The singles runner-up award was $2,500,000, while each winning men’s, women’s or mixed-doubles team was allocated $1,000,000.
The tournament also publicized $90.0 million in total player compensation. That broader figure included hotel and per-diem support plus US Open Wheelchair Championships prize money, so it should not be treated as a $90 million singles prize pool.
2025 US Open singles prize money
The USTA listed the same main-draw payout schedule for men’s and women’s singles. These are announced awards for each finishing round, not verified payments to named players.

What the $90 million US Open purse includes
The USTA reported $90.0 million in 2025 total player compensation, compared with $75 million in 2024. That is a 20% increase in the headline compensation figure, but it is not a single event or singles-only purse.
- Prize money across the tournament’s events
- Hotel and per-diem support
- US Open Wheelchair Championships prize money
Keeping those components together explains why the $90 million total is much larger than the $5 million award for either singles champion.

Doubles and mixed-doubles awards
Doubles figures are quoted per team, not per player. A team’s award is therefore divided between its two members under the applicable player arrangements.

Singles qualifying prize money
Players who came through qualifying had their own announced schedule. The USTA described men’s and women’s qualifying prize money together as $8 million, a record and a 10% increase.

These benefits should not be added to a player’s prize-money award when comparing tournament payouts.
How to compare US Open payouts accurately
Use five checks whenever you compare a figure:
- Year: Prize schedules change, so identify 2025 rather than treating the amount as permanent.
- Format: Singles, doubles and mixed doubles have different awards.
- Round: Champion, finalist and earlier-round payouts are not interchangeable.
- Unit: Singles amounts are per player; doubles champion amounts are per team.
- Definition: “Total player compensation” can include benefits and wheelchair-event prize money, while a listed award is a specific prize payment.
What is—and is not—established about the winners
The USTA announcement establishes the scheduled 2025 payout amounts. It does not, by itself, verify the names of the eventual singles champions or confirm that a particular player received a payment. The precise, supportable statement is that each 2025 men’s and women’s singles champion was set to earn $5 million under the announced schedule.
