Rolex raised list prices in 2022, with steel professional watches generally seeing larger increases than many other models. The change was not uniform: Professional Watches reported an average 3.4% increase across U.S. retail prices, while its U.S. Submariner 124060 example rose 10.5%. These are historical suggested retail prices—not current prices, secondary-market values, or proof of what an individual buyer paid.
What changed in the 2022 Rolex price list?
The clearest pattern in the published comparisons is that steel professional models—including the Submariner, Daytona, GMT-Master II and Explorer—often rose by roughly 10% or more. Other steel models, including many Datejust and Oyster Perpetual references, saw smaller increases. That difference matters: “Rolex prices rose” does not mean every watch rose by the same percentage.

Professional Watches reported a 3.4% average increase across U.S. Rolex retail prices effective January 1, 2022. In the same U.S. comparison, the steel Submariner 124060 rose from $8,100 in 2021 to $8,950 in 2022, a reported 10.5% increase. The Oyster Perpetual 124300, also steel, rose from $5,900 to $6,150, a reported 4.2% increase. Market-specific examples
Rolex list prices varied by country, and the cited examples are not interchangeable. The table keeps each price attached to its market and configuration. Changes are calculated from the reported prior and 2022 prices; the percentages are those reported by the cited publisher.

Why steel sports models stood out—and what the evidence does not establish
Monochrome Watches’ French-market overview describes increases of about 10–11% for most steel professional models, compared with about 3–4% for steel Datejust and Oyster Perpetual models. It also notes smaller changes for many precious-metal and Rolesor models. Monochrome discusses inflation, input costs, wages, worker shortages, supply constraints and strong demand as possible context for the increases. Those are the publisher’s analysis, not a documented explanation from Rolex. The cited evidence does not establish an official Rolex rationale for the specific 2022 adjustment.

A January 2022 discussion in r/rolex asked whether someone on an authorized-dealer waitlist would pay the newer price if the watch arrived the following year. The forum captures the question, but it is not an authoritative statement of Rolex or dealer policy. The 2022 price comparisons alone cannot establish which price a specific buyer would have been charged at delivery. For an actual order or waitlist arrangement, the relevant dealer’s written terms and the price in effect when the sale is completed are the practical points to confirm.
