The five games in the 2021 article “Top 5 NFT Games Aside from Axie Infinity” were CryptoKitties, Sorare, Gods Unchained, F1 Delta Time, and Evolution Land. They cover very different activities, from fantasy sports to card battles and virtual-land simulation. This is a historical selection, not a current ranking: official sources substantiate current signals for Gods Unchained and Sorare, but do not establish that all five games are playable or maintained today.
What “top five” means here
Tech Times published its selection on July 20, 2021. It framed the games as alternatives to Axie Infinity, but the article is now more than five years old, and it did not provide a current, independently measured ranking. Availability, gameplay, token terms, and trading activity can change. Treat the list below as a guide to five historically notable NFT games and their different concepts, not as a recommendation to invest or a guarantee that each title can still be played. What each game is—and what is known now
1. CryptoKitties: collecting and breeding
CryptoKitties centers on virtual cats that players can buy, breed, sell, or sire for other users. Its official guide also describes Ethereum gas fees, which can affect the cost of blockchain transactions. Because that guide is years old, it supports an explanation of the game’s historical mechanics, not a claim that the game is currently available or actively maintained. CryptoKitties’ official guide
2. Sorare: fantasy sports with digital player cards
Sorare uses digital player cards in fantasy-sports team building. Its current help center has sections for football, NBA, and MLB, so describing it only as a football game no longer captures the documented scope of its support materials. In an October 8, 2025 article, Sorare described a planned migration from StarkEx to Solana. The company said the move was intended to expand NFT utility, transparency, and user control. That article documents the plan and its stated rationale; it does not establish that the migration is complete or that every stated goal has been achieved. Sorare’s migration announcement
3. Gods Unchained: strategic trading-card battles
Gods Unchained is a digital strategy card game built around assembling decks and battling. Its official portal describes collecting and trading cards and lists game modes; Immutable Play lists the game as available now. Ethereum.org also describes it as free-to-play and focused on competitive play and ownership of game items. These sources provide current operational signals, unlike the stale evidence available for some other entries, but features and access can still change. 4. F1 Delta Time: a historical motorsport-themed entry
The 2021 Tech Times article described F1 Delta Time as a Formula 1-themed blockchain game involving cars, drivers, and other in-game NFTs. The sources available here do not establish its current operator status, playability, or maintenance. Treat it as a historical entry rather than a game you can assume is still running. 5. Evolution Land: a historical virtual-land simulation
Tech Times described Evolution Land as a virtual-land simulation involving land and resource management. That description is historical: no newer official source here verifies its current mechanics or whether the game remains playable. Tech Times’ 2021 article

For a player choosing what to investigate, the distinction is practical: Gods Unchained has current official game materials, while Sorare has current help coverage and a migration update whose completion should not be assumed. The available evidence does not support recommending CryptoKitties, F1 Delta Time, or Evolution Land as currently playable.

What NFT ownership and tokens do—and do not—tell you
In these games, digital assets may take the form of cards, player cards, or virtual collectibles. Blockchain-based ownership does not make an item liquid, guarantee that someone will buy it, or ensure that it will remain useful if a game changes or shuts down. A game’s continued operation and its asset market are separate considerations.
Gods Unchained’s official token information page describes GODS as its native ERC-20 token and says it can be used for crafting NFTs, buying packs, and governance. The page lists a total supply of 500 million GODS; this is a token-supply figure, not a measure of player demand or likely returns. Token prices and rewards can vary, and the existence of a token or an in-game marketplace does not establish that players will earn money. Gods Unchained token information
