European launch coverage put its starting price at €62,990, while U.S. launch coverage listed $59,130. Those are launch-era figures from different markets—not a like-for-like price comparison. The car brings a 360-mile WLTP estimate in Europe, performance upgrades and carbon-fiber cabin trim; U.S. range figures use the EPA cycle and are lower.
When did the 2026 Model Y Performance launch?
Tesla announced the refreshed Model Y Performance for Europe on August 29, 2025. Its UK announcement said the Europe-bound vehicle would be built at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. U.S. orders followed in October 2025. The “2026” model-year label therefore does not mean the vehicle first launched in calendar year 2026.
Tesla’s UK announcement gives the European specification. Car and Driver’s October 1, 2025 report covered the U.S. launch.
How do the reported prices and ranges compare?
The launch prices and range estimates below are tied to their respective markets and sources. WLTP and EPA are different test cycles, so the mile figures should not be read as a direct performance comparison.

The European and U.S. prices are in different currencies and may reflect different tax and incentive treatment. The cited launch reports do not establish a tax-adjusted, like-for-like comparison. Tesla’s current U.S. Model Y page displays 306 miles; that later figure differs from the 308-mile EPA estimate reported at the U.S. launch.
What performance specifications did Tesla announce?
Tesla’s August 2025 UK announcement lists 460 horsepower, a 0–60 mph time of 3.3 seconds and a 155 mph top speed. It also gives consumption of 26.07 kWh/100 miles and a 360-mile WLTP range. These are manufacturer-published figures, not independent owner-test results.

The word “longer” needs a specific comparison: the announcement lists 580 km WLTP for Performance and 586 km WLTP for Long Range AWD. That means the Performance is not the longest-range Model Y variant in that comparison. Tesla describes the new Performance as having 10% less drag and 64% lower lift than earlier Model Y Performance vehicles; those aerodynamic comparisons do not establish an individual driver’s energy use or real-world range.

Cabin and display
The interior adds carbon-fiber dashboard and door inserts, Performance front seats with powered thigh-cushion extenders, and a 16-inch center display. Tesla says the display has nearly 80% more pixels than the 15.4-inch screen in other Model Y variants.

Exterior and chassis
Outside, the Performance has a carbon-fiber rear spoiler and revised front and rear fascias. Other listed equipment includes adaptive suspension and forged 21-inch wheels. The spoiler and revised fascias are exterior details, not cabin trim.

What should buyers take from the launch figures?
- Use the European €62,990 and U.S. $59,130 figures as launch-era reported prices, not current purchase quotes.
- Keep WLTP and EPA range estimates separate; they use different test cycles.
- Do not assume the Performance has more range than every Model Y: the cited WLTP comparison puts Long Range AWD slightly ahead.
- For a purchase decision, confirm current local pricing, taxes, incentives, configuration and range display with Tesla for the relevant market.
