This is a historical roundup of three developments reported on June 12, 2025—not a current market or weather update. Grain and soybean futures were little changed overnight as traders awaited USDA reports; ethanol production reached a reported record for the week ending June 6; and flood watches covered parts of the south-central United States.
1. Grain and soybean futures were little changed before USDA reports
Corn, soybean and wheat futures changed little in overnight trading on June 12, 2025, as market participants positioned ahead of that day’s USDA supply-and-demand reports. The contemporaneous prices and detailed stock estimates are reported in Tony Dreibus’s Agriculture.com / Successful Farming roundup.
The stock figures in the article were not USDA results. They were estimates from a Reuters poll of analysts, covering U.S. and global ending stocks for corn, soybeans and wheat and comparing expectations with the May outlook. They should be read as forecasts available before the reports, not as confirmed supply figures.
2. Ethanol production reportedly set a record
For the week ending June 6, 2025, the roundup reported Energy Information Administration figures showing U.S. ethanol production averaging 1.12 million barrels per day, which it described as the highest level since record-keeping began in 2010. Midwest production averaged 1.061 million barrels per day, also described as a record.

Ethanol inventories were reported at 23.734 million barrels for that week, down from 24.44 million barrels the previous week. The article described the level as the lowest since the week ending December 27. These are historical figures as reported in June 2025, not current production or inventory data.
3. Flood watches covered parts of the south-central U.S.
On June 12, 2025, the roundup reported flood watches for much of eastern Texas and southeastern Oklahoma, as well as parts of southeastern Arkansas and northern Louisiana. The forecast cited several rounds of rain and as much as 7 inches in the region; that estimate was a period-specific outlook, not present-day guidance.
