There is no evidence-backed “best” dealership management system (DMS) for every Indian dealer. The seven providers below are a practical shortlist—not a ranked top seven—covering different dealership formats and workflows. Their feature descriptions are vendor claims, so confirm that a product supports your vehicle category, OEMs, GST and accounting processes, branches, workshop operations and integrations before choosing it.

What is dealership management software?

A dealer management system (DMS) is software that brings together some or all of a dealership’s operating workflows. Depending on the product, that can include enquiries and customer relationship management (CRM), vehicle and parts inventory, sales, billing, service appointments, workshop job cards, accounting, reporting and compliance tasks. Coverage varies: a system designed for a used-car lot may not suit an authorised two-wheeler dealer or a multi-brand workshop.

For Indian dealers, a feature label such as “GST-ready” or “OEM integration” is only a starting point. Ask the provider to demonstrate the exact tax, invoice, OEM, RTO, payment, insurance or messaging workflow you use, for your locations and vehicle brands.

Seven India-relevant DMS vendors to consider

This is a use-case-oriented shortlist, not a performance ranking. The descriptions below reflect what each provider says its software offers; they are not independent product tests.

1. Orbitsys

Orbitsys describes a cloud CRM-DMS for OEMs, EV companies, dealer networks and multi-brand workshops, with sales, workshop management, CRM and mobile applications. Its website says it has worked with automotive brands including Tata Motors, Isuzu, Benelli and Skoda, and serves over 2,000 dealers. Those figures and customer references are company-published claims, not independently validated results. Ask whether its configuration supports your specific brand relationships, workshop model and branch structure.

2. Auto Xpert

Auto Xpert describes a platform for Indian multi-brand dealer groups covering sales, service, finance, inventory and administration. It lists integrations involving OEM networks, Tally and other accounting workflows, GST and e-invoicing, RTO, banks, insurance and communications. Confirm which named integrations are available for your operation, what data passes between systems, and what rollout and support commitments apply.

3. Zoho AutoDMS

Zoho AutoDMS lists sales leads and deals, service appointments, work orders, parts inventory, reporting, mobile apps and OEM integration. The product page also displays outcome percentages, but the reviewed material does not provide a measurement method; those figures are not a reliable basis for comparing expected results. Request a demonstration using your enquiry, service and parts workflows, and ask for substantiation and context for any performance claim.

4. AGN Software

AGN Software positions its product for Indian automotive dealership networks and describes sales, stock, billing, CRM, service and GST-compatible functions. Its website states that it serves 3,000+ businesses across India; this is the vendor’s own claim and is not accompanied by an independently established methodology in the reviewed material. Ask for references from dealers with a similar vehicle category and operating footprint.

5. Easy Automobile

Easy Automobile targets two-wheeler, three-wheeler, EV and tractor dealerships, as well as service centres. Its listed functions include sales and purchases, financial transactions, service, inventory, customer follow-up, GST-ready billing and e-invoice/e-way-bill workflows. Dealers should check that the product fits their exact vehicle segment and test the billing and service steps they perform day to day.

6. AutoRevs

AutoRevs is positioned for pre-owned dealerships. Its described features include inventory, lead management, sales analytics, vehicle records, marketplace connections and OEM service-history features. The provider’s website also includes business figures and projections; these are company claims rather than independent evidence of market reach or results. Used-car operators should verify how listings, vehicle records and service history work with the channels and data sources they actually use.

7. Vehicron

Metafrone describes Vehicron as India-developed dealership operations software for multi-branch businesses, connecting sales, workshop, stockyard, insurance, approvals and customer operations. Listed capabilities include digital job cards, technician assignment, parts requests, vehicle-linked service records, dashboards and configurable workflows. Ask how those workflows are configured, what branch-level controls are available, and how records and reports can be exported.

How to choose a DMS for your dealership

Start with your operating model, then test the workflows that matter most. A longer feature list is less useful than a reliable fit for your vehicle category, branch complexity, workshop volume, CRM maturity, accounting needs and existing systems.

  1. Define your dealership type. Specify whether you sell or service two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, EVs, tractors, used cars or multiple brands. Confirm that the vendor supports that category and your authorised or independent-dealer model.
  2. Map the workflow from enquiry to service. Ask the vendor to demonstrate how a lead becomes a sale and invoice, how stock is updated, and how a vehicle moves through appointment, job card, technician assignment, parts issue and customer follow-up. Mark any steps that require spreadsheets or duplicate entry.
  3. Validate integrations against your actual systems. List the OEM portals and tools you use for GST, accounting, payments, insurance, RTO and customer messaging. For each claimed connection, ask what data is exchanged, whether it is direct or manual, who maintains it and whether additional fees apply.
  4. Test the branch and reporting model. If you run multiple locations or brands, check permissions, consolidated and branch-level reports, stock transfers, approvals and audit trails. Workshop volume and stockyard processes may matter more than a generic “multi-location” label.
  5. Agree implementation and support in writing. Document data migration, customization, staff training, go-live assistance, support hours, service levels and escalation routes. Request a migration plan and identify which party is responsible for cleaning and validating existing records.
  6. Review security and exit options. Ask about user access controls, audit history, uptime commitments, data protection terms, backups and data exports. Confirm the format, scope, timing and cost of retrieving your data if you leave.
  7. Compare the full contract cost. Request a written proposal that specifies subscription charges, user and branch limits, API access, support, customization, implementation and any usage-based fees over the full contract term. Publicly comparable pricing was not established for these vendors, so compare proposals on the same assumptions.
  8. Check references from similar dealerships. Speak with customers that match your vehicle segment, branch count and workshop needs. Ask what went live as promised, what still needs manual work, how support responds and whether the final cost differed from the proposal.

What the available evidence can—and cannot—tell you

The vendors’ published pages can help identify products worth investigating, but their feature descriptions and outcome claims are not independent proof of performance. There is no transparent, market-wide scoring method or independently established dataset here that supports a best-to-worst ranking. Treat the list as a starting point for demonstrations, written proposals and reference checks, not as a substitute for evaluating the software in your own workflows.
