The U.S. 23andMe data-breach settlement is finalized, and the window to file a new claim has closed. The court approved a final settlement amount of $46.75 million on July 7, 2026; the settlement administrator says payments for approved claims were issued September 29 and 30, 2026. If you filed, check your claim or payment directly with the administrator. If you qualify for the included monitoring service, enrollment may still be available.
Can you still get money from the 23andMe settlement?
You cannot submit an ordinary new claim now. The claim deadline was February 17, 2026, and the deadline to cure a deficient claim was June 12, 2026; both have passed. The settlement administrator says it reviewed submitted claims and issued payments for approved claims on September 29 and 30, 2026. Those are reported issue dates—not confirmation that every recipient has received or cashed a payment. The official settlement site has the current status.
If you already filed and have not received a payment, or you received a deficiency notice, contact the administrator about your individual claim. The administrator says a late deficiency cure may or may not be considered valid, so do not assume that a late form will be accepted.
Who was eligible for the U.S. settlement?
The U.S. settlement class covered people who met all three conditions: they were 23andMe customers from May 1 through October 1, 2023, lived in the United States during that period, and received a notice from 23andMe that their personal information was compromised. The settlement site describes the class as approximately 6.4 million U.S. residents. Having had a 23andMe account at some other time, by itself, does not establish eligibility.

How much could an eligible claimant receive?
The settlement’s listed benefits depended on the claim category. The figures below describe the published benefit terms, not guaranteed payments to individual class members. New claims are no longer being accepted.

The $46.75 million figure is the court-approved final settlement amount, not the amount each person receives. It should not be divided among class members to estimate an individual payout. The settlement overview and benefit terms are available on the official settlement site.

Have your claim details and any notice from the administrator available when you contact them. Only the administrator can confirm what happened in your individual case.

The official documents page lists the settlement agreement, benefits plan, final approval order, claim form, and deficiency cure form: settlement documents and important dates. The court-authorized site identifies itself as the only authorized website for this settlement.

The settlement site says enrollment in Privacy & Medical Shield + Genetic Monitoring is open and requires the unique enrollment code. The service term is five years. The site also says someone who took no action may still have an opportunity to participate in monitoring, but will not receive cash reimbursement or statutory benefits. Check the official site for the enrollment route and use your code; do not assume that being in the class automatically enrolled you.
