Bridal shower favors are optional. If you choose to give them, start with something guests can eat, use, plant, or connect to the shower’s theme—not an item that strains your budget or leaves guests with clutter. Compare the full per-guest cost, order minimums, and delivery time before choosing; prices and stock change, so verify them with the seller.
How to choose bridal shower favors
Decide what the favor should do before shopping: serve as a treat, provide a useful everyday item, or reinforce the event theme. Then check whether the choice works for your guests and your budget.
- Set a total budget. Include packaging, custom labels, shipping, and any order minimum—not just the listed price per item. The Knot offers $1–$5 as a broad example range for many favors and says there is no pressure to spend more than $10 per favor. These are editorial suggestions, not current quotes or spending statistics.
- Match quantity to the event. Etsy’s general wedding-favor guidance suggests one favor per guest, while noting that higher-priced items may be ordered per family or couple. Treat that as a starting point and decide what fits your shower format.
- Check lead time. Personalized orders may require extra production and shipping time. Confirm the seller’s current timeline and minimum order before committing.
- Consider guest needs. Check ingredients and allergies for edible and beauty favors, suitability and alternatives for alcohol, and care requirements for plants.
- Think about the trip home. Small, sturdy favors are easier to carry than fragile or bulky items. Edible and useful gifts are also less likely to become unwanted keepsakes.
The host typically buys favors, though family members or friends may share the cost. The Knot’s favor guide says they are not necessary and describes them as a thoughtful way to thank guests; useful options are a sensible place to start.
