If you want “knock-off AirPods,” buy earbuds from a legitimate brand rather than counterfeit Apple products. The picks below offer different combinations of AirPods-like styling, open or sealed fit, noise cancellation, calls, and phone support—but none should be assumed to reproduce Apple’s ecosystem features. For most shoppers, start with the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC for a sealed, feature-rich option or Soundcore Liberty Buds if you want an open-fit design.
“Fake AirPods” can mean counterfeits that claim to be Apple, generic earbuds borrowing the shape, or legitimate competitors. This guide covers the third category. The selections draw on current comparison coverage, not claimed in-house testing; prices and U.S. availability vary, so confirm the exact model and seller before buying. RTINGS’ AirPods-alternatives guide warns against many anonymous knockoffs in favor of established brands.

1. Soundcore Liberty 4 NC — best budget sealed-fit choice
A strong starting point if you want stems, active noise cancellation (ANC), an app, and compatibility with both iPhone and Android. Its sound can be bass-forward, and comparison coverage does not position its call quality as class-leading. Choose it for features and value, not because it behaves like an AirPods Pro in Apple’s ecosystem.
#1 Best Overall
- JBL Deep Bass Sound: Get the most from your mixes with high-quality audio from secure, reliable earbuds with 8mm drivers featuring JBL Deep Bass Sound
- Comfortable fit: The ergonomic, stick-closed design of the JBL Vibe Beam fits so comfortably you may forget you're wearing them. The closed design excludes external sounds, enhancing the bass performance
- Up to 32 (8h + 24h) hours of battery life and speed charging: With 8 hours of battery life in the earbuds and 24 in the case, the JBL Vibe Beam provide all-day audio. When you need more power, you can speed charge an extra two hours in just 10 minutes.
- Hands-free calls with VoiceAware: When you're making hands-free stereo calls on the go, VoiceAware lets you balance how much of your own voice you hear while talking with others
- Water and dust resistant: From the beach to the bike trail, the IP54-certified earbuds and IPX2 charging case are water and dust resistant for all-day experiences
2. Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro — a more advanced Soundcore option
Consider this when you want a step up in features and refinement from the Liberty 4 NC. Its higher cost makes the cheaper model more compelling when the two are far apart in price. Compare current offers rather than assuming the Pro is automatically the better buy. Soundcore’s wireless-earbud collection is a starting point for checking the current model lineup.
3. Soundcore Liberty Buds — for an open-fit feel
Half-in-ear earbuds suit people who dislike silicone tips or want to remain more aware of their surroundings. That comfort preference comes with less passive isolation; open-fit earbuds generally cannot match the isolation or low-frequency performance of a good seal. Pick them for fit style, not for a substitute for strong ANC.
4. EarFun Air Pro 4 — a low-cost all-rounder
This sealed-fit model is a candidate if you want a balance of sound, ANC, battery features, and app controls. Its fit may feel bulky in smaller ears, so buy from a seller with a clear return policy. Battery figures depend on use conditions; do not compare “up to” claims unless ANC, calls, codecs, and other settings match.

5. EarFun Air Pro 4+ — compare carefully with the Air Pro 4
A newer budget alternative to consider when comparing current models, but verify that the exact 4+ version is officially available in your market and that the listing, firmware, and support correspond to it. The name alone does not establish that it is a better deal than the Air Pro 4.

6. Nothing Ear (a) — a stylish iPhone or Android option
Its stem profile, design, and app experience make it an appealing alternative for shoppers who want something less generic-looking. It pairs with an iPhone over Bluetooth, but that is not the same as Apple’s automatic ecosystem switching, Find My network, or iCloud pairing.
7. Nothing Ear — for extra sound control
Choose this over the Ear (a) if sound customization and more premium positioning matter more than the lowest price. Its advanced codec and EQ features still depend on compatible devices and software; do not assume every feature works identically on iOS and Android.
8. CMF Buds Pro 2 — bass-heavy budget features
A low-price option with ANC and distinctive controls for listeners who enjoy a weightier sound. Tom’s Guide describes its presentation as bassier than pricier rivals while praising its price-performance balance in its CMF Buds Pro 2 review. If vocals or acoustic music are your priority, a bass-forward tuning may not suit you.

- Powerful Bass: soundcore P20i true wireless earbuds have oversized 10mm drivers that deliver powerful sound with boosted bass so you can lose yourself in your favorite songs.
- Personalized Listening Experience: Use the soundcore app to customize the controls and choose from 22 EQ presets. With "Find My Earbuds", a lost earbud can emit noise to help you locate it.
- Long Playtime, Fast Charging: Get 10 hours of battery life on a single charge with a case that extends it to 30 hours. If P20i true wireless earbuds are low on power, a quick 10-minute charge will give you 2 hours of playtime.
- Portable On-the-Go Design: soundcore P20i true wireless earbuds and the charging case are compact and lightweight with a lanyard attached. It's small enough to slip in your pocket, or clip on your bag or keys–so you never worry about space.
- AI-Enhanced Clear Calls: 2 built-in mics and an AI algorithm work together to pick up your voice so that you never have to shout over the phone.
10. OnePlus Buds 4 — the call-focused pick
Comparison coverage gives this model a call-quality advantage over the Liberty 4 NC, making it a sensible candidate if microphone reliability matters. That is an editorial comparison, not an in-house measurement. Some features are more deeply integrated with OnePlus phones, so check the functions you need on your own handset. RTINGS’ comparison provides the relevant call-quality context.
11. JLab Go Pods ANC — a budget backup with noise cancellation
Consider it for casual listening, a spare pair, or a low-cost way to get ANC. Expect less refinement in sound, microphones, and overall experience than from more expensive models. If noisy commutes or frequent calls are central to your use, do not choose on price alone.
12. Sony WF-C710N — established-brand ANC without AirPods styling
The Sony name, app ecosystem, and ANC make this a conservative alternative for shoppers who care more about support and features than visual resemblance. Its stem-free shape is less AirPods-like. Check current pricing against stem-style rivals, since the best value depends on the offer available to you.
13. Beats Fit Pro — Apple-adjacent, secure for workouts
Beats is owned by Apple, and the Fit Pro offers a more Apple-adjacent experience than many independent brands, with wing tips for a secure workout fit. It is not identical to AirPods and is a poor match if you specifically want an unsealed, loose fit. Compare its current price with discounted genuine AirPods before choosing.

- IMPROVED SOUND AND CALL QUALITY — Voice Isolation improves the quality of calls in loud conditions. Using advanced computational audio, it reduces background noise while isolating and clarifying the sound of your voice for whomever you’re speaking to.*
- MAGICAL EXPERIENCE — Just say “Siri” or “Hey Siri” to play a song, make a call, or check your schedule.* And with Siri Interactions, now you can respond to Siri by simply nodding your head yes or shaking your head no.* Pair AirPods 4 by simply placing them near your device and tapping Connect on your screen.* Easily share a song or show between two sets of AirPods.* An optical in-ear sensor knows to play audio only when you’re wearing AirPods and pauses when you take them off. And you can track down your AirPods and Charging Case with the Find My app.*
14. Skullcandy Dime 3 — a basic recognizable-brand backup
Compact and inexpensive relative to premium earbuds, it is a straightforward option for basic listening. It is not the pick for shoppers prioritizing refined sound, a broad premium feature set, or the strongest noise cancellation.
Choose the fit before the brand
AirPods-style searches often hide a fit question. Apple’s open-fit AirPods 4 and sealed-tip AirPods Pro are not interchangeable designs, and third-party earbuds make the same basic distinction.
- Open or half-in-ear: Consider the Soundcore Liberty Buds if silicone tips feel intrusive. Open-fit designs let in more surrounding sound and usually deliver less isolation and weaker bass than a well-sealed earbud.
- Silicone-tip sealed fit: The Liberty 4 NC, Liberty 4 Pro, EarFun Air Pro models, Nothing models, CMF models, OnePlus Buds 4, and Sony WF-C710N are the relevant style of alternative in this shortlist. A proper seal supports isolation and ANC, but some listeners find tips uncomfortable.
Neither design is universally more comfortable. If possible, use a retailer return window to check fit over a normal listening session; pressure, looseness, or discomfort can become apparent after 20–30 minutes.
What matters when buying cheaper earbuds?
Do not rank earbuds by resemblance or one advertised feature. Check the whole ownership proposition before ordering:
Best Value
- LED Power Display and 50H Playback: Dual digital LED power display outside of the case is to show the power level for charging case and earbuds. When charging for the case, the LED light will start to flash from 1 to 100. When you put wireless Bluetooth earbuds into the case, then the Bluetooth earbuds will start charging. The 470mAh battery capacity charging case can provide extra 4 times full charging for both earbuds; each earbud can last 6H on a single charge. So, you can enjoy 50H music time in total by using them in turn
- 2026 Upgraded Bluetooth 5.4 and Ultra-Low Latency: S58 Pro wireless earbuds with mics feature the next-generation Bluetooth 5.4 chip. Compared to version 5.3, it offers 30% lower power consumption and 35% stronger signal penetration. Equipped with a high-sensitivity antenna and a Hall switch, wireless Bluetooth headphones auto-pair as soon as you open the charging case, with a stable connection within 15 meters. Whether you're gaming or binge-watching, enjoy smooth, flawlessly synced audio
- Hi-Fi Stereo and 4 ENC Mics: The wireless earbuds feature triple-layer 13mm coil dynamic drivers and a polymer diaphragm, resulting in sufficiently strong bass that naturally connects to the mid and high frequencies, supporting AAC/SBC audio coding technology and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive Audio technology. Noise Cancelling Earbuds adopt a 4-mic design and ENC noise cancelling technology that picks up your voice precisely and blocks out 80% background noise, providing a crystal clear call experience
- Smart Touch Control and Wide Compatibility: These wireless Bluetooth earbuds feature a high-precision touch sensor, offering greater accuracy than similar products. A simple tap allows you to control playback/pause, volume, song switching, calls, and voice assistants, minimizing accidental touches. The in-ear running headphones are compatible with most Bluetooth devices, including smartphones, tablets and laptops, and connect effortlessly with Android 4.4, iOS 8.0 and above, or Bluetooth 4.0 and above
- Ergonomic and IPX7 Waterproof: Thanks to an ultra-light nano coating, these wireless Bluetooth earbuds are IPX7 waterproof and dustproof—perfect for workouts or outdoor adventures. The ergonomic in-ear design provides a secure, comfortable fit while keeping outside noise out, letting you immerse yourself fully in your music
- Fit and sound: Choose open-fit or sealed-tip first, then consider whether you prefer a neutral or bass-heavy presentation.
- ANC and transparency: ANC varies with ear seal, anatomy, frequency, wind, and firmware. Manufacturer figures and modes are not directly comparable across brands.
- Calls: If calls are important, prioritize independent microphone comparisons; the OnePlus Buds 4 has a call-focused rationale in this list.
- Battery: Treat “up to” figures as conditional. ANC, calls, codec settings, and repeated case charging affect real use.
- Phone support: Check app availability, multipoint, device switching, firmware updates, codecs, and controls on your specific phone. Advanced features may require a compatible device.
- Durability and ownership: Confirm the precise water-resistance rating rather than assuming “sweatproof,” and look for a written warranty, clear returns, and replacement-part availability.
- Seller: Prefer the manufacturer or an authorized retailer. A low marketplace price may come with no manufacturer warranty or unclear returns.
Will AirPods alternatives work with an iPhone?
Most Bluetooth earbuds can pair with an iPhone for ordinary audio and calls. That does not mean they offer Apple’s deeper features. A third-party companion app may provide settings and firmware updates; it does not confer AirPods’ iCloud pairing, automatic switching, Find My network integration, Siri behavior, or Spatial Audio support. Check each feature separately rather than treating “iPhone compatible” as equivalent to “works like AirPods.”
Beats Fit Pro is the Apple-adjacent choice here, but it is still a distinct product. Apple’s U.S. store displayed AirPods 4 at $129, AirPods 4 with ANC at $179, and AirPods Pro 3 at $249 in the captured pricing snapshot; prices and discounts can change. For open-fit shoppers especially, compare the genuine AirPods 4 options before assuming a third-party pair saves enough to justify the trade-offs. Check Apple’s AirPods lineup and current U.S. pricing.
What should Android users consider?
Android shoppers can shortlist Soundcore Liberty 4 NC or 4 Pro, OnePlus Buds 4, Nothing Ear or Ear (a), EarFun Air Pro 4 or 4+, and CMF Buds Pro 2 or Buds 2 Plus. Compare app support, multipoint, codec compatibility, and phone-specific features for the exact combination of earbuds and handset. A feature advertised by a brand may require a particular Android version, device, app, or firmware.
Why counterfeit AirPods are usually a bad buy
A counterfeit pretends to be an Apple product by using Apple branding or other copied identifiers. That is different from a legitimate competitor that sells under its own name. Anonymous “1:1,” “OEM,” “same factory,” or “original quality” listings are not a safe shortcut to AirPods. Counterfeits and unknown clones can have inconsistent sound and microphones, unreliable cases, short battery life, misleading ANC claims, no dependable warranty or replacement parts, and unclear app or privacy practices. Poorly sourced lithium-ion batteries or chargers add another reason not to treat an unverified listing as a bargain. These risks do not establish a particular injury rate; the practical issue is that the buyer may have little recourse if the product fails.
- Be wary of boxes that say AirPods when the seller is not Apple or an authorized retailer.
- Do not rely on “1:1,” a convincing pairing animation, packaging, or a valid-looking serial number as proof of authenticity.
- A listing with a very low price, generic Bluetooth name, inconsistent model details, or no manufacturer warranty deserves extra scrutiny.
If a product is sold as genuine Apple AirPods, Apple’s guide explains how to identify the model. With the earbuds paired, open Settings > Bluetooth, tap the More Info button beside the AirPods, and check the model number. Apple says AirPods and AirPods Pro model numbers begin with A; compare the reported number against its identification list. If they are not connected, inspect the number printed on an earbud or case. This identifies the reported model; it is not a guaranteed authentication system. Buy from Apple or an authorized retailer when authenticity matters. Apple’s AirPods identification guide has the model list and locations.
What to do if cheap earbuds do not work properly
For a legitimate-brand pair, troubleshoot through the maker’s app and support channel while the return window is open. A one-sided connection, implausible case battery reading, app that cannot find the buds, or unavailable firmware update may indicate a pairing, charging, or product issue. ANC that hisses or seems ineffective can reflect fit, wind, settings, or hardware; reseat the tips and check the app before deciding. If the case or one earbud fails, ask whether replacements are sold before accepting a repair cost or buying a second set. Keep the receipt and packaging until the product has updated and worked reliably.
