The holiday content most likely to convert in 2026 is content that helps people decide what to buy, feel confident about the choice, or complete the purchase without friction. A gift guide should lead to relevant products; a quiz should deliver a useful recommendation; a shipping update should point to an option that can still arrive on time. Treat “convert” as a measurable next action—such as a product-page visit, signup, booking, add-to-cart, purchase, or repeat order—not simply a view or like.

Google’s 2025 holiday research found that 38% of U.S. holiday shoppers surveyed did more pre-purchase research than during the rest of the year, and 61% said they were becoming more selective about spending. Those findings support a practical approach: answer questions about value, product fit, and convenience, then make the next step clear. Google’s holiday shopper findings and recommendations

What makes holiday content convert in 2026?

Holiday shoppers move among search, video, social platforms, email, and product pages. A useful campaign connects those touchpoints with accurate, consistent product information and a clear path to buy or book. Google’s July 2026 guidance highlights accurate product feeds, seasonal content, creator material, YouTube Shorts, and direct paths from video ads to checkout. Build each asset around one uncertainty and one primary action. Before publishing, decide who it serves, what question it answers, what proof supports the recommendation, where the call to action leads, how results will be measured, and what must change when stock or deadlines change.

  • Value: Is the purchase worth the price?
  • Product confidence: Is it suitable for this person or need?
  • Convenience: Can it be bought, received, exchanged, or booked without a surprise?

15 holiday content marketing ideas

1. Build gift guides around real buying situations

Replace one catch-all holiday guide with focused guides such as “Gifts for new homeowners,” “Best gifts under $50,” “Gifts for remote workers,” “Stocking stuffers,” or “Gifts that can arrive before December 24.” These match how people search and make recommendations easier to scan.

Show each item’s price, intended recipient or use, availability, delivery information, and return considerations. Add filters or jump links, and link recommendations directly to product pages rather than the homepage. Google recommends high-intent seasonal content such as gift guides and product landing pages. Google holiday essentials

  • CTA: Shop a recommended item or view the full guide.
  • Measure: Product clicks, add-to-cart rate, conversion rate, and assisted revenue by guide.
  • Best fit: Retailers with enough relevant products and the ability to keep recommendations current.

2. Launch a gift-finder quiz

Ask only questions that change the recommendation: who the gift is for, budget, interests, preferred style, delivery timing, and whether the purchase is for an individual, household, or team. Give a concise result—one primary pick and two alternatives—and explain why each fits. A long catalog disguised as a quiz adds friction instead of reducing it.

Deliver initial value before asking for an email. Offer to save or email the result, then use answers for relevant follow-up where the customer has consented. Shopify describes quizzes as a way to collect first-party data while personalizing product recommendations and subsequent email campaigns. Shopify on holiday shopping and personalization

  • CTA: View the recommended product or save the results.
  • Measure: Quiz completion, result-to-product click-through, signup rate, and quiz completion-to-purchase rate.
  • Best fit: Stores with genuinely confusing product choices and recommendations that can be meaningfully personalized.

3. Publish “help me choose” comparisons

Compare products, sizes, bundles, subscriptions, or service options where shoppers routinely hesitate. Include who each option suits, who it may not suit, price, included features, setup or delivery time, and return or exchange considerations. End with a short recommendation, not a forced claim that one choice is best for everyone.

Use a comparison table when the options share comparable attributes, with a separate CTA for each. Link to a quiz or consultation for people who still cannot decide. Never imply independent testing or make unsupported competitor claims.

  • CTA: Choose an option or get help selecting one.
  • Measure: Option clicks, add-to-cart or booking rate, and conversion by comparison page.
  • Best fit: Brands with several plausible choices and recurring questions about differences.

4. Turn customer reviews into useful gift-confidence content

Organize authentic customer feedback by recipient, use case, and common concern. A review about a product’s size, setup, durability, or suitability for a particular recipient can answer more than an isolated five-star rating. Repurpose relevant excerpts in product pages, emails, roundups, and short videos, with appropriate permission and moderation.

Yotpo’s product information describes review and user-generated-content distribution across ecommerce and other platforms. That capability is useful only if the business has relevant customer content and a process for obtaining permission. Yotpo product and pricing information

  • CTA: See the product that the review discusses.
  • Measure: Conversion on pages with relevant review content, review engagement, and assisted revenue.
  • Best fit: Products whose suitability is easier to judge from real customer experience.

5. Make creator videos that demonstrate the product

Ask creators to show what arrives, its scale and texture, how it is used, what is included, and who is likely to appreciate it. An honest “what may not suit you” detail can make the rest of the demonstration more credible. Useful formats include an unboxing, a comparison, a setup guide, or a few gift picks for a defined audience.

Google’s July 2026 guidance reports that 94% of holiday shoppers who used YouTube took a further purchase-related step after watching a related video. Google also reports an average 6% conversion lift among advertisers using Checkout URLs in Demand Gen campaigns. These are platform-reported findings, not forecasts for every brand or campaign. Google’s July 2026 Demand Gen update

Use trackable links, codes, platform reporting, and post-purchase surveys together. Views and reach alone do not establish creator-driven sales. Disclose commercial relationships as required, and repurpose approved footage on product pages, in email, and in short-form edits.

  • CTA: Shop the demonstrated product or view the relevant guide.
  • Measure: Tracked visits and purchases, product-page conversion after video exposure, and assisted revenue.
  • Best fit: Products whose appearance, quality, or use is hard to explain with static images.

6. Make short-form video answer one buying question

Build a series of single-question clips: “Which size should I buy?”, “What fits inside?”, “Is it suitable for beginners?”, “What comes in the bundle?”, or “Can I still order for December 24?” Demonstrate the answer rather than relying on a generic festive montage.

Give every clip one next action: visit a product page, take a quiz, view a guide, buy a gift card, or sign up. TikTok’s holiday materials frame content as a route to downstream actions, but its platform-reported findings should not be treated as universal conversion benchmarks. TikTok for Business holiday materials and TikTok holiday playbook

  • Measure: Clicks and conversions alongside watch-through, saves, and shares.
  • Best fit: Products or services that can be explained visually in a short demonstration.

7. Maintain a shipping, availability, and returns hub

Create one reliable page for order-by dates, delivery estimates, regional limits, pickup options, digital delivery, gift cards, in-stock alternatives, return and exchange deadlines, and customer-service contact routes. Link it from gift guides, product pages, checkout, emails, and social profiles.

Marketing cannot keep this promise accurate alone. Assign updates jointly to marketing, operations, fulfillment, and customer support. Google recommends keeping product price, attributes, imagery, specifications, promotions, and availability accurate across Merchant Center and site structured data. Google’s holiday product-information guidance

State delivery estimates with their actual limits: destination, order time, shipping method, inventory, and any relevant carrier conditions. Do not leave a high-ranking guide or ad pointing to an unavailable product without an alternative.

  • CTA: Choose an available delivery or pickup option, or contact support.
  • Measure: Visits to the hub, clicks on available options, support contacts about delivery, and out-of-stock clicks.

8. Prepare a last-minute gift system

Make a separate set of landing pages and creative for products that still work when shipping cutoffs have passed: digital products, gift cards, downloadable items, subscriptions, experiences, reliable local pickup, or same-day delivery where genuinely available.

Show the delivery method before the CTA. Change or pause messages as deadlines expire, and account for geography, time zone, product, inventory, and fulfillment method rather than relying on one deadline for everyone.

  • CTA: Buy a digital gift, select pickup, or choose an eligible experience.
  • Measure: Purchases by delivery method, checkout completion, and support contacts about timing.
  • Best fit: Businesses with a viable non-shipping or late-window offer.

9. Offer a curated bundle builder

Let customers assemble a gift from a small set of useful choices: recipient, budget, category, color, add-on, packaging, or personalization. Show the running total and make the completed selection easy to add to cart. Include a ready-made bundle for shoppers who do not want to customize.

Explain any savings clearly without hiding the original price. Keep choices limited: an open-ended configuration can increase decision fatigue and complicate fulfillment.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • CTA: Add the finished bundle to cart.
  • Measure: Builder completion, bundle conversion, average order value, and gross margin after fulfillment.
  • Best fit: Brands with complementary items and packaging or operations that can reliably support bundles.

10. Create value-led “under $X” content

Build price-tiered recommendations such as “Under $25,” “Under $50,” or “Team gifts under $X per person.” Add useful distinctions—best practical choice, best overall, or most unusual—and explain how the selections were made. Value can mean durability, usefulness, convenience, quality, or reduced risk, not only the lowest price.

Google’s 2025 holiday research found that 61% of U.S. shoppers surveyed said they were becoming more selective about spending. That finding supports clear value communication, but it does not mean every shopper is seeking the cheapest item. Google’s 2025 holiday shopper research

  • CTA: Shop a price tier or compare options.
  • Measure: Product clicks, conversion, average order value, and margin by price-tier landing page.
  • Best fit: Brands with a meaningful range of products and reliable price and stock information.

11. Run a participation campaign with a relevant prize

Examples include a seven-day gift-idea series, a customer holiday setup showcase, a recipe or decorating challenge, a community nomination campaign, or a charity-linked activity. Connect participation to an appropriate next step such as a signup, referral, collection, or content submission.

Keep eligibility and disclosures clear, obtain permission before reusing submitted content, and follow applicable platform rules. A prize unrelated to the business may attract entrants who have no interest in its products; participation volume by itself is not proof of sales impact.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • CTA: Participate, submit an entry, or explore the relevant offer.
  • Measure: Qualified signups, referral activity, content permissions, and purchases by participants.

12. Publish a holiday problem-solving series

Answer practical questions before introducing a product: how to choose for someone you barely know, send gifts to multiple addresses, buy for a small space, avoid duplicates, wrap an awkward shape, manage corporate gifting, or handle post-holiday exchanges.

The format also works beyond ecommerce. A restaurant can explain group ordering; a professional firm can offer a year-end checklist; a service business can make an event-preparation guide; and a B2B company can help customers plan a year-end budget or gifting program. Recommend a product or service only when it genuinely addresses the problem.

  • CTA: Visit the relevant collection, request a consultation, book, or download a useful resource.
  • Measure: Qualified visits, bookings or leads, and downstream conversion.

13. Create genuinely local holiday content

For local businesses, publish details that differ by place: pickup or delivery availability, holiday hours, events, community partnerships, regional use cases, and location-specific inventory. Link to directions, local stock, booking, or pickup rather than a generic store page.

Keep hours and service promises aligned across the website, business profiles, and customer-service scripts. Do not create numerous near-identical city pages if the advice, inventory, or service is not actually different.

  • CTA: Get directions, check local availability, book, or arrange pickup.
  • Measure: Calls, direction requests, bookings, pickup orders, and local-page conversions.
  • Best fit: Businesses whose inventory, service, hours, or advice materially varies by location.

14. Plan post-purchase and post-holiday content

After December 25, help customers set up or care for a product, make an exchange, redeem a gift card, replenish supplies, find an accessory, leave a review after reasonable use, or refer someone. Segment buyers, recipients, gift-card purchasers, first-time customers, and returning customers rather than sending every audience the same offer.

Google identifies December 26 through January 8 as “Q5” and describes it as a potential shopping opportunity. Results will depend on a business’s audience, products, and fulfillment; it is not a guaranteed profitable period. Google on the December 26–January 8 Q5 period

Lead with useful instructions or service information before an upsell, particularly while customers may be handling returns or exchanges.

  • CTA: Get support, redeem a gift card, replenish, review, or refer.
  • Measure: Exchange completion, gift-card redemption, repeat purchase, referrals, and review submissions.

15. Build a content remix system with one source of truth

Turn one accurate source asset—such as a gift guide or product demonstration—into a search page, product-page FAQ, video, short clips, Pinterest collection, email module, paid creative, customer-service response, and clear product information for discovery systems.

Keep the core facts consistent: product name, price, availability, specifications, delivery promise, returns, and intended use. Google recommends accurate feeds and consistent information between Merchant Center and site structured data. Salesforce reported that traffic from third-party AI search channels doubled year over year during the 2025 holiday period; that is Salesforce’s platform-specific finding, not a universal estimate of AI search growth. Google on product information consistency and Salesforce’s 2025 holiday shopping data

Use AI tools for drafts, variations, and summaries if useful, but verify all factual claims and imagery. Do not create synthetic testimonials or imply a creator or customer had an experience that did not happen. Keep one approved source of current product, stock, and delivery information so repurposing does not multiply outdated claims.

  • CTA: One clear action per adaptation, matched to its destination.
  • Measure: Revenue and qualified actions by asset and channel, alongside errors such as stale prices or out-of-stock clicks.
  • Best fit: Small teams that need channel coverage without inventing a separate campaign for every platform.

How to turn one idea into a multichannel campaign

A gift guide can anchor a connected campaign without becoming five unrelated projects. Keep recommendations and factual claims consistent, then adapt the format and action to each channel.

  1. Choose a specific audience and need. For example, people shopping for remote workers who want a useful gift under a defined budget.
  2. Publish the guide. Include a concise selection rationale, relevant products, price, stock, delivery and return information, and direct product links.
  3. Add a decision aid. Use a short quiz or comparison to help readers who still cannot choose. Link it from the guide rather than making it a competing campaign.
  4. Film answers to likely questions. Make short clips showing product scale, use, and differences. Link each to the matching guide section or product page.
  5. Adapt the message for email and paid media. Send audiences to the relevant guide or product, not the homepage, and use only claims that remain current.
  6. Update the source facts when conditions change. Replace unavailable options and revise delivery or promotion claims wherever the content has been reused.
  7. Measure each step. Track the guide visit, quiz completion, product click, add-to-cart, purchase, and assisted revenue where reporting permits.

Measure commercial impact, not just attention

Match the primary metric to the asset’s job. A research guide may assist a later purchase; a last-minute page should drive an immediate order; a post-purchase tutorial may reduce support friction or lead to a repeat purchase. No single metric describes all three.

Content job Useful primary measures Supporting signals
Research and discovery Assisted revenue, qualified product-page visits, signup, and eventual conversion Organic impressions and clicks, search queries, saves, shares, video watch-through
Decision support Quiz result-to-purchase rate, comparison-page conversion, add-to-cart, booking, or lead completion Quiz completion, comparison-option clicks, customer-service questions
Purchase and promotion Revenue, conversion rate, average order value, and gross margin after discount and fulfillment Email click rate, paid visits, product-feed issues, out-of-stock clicks
Retention Repeat purchase, gift-card redemption, referral, review, or exchange completion Support contacts, return and exchange rate, engagement by customer segment

Last-click attribution often misses the contribution of guides, reviews, and creator videos. Platform-reported return on ad spend is not the same as incremental profit, and discount codes can misattribute sales between email and creators. Where feasible, combine channel analytics with holdouts, geo tests, matched-period comparisons, or post-purchase surveys. Do not call an idea a conversion success based only on engagement.

Choose a small portfolio instead of 15 separate campaigns

Most teams do not need to execute every idea. Choose a few assets that answer different questions and can be reused. A practical portfolio is one research asset, one decision-support asset, one proof asset, and one purchase or retention sequence.

  • Choose a gift guide when shoppers need help narrowing a broad range and you can maintain accurate stock and delivery details.
  • Choose a quiz when product choices are genuinely confusing and answers can improve recommendations.
  • Choose reviews or creators when real use, appearance, or customer experience is important to confidence.
  • Choose bundles when products work clearly together, fulfillment can support them, and margins remain healthy.
  • Choose local content when availability, service, hours, or advice actually differs by place.
  • Choose a post-holiday sequence when customers need support, redemption, replenishment, or a useful next step after gifting.

Start with the commerce or booking platform already in place. Add email segmentation, review software, paid platforms, or a quiz tool only when the audience, data quality, workflow, and expected value justify the added cost and maintenance. A larger stack cannot compensate for weak product pages, uncertain fulfillment, poor inventory data, or unclear measurement.

Operational checks before a holiday campaign goes live

  • Confirm that price, stock, specifications, and promotions agree across the site, ads, product feeds, and content.
  • State delivery dates with the relevant geography, cutoff, method, and inventory conditions; update or remove expired promises.
  • Make return and exchange terms easy to find, and provide an alternative when a featured product sells out.
  • Use accessible captions, descriptive image text, readable contrast, clear form labels, and keyboard-accessible quizzes. Google recommends descriptive alt text and metadata for visual discovery and accessibility. Google’s holiday content guidance
  • Review applicable rules for promotions, creator disclosures, email and SMS consent, user-generated content permissions, privacy, accessibility, and platform advertising. Requirements vary by jurisdiction, audience, channel, and product.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
