MemberClicks is an association-management system (AMS) for associations, chambers, nonprofits and other member-based organizations. Its baseline includes a membership database, member website and CMS, dues and payment processing, events, email, communities, job boards, learning tools, reporting and integrations. The best replacement depends on whether you run a small club, chamber, professional association, international network or fundraising nonprofit.
For most small organizations, WildApricot is the easiest public-price alternative; ClubExpress is the clearest per-member option; GrowthZone suits chambers and larger associations; Glue Up suits international, event-led organizations; Raklet emphasizes modern engagement and APIs; and Neon CRM fits nonprofits that combine membership with fundraising.
Quick comparison
| Platform | Best for | Pricing model and current signal | Main advantage over MemberClicks | Main concern |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WildApricot | Small associations and nonprofits | Contact-based; $66/month for 100 contacts on monthly billing on the current pricing page | Public pricing, 60-day trial and self-service setup | Advanced governance and complex structures may require more than it offers |
| ClubExpress | Clubs and associations | Per member plus hosting and options; $24 monthly hosting minimum and 42¢ per member per month for up to 200 members are displayed | Transparent pricing methodology | Setup, optional functions, design and processing add to the bill |
| GrowthZone | Chambers and larger trade associations | Quote-based; confirm current modules and minimums | Chamber and association workflow depth | Implementation and pricing opacity |
| Glue Up | International associations and chambers | Modular or quote-based; obtain a current package quote | Events, communities and international engagement | Add-on modules can make total cost difficult to predict |
| Raklet | Growing organizations wanting modern engagement | Contact-based free/paid tiers are reported; verify direct pricing | API and branded-mobile potential | May not match mature AMS governance depth |
| Neon CRM | Fundraising nonprofits with membership | Nonprofit CRM pricing; approximately $99/month appears in comparison coverage, but verify directly | Donor and fundraising workflows alongside membership | Less association-specific configuration may be needed |

What MemberClicks does—and what a replacement must cover
MemberClicks is more than a website or email service. It combines member records, websites and gated content, dues and invoices, events, communications, directories, communities, job boards, learning features, reporting and integrations. Its pricing is quote-based rather than a public self-service ladder (MemberClicks pricing and features).
Evaluate an alternative against your actual workflow, not a feature-count list:
- Membership: individual, household, company and parent-child records; renewals, grace periods, proration, recurring billing, permissions, audit history, imports, deduplication and exports.
- Website and portal: CMS, gated pages, directory search and privacy, forms, branding, SEO, analytics and the ability to retain an existing site.
- Events and education: member/nonmember prices, discounts, waitlists, agendas, speakers, exhibitors, attendance, reminders, certifications and continuing-education records.
- Money: cards and ACH, recurring payments, failed-payment recovery, refunds, invoices, taxes, accounting integrations and separate processor fees.
- Engagement: segmented email, automations, communities, forums, surveys, polls, push notifications and activity history.
- Data and operations: custom reports, dashboards, scheduled exports, API or webhooks, connectors, migration help, training, support response times, contract terms and cancellation exports.
1. WildApricot: best for smaller organizations
WildApricot is the strongest starting point for a small association or nonprofit that wants membership, a website, events, payments, donations, e-commerce, directories, gated pages and a member app in one relatively self-service product. Its pricing page currently shows $66 per month for 100 contacts on monthly billing, with discounts for one- and two-year prepayment, plus a 60-day trial without a credit card (WildApricot pricing).
Advantages
- Public pricing and a trial reduce initial budgeting risk.
- One system covers common website, dues, event and communication needs.
- Useful for teams without dedicated technical staff.
Trade-offs and fit
Contact-based billing counts records rather than only paying members, so prospects, former members, donors and event attendees can push you into a higher tier. It may be a poor fit for complex chapters, parent-child governance, advanced certification or enterprise integrations. A trial demonstrates setup, not the effort of a production migration.

2. ClubExpress: best for transparent per-member pricing
ClubExpress publishes a per-member model. Its current page displays a $24 monthly hosting minimum and 42¢ per member per month for up to 200 members, with lower per-member rates at higher bands (ClubExpress pricing).
Advantages
- Pricing methodology is visible before a sales call.
- Purpose-built club and association operations can scale more predictably than a quote-only system.
- Broad operational functionality is available in one platform.
Trade-offs and fit
The displayed member rate is not the complete bill: setup, hosting, optional functions, design and merchant processing require separate review. Confirm the live design and administration experience rather than judging it from the rate. It is less suitable for a donor-centric CRM, international complexity or a highly polished enterprise marketing site with minimal configuration.
3. GrowthZone: best for chambers and larger associations
GrowthZone is positioned toward chambers of commerce and larger trade associations, making it a workflow-focused alternative rather than a low-cost substitute. Available comparison coverage describes it as quote-based (current MemberClicks alternatives comparison).
Why consider it
- Chamber-oriented operations and deeper association workflows may justify a structured implementation.
- Reporting and integrations should be evaluated for your specific processes.
Risks to resolve in the quote
Ask for module-level pricing, implementation hours, migration scope, contract minimums, mobile capabilities, data exports and cancellation terms. A small volunteer club may pay for depth it will not use and may lack the staff required for implementation. Verify every current feature directly with GrowthZone at GrowthZone.

4. Glue Up: best for international and event-led engagement
Glue Up is described as a modular platform for international associations, chambers and organizations combining membership, events, communities and networking (comparison coverage). Obtain a package quote rather than comparing a single advertised module.
Strengths
- Events and community engagement can sit alongside membership administration.
- Modular purchasing lets an international organization select capabilities it actually needs.
- Mobile and networking functions may support distributed communities.
Questions for international buyers
Confirm currencies, taxes, payment gateways by country, languages, regional data requirements, API access, mobile branding, module boundaries and contract length. A simple dues-and-directory organization may find the modular model unnecessarily complex. See Glue Up.
5. Raklet: best for modern engagement and API access
Raklet is aimed at organizations wanting community engagement, contact-based pricing, an API and branded mobile experiences. Free and paid tiers are reported in comparison coverage, but plan limits and current prices must be checked on Raklet’s pricing page.
Advantages
- API access can support custom integrations and data flows.
- Contact-based plans and modern member-facing experiences may appeal to growing organizations.
- Branded mobile options can support engagement beyond email.
Trade-offs
Model cost using every record in your database, not only paid members. Confirm whether required capabilities are native, add-ons or integrations, and test chapter, certification, accounting and permission requirements. It is less appropriate when mature, highly specialized AMS governance is non-negotiable. The main site is Raklet.

6. Neon CRM: best for nonprofits combining membership and fundraising
Neon CRM (Neon One) is designed for broader nonprofit constituent management. Comparison coverage cites an approximately $99-per-month starting signal, but it does not establish current plan limits or the complete cost (WildApricot alternatives comparison).
Advantages
- Membership can share records and workflows with donors, campaigns and fundraising.
- It may fit a nonprofit whose dues program is only one part of constituent management.
Trade-offs and verification
Ask Neon One about membership depth, database limits, event registration, payment fees, migration, API access, chapters and certification. Configuration may be heavier than a lightweight membership website, while a professional association may miss specialized AMS functions. Use Neon One and Neon One pricing for current terms.
When a seventh option makes more sense: MemberPlanet
MemberPlanet can suit a small club, team, faith group or community organization focused on dues, payments, communication and basic administration. It is not equivalent to MemberClicks for complex chapters, certification, learning, association reporting or enterprise integrations. Check current plans directly at MemberPlanet.
Choose by organization type
| Your situation | Most logical first demo | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Small nonprofit with limited technical staff | WildApricot | Public price, trial and broad basic functionality |
| Local club or association | ClubExpress | Per-member pricing and club-oriented operations |
| Chamber or large trade association | GrowthZone | Deeper chamber and association workflows |
| International, event-heavy network | Glue Up | Modular events, communities and engagement |
| Growing organization needing API or branded mobile | Raklet | Modern engagement orientation and integration potential |
| Fundraising nonprofit | Neon CRM | Donor, campaign and membership data in one nonprofit CRM |
Calculate total cost, not the advertised starting price
Compare each vendor using the same first-year scenario:
Subscription + setup + migration + training + required modules + payment fees + integrations + renewal increase.
- Ask whether billing counts active members, all contacts, households, prospects, donors, attendees and former members.
- Request separate line items for implementation, design, training, premium support, SMS, email volume, API calls, storage and administrator seats.
- Confirm whether events, communities, mobile apps, learning, certification and chapters are included or add-ons.
- Check annual-contract requirements, notice periods, renewal caps and payment-processing charges.
- Require a usable full-data export and clarify what happens to your website and portal after cancellation.
- Have the vendor demonstrate a renewal, failed payment, refund, household record, discount, role permission and custom report using your data model.
Migration checklist for leaving MemberClicks
- Inventory member IDs, statuses, renewal dates, history, household or company links, custom fields, documents, certificates, event history and email consent.
- List payment tokens, recurring plans, gateways, accounting links, email automations, web forms, redirects and other integrations.
- Assume stored card data or tokens may not transfer directly. Plan customer reauthorization and failed-payment handling before cutover.
- Deduplicate and test imports in a staging environment; preserve IDs where possible.
- Recreate permissions, directory privacy, gated content, forms, renewal notices and event confirmations.
- Run parallel renewal and payment tests, publish redirects, train staff and communicate the change to members.
- Obtain a written export and cancellation plan before signing the new contract.
Bottom line
There is no universal MemberClicks winner. Choose WildApricot for a small organization prioritizing public pricing and simple setup; ClubExpress for transparent per-member economics; GrowthZone for chamber or larger-association operations; Glue Up for international, event-led engagement; Raklet for API-oriented modern communities; and Neon CRM when fundraising is as important as membership. Validate the complete first-year quote, migration plan and exit terms before treating any starting price as a saving.
