A supercar can have a surprisingly low purchase price—and still be an expensive financial mistake. In the U.S. market, current advertised floors run from about $18,000 for an older Maserati GranTurismo to nearly $100,000 for a used Acura NSX. Those are listing prices, not the amount you should budget.
This list uses U.S. Cars.com asking-price floors observed on August 8, 2026. The cheapest listing may have high mileage, accident history, deferred maintenance, unusual specifications, or a salvage-related history. Before treating any of these cars as affordable, price the inspection, insurance, tires, brakes, fluids, repairs, and a cash reserve for failures.
What counts as a supercar here?
“Supercar” has no formal industry definition. This list therefore combines traditional exotics with cars that offer exotic styling, mid-engine layouts, V8 or V10 performance, or comparable performance. It does not include fast but conventional sports cars such as the Toyota GR Supra, Ford Mustang, or Nissan Z.
The figures below are observed advertised starting prices. They are useful for finding the market floor, but they are not reliable estimates of what a clean, well-documented example will cost.

Prices are rounded or qualified where the source displayed a model-data floor rather than a clearly comparable current listing. The Maserati and Aston Martin figures are especially close, so the difference between $17,988 and $19,995 should not drive a purchase decision.
What each bargain deserves you to investigate
Maserati GranTurismo and Aston Martin DB7
These are the entry points for buyers attracted to badge value and grand-touring comfort. Their low listing prices are also a warning: age, cosmetic condition, incomplete records, and deferred mechanical work can dominate the ownership budget. A $20,000 car with years of postponed maintenance may be less affordable than a $35,000 example with documentation and recent major service.
Jaguar F-Type R and Aston Martin V8 Vantage
The F-Type R supplies the more obvious performance bargain, but verify that a listing is actually the V8 R model. For the Vantage, a specialist should examine the clutch, cooling system, electronics, and service history. On both cars, tire and brake condition can materially change the amount of cash needed immediately after purchase.

BMW i8
The i8 looks like a conventional exotic but uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Do not approve a purchase based only on engine operation and a clean dashboard. Have the high-voltage battery, charging system, hybrid controls, and related diagnostic data evaluated by a qualified specialist.
Porsche 911 Turbo, Lotus Evora, and Dodge Viper
These cars appeal to buyers who want serious performance without a Ferrari or Lamborghini price tag. The $41,900 911 Turbo figure is tied to one older convertible listing, while Evora pricing changes significantly with trim. The Viper’s large-displacement V10 and manual transmission make it distinctive, but early cars and neglected examples can still require expensive work.
Corvette Z06
A C6 Z06 can be the most familiar and serviceable car in this group, but it is still a high-performance machine. Confirm the year, trim, title, mileage, and accident history. Do not rely on an apparently spectacular price generated by a search filter; mismatched or incomplete inventory can create false “starting” figures.

Ferrari 360 Modena
The Ferrari is the clearest example of why a database floor is not a shopping budget. Cars.com model data showed a $46,500 starting point, yet visible dealer inventory was generally much higher. Treat the low number as an item to verify, not as evidence that a normal, clean 360 can be bought for that amount.
Nissan GT-R, Mercedes-AMG GT, and Audi R8
These models have wider availability than many traditional exotics, but their low prices still need explanation. Ask whether the GT-R has launch-control abuse or modification history. For the AMG GT, compare the base, S, and R versions rather than treating the nameplate as one trim. For an R8, verify whether it is a V8 or V10 and obtain a specialist inspection before assuming a near-$50,000 listing is a bargain.
Lamborghini Gallardo, McLaren 570S, and second-generation Acura NSX
At this end of the list, the purchase price is only one part of the financial test. Gallardo buyers should document the transmission, clutch, service history, and specification. McLaren shoppers should inspect carbon-fiber components, suspension, warranty status, and specialist servicing. NSX buyers need a hybrid-system inspection and should keep the second-generation car separate from the very different first-generation market.

How to budget for a cheap supercar
- Set an all-in ceiling. Decide how much cash you can commit after taxes, registration, transport, insurance, and immediate repairs—not just the advertised price.
- Keep a repair reserve. Do not use every available dollar for the purchase. A low-mileage exotic with no records is not automatically safer than a higher-mileage car with complete documentation.
- Get a brand-specific pre-purchase inspection. A general inspection is not enough for a Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Aston Martin, Maserati, Audi R8, or hybrid NSX.
- Verify the vehicle’s identity and history. Check the VIN, title status, accident history, mileage, import history, and service documentation. Match the VIN on the car to the listing and paperwork.
- Price wear items before making an offer. Ask the inspector to assess tires, brakes, fluids, cooling systems, clutch or transmission condition, suspension components, electronics, and—where applicable—the hybrid battery system.
- Compare total ownership cost, not just entry price. Obtain insurance quotes and identify a qualified repair shop before buying. A car that is cheap to acquire but difficult to service is not necessarily the financially better choice.
One more Ferrari worth knowing about
The Ferrari F430 falls just outside the cheapest 16 in this snapshot. Cars.com showed a starting price of $103,900 and a national average of $265,653. It is a legitimate supercar, but current asking prices usually place it above the low-cost group listed here.
Why “cheapest” can be misleading
A listing floor is not a market value. It can reflect one unusually rough car, a dealer’s incomplete inventory, a high-mileage example, an auction-style price, accident damage, or a title problem. The gap between a database starting price and visible dealer listings is particularly large for the Ferrari 360, Nissan GT-R, Maserati GranTurismo, and Aston Martin models.
Likewise, the claim that a Corvette is automatically the cheapest supercar depends on the definition. If the comparison includes all Corvettes or only new vehicles, that may be defensible. Across used exotics and supercar-adjacent cars, older Aston Martins, Maseratis, Jaguars, and Porsches can have lower advertised floors.
