GeekWire reported the graduation on June 30, 2025, describing it as the hub’s fourth session since its 2021 launch. “Latest” here refers to that 2025 announcement: CDL’s current site says applications are open for the 2026/27 program year, but the available sources do not confirm a later Seattle graduating class.
What the 2025 graduation means
The 19 companies completed CDL-Seattle’s program, which is based at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. Graduation means completion of the accelerator; it does not establish that a company received investment, launched commercially, secured customers, gained regulatory clearance, or achieved product-market fit. GeekWire’s cohort announcement groups the startups into manufacturing and computational health.
CDL’s company directory corroborates the cohort names and categories, though it includes companies from more than one class. The dated graduation report is the source for identifying these 19 as the 2025 graduates.

- The great secret of our time is that there are still uncharted frontiers to explore and new inventions to create. In Zero to One, legendary entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel shows how we can find singular ways to create those new things.

These are descriptions of intended products and markets, not evidence of clinical efficacy, regulatory approval, or routine use. The cohort announcement does not report those outcomes.
Which graduates are based in the Seattle area?
Five of the 19 companies are listed in Washington: Ocean in Tacoma; AffableBPM in Sammamish; and MindMirror, ModernVivo, and Remmie Health in Seattle. The remaining graduates are based elsewhere in the United States and internationally. They are graduates of a Seattle-based program, not all Seattle startups. CDL’s directory lists Remmie rather than the graduation report’s name, Remmie Health.

How CDL-Seattle works
Creative Destruction Lab describes itself as an objectives-based program for seed-stage science and technology companies. The Seattle hub was launched in partnership with the University of Washington and Microsoft, and its base is at UW’s Foster School of Business. The original Seattle program emphasized computational health; the 2025 class also included a distinct manufacturing group.
GeekWire’s 2021 launch coverage describes a nine-month structure with mentors from business and investment communities, milestones and checkpoints. It reported that companies could be removed for failing to meet certain standards. The same coverage, along with the 2025 cohort report, says CDL does not take equity. That model distinguishes the program from accelerators that exchange capital for an ownership stake, but it does not mean participants are guaranteed funding or other financing.

What stands out in the cohort
Manufacturing meets software and AI
The manufacturing group ranges from logistics automation and factory support to documentation, product certification, building materials and semiconductor production. AI appears in several of the company descriptions, but the broader theme is technology aimed at complex industrial workflows rather than consumer applications.
Computational health covers more than healthcare software
The health group includes bacterial DNA analysis, cancer-related pathology and detection, cognitive assessment, injury diagnostics, ENT care and software for therapy manufacturing. “Computational health” is therefore a broad category: it spans software and data tools as well as products tied to biology, diagnostics and clinical settings.
Rank #4
Seattle is a hub, not a geographic boundary
The graduates’ locations show a global cohort connected through a regional program. That can bring Seattle-based mentors and institutions into contact with companies addressing industrial and health problems elsewhere, while the five Washington companies provide a direct local connection.
These sectors also carry different commercialization challenges. Health and diagnostic products may need validation and regulatory review; factory, laboratory and semiconductor tools must fit into established workflows. The graduation announcement does not provide company-level evidence about progress on those fronts.

What the $190 million figure does—and does not—say
GeekWire reported that CDL-Seattle graduates had raised at least $190 million since 2022. The figure is an aggregate across graduates over multiple years, not a funding total for these 19 companies alone. The report does not give a company-by-company breakdown or explain the calculation, so it should not be treated as an independently verified measure of this cohort’s performance or converted into an average per startup.
What is not established by the announcement
- Individual funding amounts, revenue, customers or commercial adoption.
- Clinical validation, regulatory approvals or diagnostic performance for health-related products.
- Applicant totals, acceptance rate, mentor names or the specific objectives used by this session.
- Company survival, acquisitions or other outcomes after graduation.
CDL’s current homepage describes a network of 17 locations and 23 streams and says applications are open for the 2026/27 program year. Those current network figures do not establish that a Seattle cohort graduated after the June 2025 class.
