The title’s exact 109 selections could not be independently confirmed; contemporaneous deal roundups do, however, show the kinds of luggage and brands shoppers were comparing that season.
What Cyber Monday 2024 luggage deals covered
Holiday luggage roundups included more than rolling suitcases. Shoppers could find carry-ons and checked bags, hard- and soft-sided models, luggage sets, duffels, backpacks, totes, and organizing accessories. The mix matters: a discount on a bag is useful only if its size and format fit the trip.
Contemporaneous examples included Away and Monos, Samsonite and Travelpro, TUMI, Antler, and Nex. These brands appeared in other publications’ coverage; that is market context, not confirmation that any particular item was among the 109 selections in this title. USA Today, Glamour UK, Town & Country, and Forbes Vetted published dated examples.
What the dated discounts actually said
These figures describe claims in specific outlets’ December 2024 coverage. They are neither current prices nor evidence of typical luggage savings.

| Outlet and dated claim | What it referred to |
|---|---|
| Oprah Daily: up to 61% | The roundup’s headline claim; not a verified typical saving across the market. |
| Glamour UK: up to 50% | Discounts on some brands in UK coverage; UK offers and prices should not be treated as US offers. |
| Forbes Vetted: Away 25% off; Monos up to 40% off | Offers reported on December 2, 2024; historical only. |
| USA Today: Samsonite 35% savings; Travelpro up to 50% off | Historical claims about named Samsonite hardside luggage at Amazon and Travelpro’s 2024 sale. |
| Town & Country: Nex Hawaii Edition Pioneer at $160, against a displayed $275 reference price; Away 25% off | Dated examples reported on December 2, 2024, not current prices. |
Discount language such as “up to” applies to selected items, not necessarily every bag from a brand. A displayed reference price or percentage-off claim also does not establish the price a shopper will find later. Forbes Vetted said it removed deals when they expired or went out of stock, underscoring why an old roundup cannot establish present availability. Forbes Vetted’s 2024 roundup
How to choose a suitcase for your trip
There is no universally best suitcase in the available coverage. Start with the trip, then compare the bag’s construction, usable capacity, handling, weight, durability information, and price.
Rank #2
- CARRY-ON DESIGN: Best for 1-5 day trips without the hassle of checking luggage; measures 14.8 x 10 x 21.7 inches, including wheels
- DURABLE AND RELIABLE: Extra-thick hard shell with scratch-resistant finish guards against impact and rough handling
- EXPANDABLE: Increase packing space up to 25% for added flexibility and organization
- ORGANIZED INTERIOR: Keep essentials organized with an interior divider and three zippered pockets
- EFFORTLESS TRAVEL: Navigate with ease thanks to four multi-directional wheels, telescoping handle, and short lift handle
Carry-on or checked bag
Choose a carry-on when you want a cabin-size bag for a shorter trip or to avoid checking luggage, but check the relevant airline’s current size and weight rules before buying. A checked case makes more sense when the trip needs more capacity; compare its dimensions and weight with your likely packing needs rather than choosing by sale label alone.
Hardside or softside
Hardside and softside luggage each suit different preferences and packing habits. Compare the particular bag’s materials, layout, weight, and durability information instead of assuming one construction is best for every traveler. A deal roundup naming both types does not establish that one is more durable overall.

Standard or expandable
An expandable case can provide extra room when needed, but consider whether the added capacity is useful for your usual trips and whether the expanded dimensions still work for your travel plans. Compare the published dimensions in both configurations when available.
Wheels and handling
Check the wheel layout and handle design, along with any other handling details listed for the model. Spinner wheels appeared among the features highlighted in 2024 deal coverage, but a feature mention alone does not establish how a particular bag performs in use.

One bag or a set
A set can make sense when you will use its included sizes, have room to store them, and want matching pieces. Buying one bag is often the more practical choice if you need only a carry-on or a specific checked size. Do not let the number of pieces substitute for comparing each bag’s specifications and the set’s total price.
Suitcase or another format
A duffel or weekender, backpack, or tote may suit trips where a conventional rolling case is not the right shape or carrying style. Match the format to the trip and the way you will carry it; a markdown does not make an unsuitable bag a good purchase.

How to assess a luggage deal today
- Identify the bag you actually need. Decide whether the trip calls for a carry-on, checked case, set, duffel, backpack, tote, or organizer.
- Compare specifications. Check dimensions, weight, capacity, whether the bag expands, wheel layout, materials, and the warranty or retailer terms stated on the current listing.
- Check the live listing. Confirm the current total price, stock, discount eligibility, and any code or other terms directly with the retailer before purchasing.
- Judge the price against your needs. Compare the actual price for the exact model and configuration; do not treat a 2024 markdown, headline discount, or reference price as proof of present value.
These checks matter because sale prices and stock can change, and old deal pages document past promotions rather than current terms. A dated recommendation is not a substitute for checking the retailer’s live listing.
