Those symptoms have different causes. Check for an account restriction or identity prompt before changing app settings; location permissions and browser data matter only for the problems they address.
1. Check whether Facebook removed Marketplace access
If Marketplace is missing or Facebook says your access is unavailable, look for an account-level restriction rather than treating the problem as an app glitch. Facebook says Marketplace access may be removed when its Commerce Policies or Community Standards are not followed. Its help information also says messaging can be limited in some regions or after excessive messages. Review Facebook’s Marketplace messaging and access guidance and any notice shown in your account. If Facebook offers a review or appeal option, use that in-product route; reinstalling the app will not reverse an account restriction.
If only Marketplace messaging has stopped, distinguish that from losing Marketplace access altogether. Facebook identifies regional limits and excessive messages as possible reasons messaging may be unavailable.
2. Follow an identity-verification prompt in Facebook
Facebook may ask for identity documents to start or continue using features such as Marketplace. If you see a verification request, follow the instructions shown in Facebook itself. Do not send identification to a third-party service claiming it can restore access. Facebook’s guidance does not establish a universal eligibility checklist or a standard review turnaround, so avoid relying on promised timelines.

3. Check location permission for local results
If Marketplace opens but local results or location features are wrong, check Facebook’s location permission on the device. Facebook says its Location Services feature applies to the iPhone, iPad, and Android apps.
- Android: Open Settings → Apps → Facebook → Permissions → Location, then choose the permission you want to allow.
- iPhone or iPad: Open the device’s Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services, find Facebook, and select the desired permission. Menu wording can vary by iOS version.
These settings address location-related behavior; they do not resolve an account restriction or every kind of Marketplace problem. See Facebook’s instructions for managing location permissions.

4. Test another Facebook access surface for a missing feature
Some Marketplace features vary by platform. For example, Facebook says buyers and sellers can provide ratings in the Facebook app for iPhone or Android, but not on facebook.com or Facebook Lite. Rating visibility also has platform-specific limits. If a feature or control is missing, try the main Facebook app or the full website to check whether the difference is platform-specific. This test can help diagnose a display limitation; it does not restore access removed from an account.

5. Clear in-app browser data only for an embedded-page problem
If a page will not load while open in Facebook’s embedded browser, try clearing that browser’s data. Facebook’s option affects the in-app browser only; it is not documentation that clearing the entire Facebook app cache repairs Marketplace access.
- Open Facebook’s in-app browser settings.
- Select the option to clear browsing data.
- Reopen the affected page and check whether it loads.
If Marketplace itself is missing, a location setting is wrong, or Facebook has restricted access, this browser-specific step is unlikely to address the cause. See Facebook’s in-app browser data guidance.

If you still cannot access Marketplace
Use Facebook’s Help Center and the review or report options Facebook presents in your account. Facebook lists buy-and-sell groups and a Page as other selling surfaces, but they are alternatives for reaching buyers—not ways to restore Marketplace-specific access or listings.
