That figure is the amount in the headline—not a verified sale price. The underlying listing and its outcome have not been established.
What the $125,000 headline does—and does not—establish
The available record supports a narrow conclusion: the headline said a 58-watch lot was offered on eBay for $125,000. The Pinterest result preserves the aBlogtoWatch headline, but it does not provide the original article or listing as a verifiable sale record. It therefore does not establish whether the listing was active for a particular period, whether the seller accepted an offer, or whether the watches sold.

The headline names Joseph Iten as the collection’s source or owner, but the accessible result does not give a biography or document the collection’s chain of custody. The exact references, seller identity, listing terms, item-level condition, authenticity documentation, service history, and final outcome remain unverified. The eBay Breitling watch category shows that Breitling listings exist on the marketplace generally; it does not show that this historical lot is still available or identify its contents.
What “new old stock” means here
“New old stock” is the condition phrase used in the headline, not proof that every watch was unworn, factory sealed, never serviced, or accompanied by original packaging. Those are separate item-level claims that would need evidence from a listing, photographs, inspection, or service records. Without that evidence, the label alone cannot settle a watch’s wear, mechanical condition, or completeness.

What is known about the Joseph Iten attribution
A May 13, 2020 post on Omega Watch Forums offers one additional, limited account: a seller described a 1969 Breitling Chrono-Matic Ref. 2114 as coming from the Joseph Iten collection. The seller also repeated a story that Willy Breitling took approximately 3,000 watches from Breitling. These are claims made by an individual forum seller, not independently authenticated evidence about the 58-watch lot or a verified historical statistic.
The forum seller’s account is useful as an example of the kind of provenance claim attached to an individual watch, but it does not document the whole collection’s history. Even that specific watch was described by its seller as having minor handling marks and an unserviced movement—details that illustrate why “NOS” does not, by itself, answer questions about condition or service.

How to assess a comparable vintage-watch offer
If evaluating a vintage Breitling listing today, treat provenance, condition, and price as separate questions rather than relying on a collection name or a NOS label. Look for evidence tied to the specific watch and seller:

- Chronograph Movement: Self-winding
- Case Size: 42mm Stainless Steel
- Dial Color: Black
- Water Resistance: Up to 300 Meters
- Identity: Ask for the exact reference and clear photographs of the dial, case, movement, and any identifying marks.
- Condition and service: Request a description of handling or wear, whether the movement runs, and any available service records. A running watch is not necessarily recently serviced.
- Completeness: Confirm whether boxes, papers, or other accessories are included; do not assume they come with the watch.
- Provenance: Ask what documents support the claimed ownership history and whether they relate to the individual watch rather than a broader collection story.
- Price and outcome: Distinguish an asking or offer figure from a completed transaction. A listing headline alone does not establish what a buyer paid.
