Super Bowl LVII’s novelty bets turned moments beyond the scoreboard—like the anthem, commercials and halftime show—into wagers. The Chiefs and Eagles played on February 12, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona, so these are historical examples, not bets you can still place. Sportsbooks and jurisdictions did not all offer the same markets.
What made these Super Bowl bets unusual?
Unlike standard wagers on the game’s winner or point spread, novelty props focused on specific moments in the broadcast or game. A 2023 Caesars Sportsbook menu promoted “OVER 2,000 WAYS TO WAGER,” its own promotional count, and warned that some props were unavailable in certain states and jurisdictions. The examples below were documented in 2023 coverage; they were not universally available.
11 funny and weird Super Bowl LVII bets
-
Would the national anthem last longer than 2 minutes and 5 seconds?
One market asked whether the anthem would run over or under that threshold. Sports Illustrated reported the line on February 6, 2023; it was a historical prop for that game.
-
Would a scoring drive take less time than the anthem?
This bet compared a game sequence with the pregame performance: would a team’s scoring drive finish in less time than the anthem took to sing?

Would the final score be a Scorigami?
Scorigami means a final score never previously recorded in NFL history. The bet therefore depended on the exact final score, not simply which team won.
Why availability and settlement rules mattered
Novelty props were not a standard, nationwide menu. Caesars’ 2023 menu explicitly noted jurisdiction-based restrictions, and the Associated Press reported in February 2024 that U.S. sports-betting laws differed by state. The AP also described regulators’ and operators’ concern about subjective outcomes: a market is easier to settle when the result is plainly recorded, such as in a box score, than when it depends on interpreting a speech or other broadcast moment. That reporting is an illustration of variation, not a current state-by-state legal guide.
All of these wagers were tied to a completed event, and any odds or thresholds published for Super Bowl LVII were specific to 2023. They should not be read as current prices or as proof that a market remains available.
