Who are the 20 highest-paid goalkeepers in the July 2025 list?
The figures below reproduce Lente Desportiva’s ranking published on July 8, 2025. They are reported weekly wage estimates in pounds sterling, not confirmed take-home pay.

Lente Desportiva’s July 8, 2025 ranking does not identify its underlying contract data or state whether these amounts are gross or net, base wages or total compensation, or inclusive of bonuses and image rights. Treat the numbers as estimates attributed to that outlet, rather than verified salary statements.
Why do goalkeeper salary rankings change?
Publication date matters. In a later list published October 20, 2025, the same outlet estimated Neuer at £343,300 per week, Oblak at £340,500 and Courtois at £245,200. The values differ from the July list, and the later article covers 41 goalkeepers rather than 20. It is evidence that published estimates can vary, not independent confirmation of either set of figures. See the October 2025 list for that later snapshot.

When comparing salary rankings, check the publication date and who is included, as well as how the publisher defines salary. A meaningful comparison also needs clarity on currency conversion, gross versus net pay, bonuses and image rights, and the source of the contract figures. The two Lente Desportiva articles do not settle all of those questions.
What does research say about goalkeeper salaries?
A 2023 study in European Sport Management Quarterly examined a dataset of 260 goalkeepers across the Premier League, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga over seven seasons, from 2013/14 through 2019/20. Its abstract reports a positive association between goalkeeper ball-distribution features and salary. That historical, population-level finding does not validate any individual figure in the 2025 ranking. The study is available at European Sport Management Quarterly.
