On April 30, 2013, 365 Main announced that it would double the size of its New York data center by adding 16,000 square feet inside the existing building at 65 Broadway in Lower Manhattan. The announcement described a planned expansion; it does not establish the facility’s present-day size or available capacity.
What did 365 Main announce?
365 Main said the expansion would add 16,000 square feet to its New York data center at 65 Broadway. The company characterized the addition as doubling the facility’s size. Both figures come from the company’s April 30, 2013 announcement, rather than an independent measurement. Read the announcement.
The 16,000 square feet refers to the announced addition—not a confirmed total for the facility after the work. The release said the new space would be within the same building, rather than at a separate New York site.
Where was the facility?
The data center was at 65 Broadway in Lower Manhattan’s Financial District. Equinix had identified the 65 Broadway site as NY10 in a September 2012 announcement about its planned sale of 16 U.S. data centers to an investment group that included 365 Main. That announcement establishes the planned sale and site identification, not the closing details of the transaction. Equinix’s announcement.

Why did the company say it was expanding?
365 Main attributed the expansion to customer demand. It said the added capacity was intended to serve new customers as well as additional requirements from existing customers. CEO Chris Dolan framed the move as part of the company’s customer-service strategy, saying: “365 Main is committed to meeting rapidly growing customer demand in New York and other critical geographies,” and “Strategic expansion is at the core of the 365 Main customer service plan, from the moment we acquired our 16 data centers in 2012.” These are statements from the company’s announcement, not independent assessments of demand or strategy.
What happened after the announcement?
Contemporary coverage followed the announcement in May 2013. Data Center Knowledge reported on May 2 that 365 Main was expanding the New York facility, then reported on May 15 that InfoRelay had opened a New York facility in the newly expanded space at 65 Broadway. The latter provides an example of a customer using the added space; it does not establish the total capacity or occupancy of the site. May 2 report and May 15 report.

Do later facility sheets confirm the current size?
No single current area can be established from the available operator materials. A 365 Data Centers NY10 sheet lists 16,000 square feet for 65 Broadway, while a separate 65 Broadway sheet lists 9,800 square feet. The figures conflict, and neither should be treated as a verified current total or used to reinterpret the 16,000-square-foot addition announced in 2013.
| Material | Area stated | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| 365 Main announcement, April 30, 2013 | 16,000 additional square feet | Announced expansion within the existing building; the company said this would double the facility’s size. Source |
| 365 Data Centers NY10 facility sheet | 16,000 square feet | Operator-listed area in a facility sheet hosted under a 2023/05 URL. Source |
| 365 Data Centers 65 Broadway facility sheet | 9,800 square feet | Conflicting operator-listed area in a facility sheet hosted under a 2023/03 URL. Source |
The NY10 sheet also describes UPS, generator, cooling, cabinet, connectivity, security, customer-care, and remote-hands provisions. Those are operator-reported specifications, not independently tested findings. The operator’s facilities directory and 2025 company overview include 65 Broadway, but that does not establish current occupancy, availability, pricing, or whether the 2013 expansion remains in service in the same configuration.
