Costco’s surprising finds go well beyond bulk groceries: its online assortment has included caviar, a sauna, a casket, a cheese wheel, kayaks and even vending machines. Some examples are specific to Costco.com or Costco UK, and none should be taken as a promise of current stock at your local warehouse. Here are 10 unusual categories Costco has listed or that a 2026 roundup reported, plus what to check before spending.
What surprising things can you buy at Costco?
Costco’s assortment can include specialty foods, large home goods, recreation equipment and services. The examples below come from Costco’s own online feature and a Good Housekeeping roundup published April 20, 2026. The reported prices are snapshots from that article, not verified live prices.
1. Maldon sea salt flakes
Costco UK lists Maldon Sea Salt Flakes in a 570 g tub. The product page describes the flakes as hand harvested, soft and crunchy, and says they are made by four generations of master salt makers. The page showed a price of £5.79 when accessed in 2026; that is a UK listing and price, not a U.S. price or a guarantee of warehouse availability. See the Costco UK listing.
2. Caviar
Costco’s caviar category names Bulgarian, osetra, white sturgeon and beluga caviar, including brands such as Plaza Osetra and Tsar Nicoulai. Some gift sets include crème fraîche, blini crepes and mother-of-pearl spoons. Which types or sets are available can vary. Good Housekeeping’s 2026 roundup advises eating opened caviar within two days; follow the storage and serving directions for the specific product you buy. View Costco’s caviar category.

3. Sheds and garages
Costco.com has been reported to offer larger outdoor structures, including sheds and garages. Good Housekeeping reported a shed or garage example at $3,300 in 2026. That is a reported listing snapshot, not a current quote; check dimensions, delivery eligibility and any site-preparation or assembly needs before ordering.
4. Theme-park tickets
The 2026 Good Housekeeping list includes theme-park tickets among Costco’s less expected offerings. Tickets are services rather than ordinary warehouse merchandise, and the article does not establish that a particular park, date or deal is currently available. Check the live listing for eligible parks, dates, restrictions and redemption terms.
5. Diamond engagement rings
Costco’s reported assortment includes diamond engagement rings. Good Housekeeping described examples ranging from around $1,000 into five figures, but did not establish a current price for a particular ring. Compare the exact stone, setting, documentation, return terms and price before treating any two rings as comparable.
6. Saunas
Saunas appear in both Costco’s own unexpected-items feature and Good Housekeeping’s 2026 list. The latter reported a $4,400 example, a historical snapshot rather than a live price. For a major purchase, confirm the model’s dimensions, electrical requirements, delivery arrangements and installation responsibilities.

7. Caskets
A casket is another unusual category in the 2026 roundup, which reported an example at $1,350. The price was reported by Good Housekeeping in 2026 and is not a current quote. Verify the exact model, delivery timing, and applicable return or purchase terms before relying on a listing.
8. Large cheese wheels
Good Housekeeping reported an 80-pound cheese wheel listed at $1,199 in 2026. That is an article-reported price snapshot, not a verified current price. A purchase this large calls for checking the weight and storage requirements, how the product is packaged, and whether delivery is available to your address.
9. Pinball and arcade games
Pinball machines and arcade games also made the 2026 list. Good Housekeeping reported a $5,000 example; the article does not establish that price as current or applicable to every machine. Check dimensions, shipping and delivery arrangements, and any setup requirements for the specific listing.
10. Kayaks and paddleboards
Costco has been reported to offer kayaks and paddleboards. Good Housekeeping cited a $550 example in 2026, which should be treated as a dated listing snapshot. Confirm the model, included equipment, dimensions and delivery eligibility rather than assuming the reported price applies to an item currently in stock.

More unusual finds in Costco’s own online feature
The ten categories above are not Costco’s only surprising online listings. A separate Costco feature, titled “A List of Unexpected Items Found On Costco.com,” also describes instruments, barns, large playsets, specialty appliances such as a wine press and sausage stuffer, vending machines, hydroponic gardening systems, fishing equipment and keepsakes. It mentions 11 pounds of Japanese Wagyu ribeye as well as Bulgarian caviar. This is a separate assortment list, not the same ten-item list, and its examples should likewise be checked against current listings. Read Costco’s unexpected-items feature.
How to check whether an unusual Costco item is available
Online listings and local warehouse shelves are not interchangeable. Costco says an item available online may not be carried at a neighborhood warehouse, while something absent from Costco.com may still be in warehouse stock. Costco also says online inventory reflects current availability, offers are limited to supplies on hand, and sold-out products may be removed or marked out of stock.
- Search the current Costco listing. Use Costco.com or the relevant country’s Costco site to confirm whether the product page is live and what availability it shows.
- Check local warehouse stock separately. If you want to buy in person, confirm with the warehouse rather than assuming an online listing means it is on the shelf.
- Review the full purchase details. For bulky items, check delivery eligibility, dimensions, installation or assembly needs, and any extra preparation. For bulk food, check quantity, storage and product-specific handling directions.
- Recheck before committing. Stock and prices can change, and Costco says online offers are limited to supplies on hand.

What these listings do—and do not—tell you about value
A surprising item is not automatically a bargain. The examples here do not provide same-date, same-spec comparisons with other sellers, so they cannot establish that Costco is cheaper. For a meaningful comparison, match the model or product, quantity, delivery and installation terms, and region; then compare the current total cost. That matters especially for large purchases, where delivery or setup can change the overall expense.
