Labor Day 2025 is over. The holiday fell on Monday, September 1, and the promotions below are preserved as a historical, evidence-based guide. The strongest documented offers were specific technology prices, REI outdoor discounts, and appliance deals that rewarded planned replacements—not indiscriminate shopping.
The best documented Labor Day 2025 deals
The strongest product-level technology deals included the 2025 Apple iPad with A16 at $299, the M4 MacBook Air at $799, Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds at $229, and the Fitbit Charge 6 at $125. These were among WIRED’s tested picks, although WIRED—not this article—performed the testing.
For outdoor gear, REI’s event was unusually well documented: selected REI gear and brands were 25% off, some clothing and accessories received different discounts, clearance reached 50% off, and members received an extra 20% off one Outlet item. The sale ran August 22 through September 1, 2025, according to REI’s announcement.
Appliance promotions required more caution. Samsung’s headline savings were primarily a post-purchase rebate, while LG advertised selected TV discounts and appliance bundle offers with separate deadlines. A large percentage did not necessarily mean an immediate reduction at checkout.
| Deal | Documented price or discount | Conditions and verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Apple iPad A16, 2025 | $299; $50 off | WIRED-tested pick. Buy if you needed a mainstream tablet; a strong price for the generation. |
| Apple iPad Air M3, 13-inch | $649; $150 off | WIRED-tested pick. Buy for a larger, more capable tablet; verify storage and retailer return terms. |
| MacBook Air M4 | $799; $200 off | WIRED-tested pick. Buy for a laptop purchase that could not wait; compare memory and storage before checkout. |
| Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds | $229; $70 off | WIRED-tested pick. Buy if premium noise cancellation mattered; check color and seller warranty. |
| Fitbit Charge 6 | $125; $36 off | WIRED-tested pick. Buy for a fitness tracker at a clearly stated price; skip if you did not need a wearable. |
| Branch Ergonomic Chair Pro | $449; $50 off | WIRED-tested pick. Buy only if needed; chair fit, delivery, and return shipping matter more than the discount. |
| Steelcase Gesture | $1,199; $300 off | WIRED-tested pick. Buy only if needed; check configuration, delivery, and return costs. |
| REI selected gear | 25% off selected REI tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads | Sale ended September 1. Buy was reasonable for needed seasonal equipment, especially with member benefits. |
| REI clearance | Up to 50% off clearance | Selection, sizes, and return rules were product-specific. Buy cautiously. |
| LG OLED C5 TVs | From $1,049.99; size-dependent prices up to $3,999.99 | LG advertised the prices and up to 38% off selected TVs through September 7. Buy only after checking the exact size and model. |
| LG WashTower | $2,399; advertised as $500 off MSRP | Manufacturer promotion. Installation, delivery, and haul-away could change the real cost. Compare locally. |
| LG counter-depth French-door refrigerator | $1,799; advertised as $1,800 off MSRP | Check capacity, finish, installation, and actual competing prices. Do not treat MSRP savings as cash savings automatically. |
| Samsung appliance bundle | $100, $250, or $500 prepaid Mastercard rebate | Required two, three, or four-plus eligible appliances from different categories; claim deadline was October 10. Buy only if replacing multiple appliances anyway. |
Why this was not really “60+ individually verified deals”
The popular Labor Day roundup cited more than 60 offers, but most entries were retailer or brand promotions rather than individually verified products with a model number, final price, stock status, and price history. The underlying list included large merchants, niche brands, clearance pages, affiliate codes, and entries without a stated SKU. You can see the historical list at DontPayFull, but its April 15, 2026 update still described Labor Day 2025 as upcoming. That makes it a useful archive, not a reliable live sale page.

Broad claims such as “up to 80% off” or “up to 50% off” describe only selected merchandise. They should not be read as a storewide discount or as proof that a particular product reached its lowest price. The same limitation applies to a broad retailer roundup from NBC News. Product-level technology and appliance context was stronger in TechRadar’s coverage, while WIRED contributed stronger testing-based judgments but focused mainly on technology.
Technology deals
Apple tablets and laptops
The 2025 iPad with A16 at $299 was one of the cleanest Labor Day technology offers documented by WIRED: a specific model, a specific price, and a stated $50 reduction. It was the better value for ordinary browsing, streaming, schoolwork, and general tablet use.
The 13-inch iPad Air with the M3 chip fell to $649, or $150 off. The higher price made sense for buyers who needed more performance, a larger screen, or a longer useful life. Before comparing the discount, check storage capacity, cellular versus Wi-Fi connectivity, and whether the quoted price applied to every color.

Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallThe M4 MacBook Air reached $799, a stated $200 saving. This was a particularly meaningful discount for someone already planning a laptop purchase. It was less compelling for an existing MacBook owner whose current machine still met their needs, because the best personal-finance decision is often keeping a paid-for computer.
These recommendations came from WIRED’s product-review coverage. They are not claims that every retailer offered the same price, that every configuration qualified, or that the prices remained available after the event.
Audio, wearables, and office equipment
Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds were listed at $229, $70 off. The Fitbit Charge 6 was listed at $125, $36 off. Both were stronger candidates than a generic “headphones up to 50% off” claim because the exact products and prices were identified.
For home-office buyers, WIRED listed the Branch Ergonomic Chair Pro at $449, $50 off, and the Steelcase Gesture at $1,199, $300 off. A chair discount should be evaluated differently from a small electronic accessory. Confirm the exact configuration, delivery fee, assembly requirements, trial period, return shipping, and any restocking charge. A $50 discount can disappear if returning the chair costs hundreds of dollars.

LG advertised up to 38% off selected TVs through September 7, 2025. Its release listed OLED C5 prices ranging from $1,049.99 to $3,999.99 depending on screen size. Those are not interchangeable deals: the screen size, retailer, configuration, and remaining inventory determine whether the price was competitive.
The practical way to judge a TV promotion is to compare the exact model number, panel size, refresh rate, ports, processor generation, warranty, and return policy. Do not compare an OLED C5 with a similarly named lower-tier LCD model simply because both were advertised during the same sale.

Some coverage also reported retailer-wide TV, audio, and electronics promotions at Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Dell, HP, JBL, Lenovo, and other merchants. Those entries are best treated as shopping leads. Without a product-level price and model, they do not establish that a specific item was a good deal.
Appliances: separate instant savings from rebates
Appliance sales can look spectacular because retailers and manufacturers combine sale pricing, bundle incentives, delivery, installation, haul-away, financing, and mail-in or online rebates. These benefits should be calculated separately.

Samsung’s Labor Day promotion offered a prepaid Mastercard rebate—not an instant discount—for purchases of eligible appliances in different categories:
| Eligible categories purchased | Advertised rebate |
|---|---|
| Two different categories | $100 prepaid Mastercard |
| Three different categories | $250 prepaid Mastercard |
| Four or more different categories | $500 prepaid Mastercard |
| Qualifying Bespoke refrigerator | Potential additional $100 |
Qualifying appliance purchases had to be made during the August 21–September 10, 2025 purchase window. Claims were accepted through October 10, 2025. Samsung required the original receipt plus model and serial information.
The most important restriction was retailer eligibility. Samsung’s terms excluded Samsung.com, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy, Costco, and several other retailers from the rebate. That means a cheaper sticker price at one of those stores could be better than a higher price elsewhere, even after the advertised rebate. Read the Samsung promotion terms before treating the rebate as part of your guaranteed savings.
Verdict: this made sense only for a planned multi-appliance replacement. Buying extra appliances solely to reach the $250 or $500 tier could turn a rebate into an expensive mistake.
LG’s TV and appliance promotions
LG advertised the selected TV discounts described above and listed additional appliance promotions. Its release priced a WashTower at $2,399, advertised as $500 off MSRP, and a counter-depth French-door refrigerator at $1,799, advertised as $1,800 off MSRP. The release also described appliance bundle rebates that extended through October 15, 2025.
“Off MSRP” is not the same as verified savings against the recent market price. Compare the exact model at multiple retailers and add delivery, installation, required accessories, old-appliance removal, taxes, and any financing cost. The LG announcement is the appropriate source for the historical advertised prices and offer dates, but the retailer’s final checkout total controls.
Other appliance and kitchen promotions
Labor Day coverage also reported appliance and kitchen discounts at Best Buy, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Wayfair, Amazon, Target, and other retailers. Reported categories included major appliances, vacuums, air fryers, coffee makers, soda makers, and kitchen tools.

Among the named brands and merchants were SodaStream, Bed Bath & Beyond, Nebraska Furniture Mart, and large electronics retailers. Because the available research does not provide a verified model, final price, or return condition for each entry, these should not be presented as guaranteed bargains. The right comparison is the exact model’s delivered price plus installation and warranty—not the largest percentage printed on the category page.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsMattresses, bedding, and adjustable bases
Mattress promotions are difficult to compare because the discount is often paired with free pillows, sheets, foundations, or an adjustable base. A 30% discount with a short or expensive return process may be worse than a smaller discount with a generous sleep trial.
Brands and merchants appearing in the historical Labor Day coverage included Bear, Brooklyn Bedding, Casper, Emma, Happsy, Helix, Leesa, Naturepedic, Nolah, Nest Bedding, Purple, Stearns & Foster, Tempur-Pedic, and The Futon Shop. These names identify the sale universe; they do not prove that every mattress, size, firmness, or configuration had the same discount.
Before buying, record the exact mattress size, firmness, height, cover, included accessories, trial length, return shipping rules, pickup requirements, warranty, and whether the item is final sale. Check whether a foundation or adjustable base is required to preserve the warranty. For mattresses, “free” accessories can also make a return more complicated or reduce the refund.
Verdict: buy during a holiday sale if you had already researched the model and the sleep-trial terms were acceptable. Wait if the discount was the only reason you were considering a new mattress. Black Friday and other major shopping events frequently create another opportunity to compare the same model.
Furniture, rugs, patio, grills, and fire pits
Home and outdoor-living promotions were broad but highly dependent on inventory, location, delivery, and assembly. Historical coverage reported:
| Retailer or brand | Reported category promotion | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Home Depot | Power tools up to $160 off; grills from $99; outdoor power equipment up to $200 off | “From” and “up to” applied only to selected products. |
| Lowe’s | Appliances up to 40%; patio furniture up to 50%; grills up to 35% | Verify the exact model, local inventory, and delivery charge. |
| Wayfair | Bedroom and outdoor furniture up to 50%; major appliances up to 40% | Marketplace-style availability, shipping, assembly, and returns varied by item. |
| Pottery Barn | Furniture, outdoor, and bedding up to 60% | Selected merchandise only; delivery and white-glove fees could materially affect the total. |
| JCPenney | Home discounts up to 70% | Headline percentage did not establish a specific product’s value. |
| Ashley Furniture, Castlery, West Elm, Rugs.com | Furniture, rugs, and home promotions | Compare delivered prices and return terms before ordering. |
| Target and IKEA | Furniture, home goods, and member or student promotions | Membership eligibility and product-level exclusions mattered. |
| Breeo | Fire-pit promotion | Check the exact configuration, shipping, and accessories. |
For large furniture, the relevant number is the all-in delivered cost. Add assembly, room-of-choice or white-glove service, disposal, and return pickup. A discounted sectional can become a poor financial decision if it cannot fit through the doorway or costs hundreds of dollars to return.
Clothing, shoes, beauty, and back-to-school shopping
Labor Day is often a useful clearance period for summer clothing and an overlap point with back-to-school promotions. Historical coverage included Columbia, Keen, Old Navy, Shein, Stylevana, Nike, Macy’s, JCPenney, Target, and other retailers.
Reported category claims included dresses and jeans from 50% off at Macy’s, jackets and furniture from 40% off, and broad home discounts at JCPenney. The word “from” means the discount applied to at least some items; it does not mean every dress or pair of jeans was half price.

For shoes and outdoor clothing, compare the exact color and size. Clearance pricing is often strongest where selection is weakest. For beauty and skincare, verify the seller, expiration or batch information, shipping minimums, and return rules. For marketplace listings, the brand name alone does not guarantee that the item was sold by an authorized retailer.
Target’s historical coverage included Apple devices, headphones, furniture, books, and Circle offers. Membership or account-based pricing should be shown as a condition, not described as a universal price.
Outdoor, camping, cycling, and travel gear
REI’s documented event
REI’s official announcement gave the clearest outdoor-sale terms. The event ran August 22 through September 1, 2025 and included:
- 25% off REI Co-op tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads.
- 30% off Sahara clothing.
- 25% off Darn Tough socks, prAna hiking bottoms, Exped gear, KEEN footwear, and NEMO products.
- 20% off Thule and Yakima accessories.
- Up to 50% off clearance.
- REI members’ additional 20% off one Outlet item.
The official release should control over conflicting summaries. In particular, some secondary coverage described REI’s selected sale items as up to 40% off, but REI’s announcement specified the discounts above and stated that selected clearance items reached 50% off.
Recommended Free Tools
Verdict: the sale was strongest for a planned purchase of seasonal equipment, especially a tent, sleeping system, footwear, or a needed vehicle accessory. Clearance was potentially attractive but required more caution about sizing, stock, and returns.
Other outdoor and travel offers
The historical brand list included Backcountry, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Dometic, HOVSCO, Pergolux, and REI. Reported categories also included grills, outdoor power equipment, patio furniture, cycling products, and travel accessories.
Travel-related entries included Jetpac, Rokform, and Immersive Gamebox, while Golf Course Prints and StickerGiant represented niche or experience-oriented offers. These are not comparable to a verified product discount: the price, code, eligibility, and availability were not consistently documented. Treat them as historical leads rather than recommendations.
For outdoor purchases, also account for freight, battery compatibility, replacement parts, fuel or propane accessories, weather resistance, and warranty support. A discount on a specialized item is valuable only if the item works with equipment you already own.
What to buy, what to skip, and what might be cheaper at Black Friday
Reasonable Labor Day purchases
- A product with a verified final price: the $299 iPad A16, $799 M4 MacBook Air, $229 Bose earbuds, and $125 Fitbit Charge 6 had clearer evidence than generic percentage claims.
- Seasonal outdoor gear you already needed: REI’s selected 25% discounts and clearance pricing could make sense before fall trips, provided the item was not a poor fit.
- A replacement appliance: an LG or Samsung promotion could be worthwhile when the appliance was already on your list and the full delivered cost was competitive.
- Furniture with a known fit and acceptable returns: the discount matters only after delivery, assembly, and return fees are included.
Deals to skip or approach cautiously
- Any “up to” sale without a target product: the maximum discount may apply to a handful of discontinued items.
- Samsung’s rebate if you were buying extra appliances to reach a tier: the rebate is not a reason to spend thousands of dollars unnecessarily.
- An appliance advertised against MSRP without a market comparison: former prices can exaggerate apparent savings.
- Mattresses chosen solely because of a large percentage discount: trial and return terms are part of the price.
- Marketplace listings with unclear sellers: seller identity, condition, warranty, and return rights can differ from the main retailer.
- Carrier or activation offers: a lower device price may require a long-term service commitment.
- Final-sale clearance: a low price is not a bargain if the size, color, or condition is wrong.
Black Friday was the more likely time to see aggressive pricing on popular electronics, TVs, gaming products, and certain appliances. That does not mean every Labor Day purchase should have been delayed. A good Labor Day price on a product you needed could be preferable to waiting several months for an uncertain future promotion, losing stock, or paying full price after a repair or replacement became urgent.

How to verify a holiday-sale price
- Write down the exact product. Record the model number, generation, size, storage, capacity, finish, and seller.
- Compare the final price. Include shipping, tax, installation, assembly, haul-away, required accessories, and membership fees.
- Check the conditions. Look for coupon codes, membership requirements, trade-ins, carrier activation, financing, bundles, and rebates.
- Check the deadline. Retailers did not share one universal Labor Day expiration date. REI ended September 1; Samsung purchases ended September 10 with rebate claims through October 10; LG’s TV offer ran through September 7, while some LG appliance bundles ran through October 15.
- Read returns before buying. Pay special attention to mattresses, clearance, opened electronics, furniture, marketplace sellers, and custom or assembled goods.
- Save evidence. Keep the receipt, promotion terms, confirmation email, model and serial number, and screenshots of the offer.
- Submit rebates promptly. For Samsung, the original receipt and model/serial information were required, and the claim deadline was October 10, 2025.
Why the advertised “original price” matters
A discount percentage is meaningful only if the comparison price is genuine. Under 16 CFR §233.1, a former price used in advertising should be a real price offered openly and in good faith for a reasonably substantial, recent period. An artificially inflated reference price can make an ordinary price appear to be a bargain.
For practical purposes, compare three numbers:
| Number | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Current checkout price | What you pay before tax and after any automatic discount. |
| Recent market price | Whether other retailers or the same retailer recently sold the product for less. |
| All-in ownership cost | What remains after shipping, installation, accessories, membership, financing, and likely return costs. |
Only the third number answers the personal-finance question: is this a good use of your money?
Affiliate disclosure and editorial standard
If a publisher earns money when a reader clicks a shopping link or completes a purchase, the financial relationship should be disclosed clearly and near the recommendation. The FTC’s Endorsement Guides FAQ explains that a vague label such as “commissionable link” is not sufficient guidance by itself.

Deal quality was judged here using the documented final price, stated savings, product-level evidence, independent testing where available, model year and specifications, competing prices, return and warranty terms, fulfillment costs, rebate complexity, stock risk, and the likelihood of a better Black Friday price. “WIRED-tested pick” refers only to WIRED’s review coverage; it is not a claim that this publication tested the products.
Corrections and historical notes
- The popular source page counted more than 60 offers, but the count included store-level and brand-level promotions, not 60 individually validated products.
- The source page’s April 15, 2026 update incorrectly presented Labor Day 2025 as an upcoming event.
- REI’s official release controls where secondary coverage differed: selected sale items were listed at the specific discounts above, with clearance up to 50% off.
- “Lowest price,” “record low,” and similar claims are omitted unless supported by documented price-history evidence.
- Prices, inventory, colors, sizes, regional availability, and retailer terms were historical and could vary by location and time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these Labor Day deals still available?
No. Labor Day 2025 ended on September 1, 2025. This is a historical guide to documented promotions from that event, not a live 2026 sale page.
What were the best Labor Day 2025 deals?
The clearest product-level deals included the 2025 iPad A16 for $299, M4 MacBook Air for $799, Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds for $229, and Fitbit Charge 6 for $125, based on WIRED’s tested-pick coverage.
How did Samsung’s Labor Day appliance rebate work?
Samsung offered $100, $250, or $500 prepaid Mastercard rebates for buying eligible appliances from two, three, or four-plus different categories. Purchases had to be made August 21–September 10, 2025, and claims were due October 10, 2025.

REI’s official event ran August 22–September 1, 2025. Selected REI gear and brands received discounts, clearance reached up to 50% off, and members received an additional 20% off one Outlet item.

Not necessarily. “Up to” discounts applied only to selected items, and MSRP comparisons may not reflect recent market prices. Compare the exact model’s final delivered price, return terms, and warranty before buying.
The Bottom Line
Labor Day 2025’s best documented bargains were specific technology deals, REI’s selected outdoor discounts, and appliance promotions for shoppers already replacing multiple items. The safest way to evaluate any holiday sale is to ignore the headline percentage, identify the exact model, calculate the all-in price, and account for rebates, returns, delivery, installation, and the possibility of a better Black Friday offer.
