What these market values do—and do not—mean
They are estimates, not transfer fees
A published market value is an estimate associated with a player, not a confirmed amount paid by a club. Betimate’s article does not explain its calculation method or identify the provider behind its pound figures. The ranking therefore supports a comparison of the values Betimate reported, not a claim that these players could have been bought for those sums.

They are not a ranking of Euro 2024 performances
Euro 2024 took place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024, with 24 national teams. Betimate’s list ranks participating players by estimated market value; it does not rank their performances at the tournament. A player’s placement here should not be treated as a tournament award or a judgment of who played best.
Why other published rankings show different figures
Player-value lists can differ because publishers use different valuation datasets, dates, currencies, and eligible player pools. Football Benchmark’s 2024 guide, for example, valued Mbappé at €244 million and described him as the tournament’s most valuable player under its own platform. That guide says its squad-value calculations use data as of June 2024; its figure is not a conversion or correction of Betimate’s £154 million estimate. Football Benchmark also reported a combined value of €1.865 billion for its 24 national-team MVPs, a separate aggregate rather than a total for the 11 players above.

Transfermarkt’s indexed Euro 2024 list provides another comparison: it reports Lamine Yamal at €200 million, Mbappé at €180 million, and Pedri at €150 million. Those figures belong to Transfermarkt’s list, not Betimate’s ranking, and should not be mixed into the pound table. The available indexed material supports only this limited comparison.

How to compare player-value lists fairly
- Check the publisher and dataset. Betimate, Football Benchmark, and Transfermarkt publish distinct estimates.
- Check the date. A value from a tournament-era list is not necessarily a later valuation.
- Keep the currency clear. Betimate reports pounds; the Football Benchmark and Transfermarkt comparisons above are in euros. Do not compare the amounts as if they were the same currency.
- Check who is eligible. A list of Euro participants, a list of national-team MVPs, and a national squad-value calculation are different measures.
Because Betimate does not state its methodology or valuation snapshot in the accessible article, the differences between its ranking and other providers’ figures cannot be resolved numerically from these sources.
