The best political campaign website builder depends on what the campaign needs beyond its homepage. ActBlue Website Builder is the strongest choice for eligible Democratic and progressive campaigns that want a fast site connected to fundraising. NationBuilder is better for campaigns that need a website, CRM, email, events, donations, and organizing in one system. WordPress.org offers the most control, while Wix and Squarespace are easier for small teams.
A website builder does not make a campaign compliant with federal or state election law. Before accepting contributions, verify the processor, required donor fields, contribution limits, disclaimers, refunds, reporting requirements, and data-retention practices for the campaign’s jurisdiction.

Its advertised features include campaign templates, logo, color and font customization, event and endorsement pages, forms, mobile management, search-optimization controls, and native ActBlue fundraising integration. ActBlue also lists integrations with NGP VAN, Action Network, Mailchimp, and Mobilize.
The published website price checked in August 2026 was $40 per month. That is the website subscription, not the total cost of fundraising. ActBlue’s pricing page lists a standard fundraising processing fee of 3.95%, while Raise by ActBlue lists a 3.5% per-transaction signal; confirm the applicable product and account terms before launch.
Important eligibility warning: ActBlue describes eligibility for federal, state, and local Democratic and progressive candidates, political organizations, and qualifying 501(c)(4) organizations. Its pricing information says Democratic candidates nationwide are eligible except Connecticut, subject to account requirements and policies. Republican, conservative, many independent, and other campaigns should not assume they qualify.
Choose it if: you need a professional site quickly and your fundraising program already uses ActBlue.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Avoid it if: the campaign is ineligible or needs extensive custom design, broad voter-data operations, or platform neutrality.
2. NationBuilder: best all-in-one campaign platform
NationBuilder is the strongest broad campaign-management choice when the website must connect to supporter records and organizing workflows.
NationBuilder documents website templates, donation and recurring-donation pages, events and ticketing, volunteer signup, petitions, vote pledging, supporter records, email blasts, drip automations, A/B testing, walk sheets, call sheets, turf cutting, autodistricting, fundraising analytics, and action pages. Text messaging and other capabilities may require add-ons.
The published pricing signals checked in August 2026 were $34 per month for Starter, $160 per month for Pro, and custom Enterprise pricing. Additional websites, ActionButton Plus, messaging, automation, customization, and other feature packs can increase the bill. Payment-processing rates also vary by plan, country, and eligibility.

- Broad Compatibility: Besign LS03 Laptop Mount is compatible with all laptops from 10''-15.6'', such as Air 13, Pro 13 / 15 / 2018 / 2017 / 2016, Lenovo ThinkPad, Dell, HP, ASUS, Chromebook, and other notebooks.

- Easy to Use: thanks to the detachable design, you could assemble it very easily it 3 steps.
Avoid it if: a small short-term campaign only needs a few informational pages and has no time to learn a campaign database.
3. WordPress.org: best for maximum ownership and flexibility
WordPress.org is self-hosted software, not a bundled website subscription. The campaign must arrange hosting, domain registration, a theme, plugins, backups, security, updates, forms, analytics, email, accessibility checks, and fundraising integrations.
Its major advantage is control. A campaign can connect the site to ActBlue, WinRed, Anedot, Stripe, a CRM, an email platform, an event system, or custom software, subject to each service’s rules. Content and hosting are generally more portable than on closed builders, making WordPress useful for a reelection campaign, officeholder site, PAC, or long-term advocacy organization.
The trade-off is operational responsibility. Plugin conflicts, outdated software, weak hosting, broken forms, security incidents, and election-season traffic can become the campaign’s problem. A low-cost hosting plan is not automatically suitable for viral coverage or donation spikes.
Choose it if: the campaign has a developer, agency, technical volunteer, or managed WordPress provider.
Avoid it if: nobody owns updates, backups, security, accessibility, and integration testing.
4. Wix: best easy DIY builder
Wix’s political templates are designed for candidates, political organizations, advocacy groups, and public figures. They support common campaign content such as biographies, mission statements, events, social links, blog posts, donation calls to action, and subscriber collection.
Wix also documents a Wix Donations app that can add donation campaigns and forms. However, a generic donation form is not automatically a political contribution system. Confirm whether the connected processor supports the campaign type, geography, required donor certifications, employer and occupation fields, contribution limits, refunds, and reporting needs.
Wix is attractive for a small team that wants visual editing without a developer. Apps and external services may still be needed for a political CRM, texting, voter data, compliance workflows, and advanced fundraising attribution.
Choose it if: the priority is quick visual editing for a small informational campaign site.

5. Squarespace: best polished, low-maintenance campaign site
Squarespace is a strong fit for a candidate biography, platform, press page, news section, event calendar, and contact or volunteer forms.
Squarespace’s nonprofit-site guidance recommends community and nonprofit templates, connecting a payment processor, using donation blocks, and adding volunteer signup forms. Those tools can create a credible campaign presence, but they do not provide a full political CRM or guarantee compliant contribution processing.
Third-party providers also sell political Squarespace templates and setup services. For example, Swayed lists templates from $399 and setup services beginning at $2,249; those are the vendor’s prices, not Squarespace’s.

6. Webflow: best for design-led campaigns and agencies
Webflow offers unusually strong visual control and a structured CMS for news, endorsements, policy pages, locations, and other repeatable content.
The pricing signals checked in August 2026 were $15 per month for Basic and $25 per month for Premium when billed yearly. Webflow’s free Starter site uses a Webflow subdomain and has significant limits, including a two-page restriction noted in its plan documentation. A paid Site plan is required for custom-domain publishing and additional capabilities. Team and Enterprise pricing is far beyond the needs of most small campaigns.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWebflow forms and CMS features do not equal political fundraising, CRM, texting, volunteer management, or voter-file tools. Those functions must be connected separately. Campaigns should also ensure the agency—not only an individual designer—controls the workspace, domain, analytics, integrations, and exportable content.
Choose it if: a design team or agency will manage the site and the campaign values brand control.

Avoid it if: volunteers need the simplest possible editor or the campaign wants one integrated operating system.
7. WordPress.com: best hosted WordPress option
WordPress.com provides hosted WordPress without requiring the campaign to manage its own server. It can suit a content-heavy campaign publishing frequent news, statements, endorsements, and policy updates.
Recommended Free Tools
It is not the same product as WordPress.org. WordPress.com handles hosting and plan-level infrastructure, while WordPress.org is software the campaign installs with a hosting provider of its choice. WordPress.com’s access to plugins, themes, custom code, storage, and integrations depends on the selected plan.
Fundraising still requires a properly configured external service or supported integration. A hosted setup reduces maintenance, but it also provides less control and portability than self-hosting.
Choose it if: the campaign wants WordPress publishing without server administration.
Avoid it if: unrestricted plugins, custom code, hosting control, or complex integrations are essential.
8. Action Network: best campaign-action companion
Action Network is best understood as an organizing and action platform for petitions, events, email acquisition, and supporter mobilization—not automatically as a conventional full-service website builder.
It can complement a campaign site built with ActBlue Website Builder, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or Webflow. An issue campaign or movement may prefer this combination when supporter action matters more than a large content site.
Verify current site-building capabilities, pricing, integrations, and account eligibility directly before treating Action Network as the campaign’s primary website platform.
Choose it if: petitions, events, email capture, and mobilization are central to the campaign.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.9. Google Sites or another lightweight hosted builder: best for temporary pages
A lightweight hosted builder can work for a volunteer-run effort, event committee, temporary campaign, or ultra-low-budget informational page. It may be enough for a candidate name, biography, schedule, contact details, and links to external donation and signup tools.
It is generally a poor core system for a serious federal, statewide, or heavily funded campaign. Limited design, analytics, SEO, accessibility controls, integrations, migration options, and fundraising workflows can create avoidable problems.
Verify current custom-domain, form, analytics, accessibility, and export features before choosing a lightweight builder. If those capabilities are insufficient, use it only as a temporary landing page rather than the campaign’s primary digital infrastructure.
How to choose by campaign type
- Eligible Democratic or progressive local campaign: ActBlue Website Builder for a fast fundraising-connected site; NationBuilder if organizing and supporter records are also important.
- Republican, conservative, independent, or nonpartisan campaign: Start with a politically compatible fundraising processor, then choose WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or Webflow for the site based on technical capacity.
- Statewide or congressional campaign with organizing ambitions: NationBuilder or a coordinated stack combining a flexible CMS with political CRM and fundraising tools.
- Campaign with technical support: WordPress.org for ownership and extensibility.
- Small volunteer team: Wix for simple editing or Squarespace for a more polished low-maintenance site.
- Design agency: Webflow, provided the campaign retains domain, workspace, analytics, content, and integration access.
- Advocacy, ballot initiative, or movement campaign: Action Network alongside a full website builder when petitions, events, and supporter actions are central.
- Fundraising-first project: Consider Raise by ActBlue where eligible, but do not mistake a fundraising page for a full website.
Use this scoring framework
Rank shortlisted platforms against the campaign’s actual requirements rather than treating “best” as universal.
| Criterion | Suggested weight | Questions to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Fundraising compatibility | 20% | Does it support the right processor, recurring gifts, required fields, refunds, exports, and attribution? |
| Launch speed | 15% | Can staff create pages and landing pages during a news cycle? |
| Campaign operations | 15% | Are CRM, volunteer, email, event, text, and organizing tools native or integrated? |
| Compliance readiness | 15% | Are disclaimers, contribution rules, audit trails, and processor requirements supported? |
| Design and content | 10% | Can the team manage mobile layouts, news, endorsements, and custom landing pages? |
| Integrations | 10% | Does it connect to the campaign’s existing fundraising, CRM, event, and email tools? |
| Total cost | 10% | What will hosting, add-ons, fees, services, maintenance, and support cost? |
| Ownership and portability | 5% | Can the campaign export content and data, control the domain, and configure redirects? |
Political fundraising and compliance checklist
Before accepting contributions, confirm:
- The committee and fundraising account are eligible to use the chosen processor.
- The processor supports the campaign’s federal, state, local, PAC, party, nonprofit, or advocacy status.
- Required donor information, including employer and occupation where applicable, is collected.
- Contribution limits, prohibited-donor rules, recurring gifts, refunds, and chargebacks are handled correctly.
- Required disclaimer language appears in the right places.
- Donations reach the correct committee account and are included in the appropriate reporting workflow.
- Donor and supporter data can be exported and transferred if the platform changes.
- Privacy, consent, unsubscribe, and text-message opt-out requirements are documented.
Do not assume that a “Donate” button, payment block, or generic ecommerce form satisfies election law. The website builder may only host the page; the processor and committee remain responsible for their respective requirements.
Campaign launch checklist
- Register the domain in the campaign committee’s name, not a consultant’s personal account.
- Add at least two administrators and store credentials in a shared password manager.
- Publish the candidate biography, platform, contact details, endorsements, events, press information, and required disclaimers.
- Test the site on current mobile and desktop browsers.
- Test donation, volunteer, email, event, petition, and contact forms.
- Run a test donation and verify the confirmation email, receipt, attribution, and destination account.
- Check keyboard navigation, color contrast, alt text, captions, form labels, and error messages.
- Configure analytics without losing campaign-source attribution when visitors move to an external donation domain.
- Verify every link, social profile, event date, and committee name.
- Export a backup of content and supporter data and document every third-party integration.
- Confirm how the site will be archived, redirected, or reused after Election Day.
What the monthly price leaves out
The real cost can include the website subscription, domain, hosting, email marketing, donation-processing fees, CRM or voter-file access, SMS, premium templates, plugins, developer or agency labor, accessibility remediation, security, backups, and migration work.
For example, a $15 website plan may still require a separate political contribution system, email platform, CRM, event software, and technical support. Conversely, a higher-priced integrated platform may reduce the number of vendors and manual exports, even if its subscription looks more expensive.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsAsk each vendor for the total cost of the campaign’s expected stack, not merely the entry-level website price.
Website ownership and failure prevention
Election campaigns can experience sudden donation spikes, media traffic, rapidly changing landing pages, bots, and attempted attacks. Ask about hosting capacity, backups, DDoS protection, support escalation, and account recovery. NationBuilder advertises DDoS protection and hosted campaign infrastructure; Webflow’s capabilities vary by plan. Treat these as documented vendor features, not guarantees of uninterrupted service.
Also plan for common failures: an embedded donation form stops loading, an API permission expires, a former staffer controls the account, a plugin subscription lapses, form alerts go to an inactive inbox, analytics disappear after a domain change, or a donation link points to the wrong committee.
Prevent them with multiple administrators, committee-owned accounts, regular exports, test submissions, a written integration inventory, current backups, and a documented handoff process.
