The 2025 Black Friday promotions from Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Kohl’s are over. Their advertised prices, coupons, price-match windows, Kohl’s Cash offers, and holiday return extensions expired in late 2025 or early 2026. This guide preserves the 2025 schedules and deal examples as a reference—not as a list of offers you can still claim.
The biggest takeaway was that Black Friday was not a single shopping day. All four retailers released deals early, and some began promotions weeks before November 28, 2025.

Walmart Black Friday deals and timing
Walmart divided its 2025 promotion into three Black Friday Deals Events instead of concentrating every offer on November 28. The first event ran November 14–16. The second ran November 25–30, followed by a Cyber Monday event on December 1.
Walmart+ members received five hours of early online access to the main event. That access began Monday, November 24, at 7 p.m. Eastern Time. General online access began Tuesday, November 25, at midnight Eastern Time. A Walmart+ subscription was not required to shop the deals; it simply provided earlier access.

Physical stores began Black Friday shopping at 6 a.m. local time on Friday, November 28. Because hours could vary, Walmart directed shoppers to the Walmart app or Walmart.com/storefinder for local information.

Walmart also promoted thousands of items priced below $20 and discounts of up to 60% on selected brands. Those were advertised offers, not guaranteed inventory: availability, quantity limits, and posted terms applied.
Target Black Friday deals and promotions
Target used a rolling holiday schedule. Its Deal of the Day program ran from November 1 through December 24, with one-day offers of up to 50% off. New weeklong deals began each Sunday from November 2 through Christmas Eve.
The retailer’s early Black Friday sale ran November 6–8. Black Friday week followed from November 23–29, with the archived ad listing a doorbuster period from November 27–29. Target posted its nearly 80-page 2025 ad on November 20.

- Up to 50% off floor-care products and small appliances.
- Up to $200 off select Apple devices.
- Up to 40% off technology, including headphones, TVs, and wearables.
- 40% off select LEGO products.
- Up to 50% off select toys.
- 30% off select Levi’s apparel.
Target stores were closed on Thanksgiving Day and reopened early Friday, with exact hours determined by location. Target Circle members could receive personalized offers, while the Target Circle Card provided 5% off eligible purchases under the card program’s rules.
Target also offered a Holiday Price Match Guarantee from November 1 through December 24, 2025. The policy allowed a lower Target price later in the season to be matched in eligible cases, subject to exclusions and the retailer’s terms.
Best Buy Black Friday technology deals
Best Buy started its holiday push earlier than the other retailers listed here. DoorBOOsters began October 31, 2025, with additional select-tech doorbusters released on Fridays. Its main Black Friday Sale began Thursday, November 20—not Friday, November 28.
The main event covered computing, gaming, home theater, wearables, and other electronics. Customers could shop through BestBuy.com, the Best Buy app, and stores. A Cyber Sunday and Monday sale began November 30 and included up to 50% off select technology.

Best Buy stores were closed on Thanksgiving, November 27, although online and app shopping continued. My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members could receive up to $25 in bonus rewards on selected doorbuster events. The bonus applied only to eligible products and under the membership terms.
Best Buy policies that mattered
Best Buy’s holiday return policy generally extended returns for most gifts purchased from October 31 through December 31, 2025, until January 15, 2026. Plus and Total members generally had until January 31, 2026. Product exclusions and policy conditions applied.
The Holiday Price Match Guarantee covered eligible price reductions, but it was not unlimited. Best Buy’s disclaimers specifically warned shoppers about limited quantities, no rain checks, changing offers, and deals that could start before or end after the dates shown in an advertisement.
Kohl’s Black Friday deals, doorbusters, and Kohl’s Cash
Kohl’s offered an Early Access event from November 7–9, then expanded the promotion into Black Friday Week from Sunday, November 23, through Saturday, November 29.

The store was closed on Thanksgiving Day. Black Friday doorbusters began online at 12:01 a.m. Central Time on Thursday, November 27, and in stores at 5 a.m. local time on Friday, November 28. The doorbusters continued through Saturday, November 29. The first 200 customers at each store on Friday could also receive promotional Kohl’s Cash worth between $5 and $100, while supplies lasted.

Kohl’s Black Friday doorbuster examples
- 50% off select toys, games, and puzzles.
- Select boots priced at $19.99 or less.
- Selected Skyway Flair or Swiss Mobility luggage for $59.99.
- Selected Shark robot or cordless upright vacuums for $99.99.
- Selected Toastmaster kitchen appliances for $11.75.
- Selected Carter’s baby multipacks and character sets for $8.99.
Kohl’s also advertised $15 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent during Black Friday Week, plus an extra 15% off qualifying purchases. Kohl’s Cash could not be used for Sephora merchandise, gift cards, Kohl’s Cares merchandise, price adjustments, taxes, shipping, or certain payments and fees. That made the effective value lower than the headline promotion for shoppers buying excluded items or failing to use the reward within its redemption period.

- Check the date range first. A deal in a November 25–30 event was not necessarily available on November 14 or November 28.
- Separate online and store timing. Walmart’s early access was online, while store openings were location-based. Kohl’s online doorbusters began hours before its stores opened.
- Read the product qualifiers. Phrases such as “select,” “eligible,” and “while supplies last” can exclude specific models, colors, sizes, or locations.
- Value rewards separately from the purchase price. Kohl’s Cash and retailer-card discounts had restrictions and should not automatically be treated as cash discounts at checkout.
- Do not assume a price match is automatic. Target and Best Buy both listed exclusions and eligibility requirements.
- Compare the total cost. Include sales tax, shipping, membership fees, required accessories, and any reward that might expire before you can use it.
For personal-finance purposes, the best deal was not necessarily the item with the largest percentage reduction. A smaller discount on an item already planned for can be better than a large discount that triggers an unplanned purchase or requires a paid membership.
