HousingWire’s 2026 profile describes 10 years of sales work at ICE Mortgage Technology and five years at Black Knight Financial Services. It says he led enterprise sales with lenders including Chase and M&T Bank and worked with more than 300 lenders nationwide. Tidalwave’s February 2025 appointment announcement also cites 10 years at ICE and five at Black Knight, and characterizes his industry experience as more than 25 years. The sources use different phrasing for his ICE title, so it is more precise to describe the shared experience than to assign him a definitive title history.
How HousingWire describes his commercial strategy
HousingWire says McLendon’s go-to-market approach addressed lenders facing margin compression. The profile reports that the offering was priced around a target of $1,500 in savings per loan while maintaining positive company unit economics. That is a strategy and pricing claim attributed to HousingWire, not an audited measure of savings realized by lenders.

Focus on volume and revenue
According to HousingWire, McLendon prioritized high-volume customers, linked contracts to loan volume and ended pilots that did not generate revenue. HousingWire names NEXA Lending, First Colony Mortgage, Flat Branch Home Loans and DHI Mortgage as customers deploying Tidalwave’s platform in production. The same profile says Tidalwave’s target is to have 15,000 loans per month under contract by the end of 2026. Those are distinct claims: the named deployments are described as current in the profile, while the monthly loan figure is a future target, not an achieved result.

What is known about Tidalwave and SOLO?
In its February 18, 2025 announcement of McLendon’s appointment as chief revenue officer, Tidalwave described SOLO as its flagship AI platform for automating mortgage underwriting tasks. That announcement establishes how the company presented the product and role at the time; it is not an independent assessment of SOLO’s capabilities or results.

What HousingWire reported about Tidalwave’s financing
HousingWire says McLendon helped structure a $22 million Series A led by Permanent Capital, with participation from D.R. Horton. The amount and participants are reported by HousingWire’s 2026 profile; they have not been independently verified here against transaction filings or investor announcements. The figure should therefore be understood as a profile-reported financing claim, not as a separately confirmed transaction record.
