift cards.
- To report your Lost or Stolen Physical Visa Card, call Customer Service 24/7 at 1 (888) 524-1283 to cancel your Gift Card as soon as you can. You will be asked to provide the Gift Card number and other identifying information.
- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
What the partnership’s reported results do—and do not—show
In its August 13, 2026 second-quarter results, CTC reported that loyalty sales were up 3.1% in the first half of 2026, that loyalty sales outpaced non-loyalty sales as active members grew, and that RBC was part of Triangle’s partnership network. Those are company-reported results; they do not establish that the RBC partnership alone caused the increase.
