For U.S. buyers shopping new, these ten performance-car options have a published starting price below $200,000: three Corvette trims, the Porsche 911 model line, and six Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio versions. The figures are starting MSRPs, not guaranteed transaction prices; taxes, options, delivery charges and dealer markup can push the final price higher. “Supercar” has no single definition here, so this list includes high-performance sports cars and grand tourers rather than claiming every entry is a traditional exotic.

What counts as “under $200,000” in this list?

The cutoff is a new-car starting price below $200,000 in the U.S., before taxes, options, delivery charges and dealer markup. The evidence spans Car and Driver’s 2026 premium-sports-car ranking and Maserati USA’s MY2027 lineup, so model years are identified rather than blended into one supposedly identical price snapshot. A starting price is a useful screening figure, not proof that a particular configured or in-stock car can be purchased under the cap.

The ten entries below are not ten separately validated nameplates or a head-to-head ranking. They are ten qualifying model or trim starting points from the available current price sources. Supercars.net’s broader candidate list mixes sports cars, exotics and grand tourers, illustrating why the label is subjective; this article uses it in that broad enthusiast sense.

Ten options with published starting prices below the cap

Option Published U.S. starting price Why it may suit a buyer Price and evidence note
2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray $111,095 A Corvette performance trim for a buyer considering the E-Ray rather than the Z06 or ZR1. Car and Driver, 2026 premium-sports-car ranking; starting price.
2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 $119,695 A distinct Corvette trim to compare if the Z06 is the model that appeals to you. Car and Driver, 2026 premium-sports-car ranking; starting price.
2026 Porsche 911 $137,850 A broad entry point into the 911 model line; this figure does not identify a specific 911 trim or configuration. Car and Driver, 2026 premium-sports-car ranking; starting price.
2027 Maserati GranTurismo $147,900 A coupe-shaped grand-touring choice for buyers drawn to Maserati’s two-door GT range. Maserati USA, MY2027 lineup; listed starting price.
2027 Maserati GranTurismo Folgore $140,000 A separately priced GranTurismo version for buyers comparing the Folgore designation with the other listed variants. Maserati USA, MY2027 lineup; listed starting price.
2027 Maserati GranCabrio $158,000 A convertible grand-touring option for buyers who prioritize open-air driving. Maserati USA, MY2027 lineup; listed starting price.
2027 Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo $166,000 A higher-priced GranTurismo variant for buyers comparing the Trofeo with the model’s other listed versions. Maserati USA, MY2027 lineup; listed starting price.
2027 Maserati GranCabrio Folgore $150,200 A separately priced GranCabrio version for buyers who want to compare the Folgore designation within the convertible line. Maserati USA, MY2027 lineup; listed starting price.
2027 Maserati GranCabrio Trofeo $176,200 The highest-starting-price Maserati in this group, while still below the stated cap on its listed starting price. Maserati USA, MY2027 lineup; listed starting price.
2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 $187,495 A high-priced Corvette starting point for a buyer who wants the ZR1 trim and can verify the exact build price before committing. Car and Driver, 2026 ranking; its reported ZR1 range reaches $233,195, so not every configuration fits the cap.

How to decide which one is worth your money

“Worth it” depends on what you value and what the car will cost as actually equipped. Car and Driver says its rankings draw on roughly 200 data points, instrumented tests of several hundred vehicles each year and editor impressions. Its named evaluation dimensions include acceleration, handling, comfort, cargo space, fuel efficiency, value and enjoyment. Those are useful questions for a buyer to apply, but they do not make this shortlist a standardized ten-car test.

Start with the configuration, not the headline price

  • Ask for a written quote for the exact model year, trim and options you want, including delivery charges and dealer-added items.
  • Check whether the quoted configuration—not just the base trim—stays below your budget ceiling.
  • Compare the final out-the-door price with your financing plan and the amount you are willing to spend on a car, rather than treating the MSRP as the full purchase cost.

Match the car to the way you will drive it

  • For an open-top GT, compare the GranCabrio versions; for a coupe, compare the GranTurismo versions and the Corvette or 911 options.
  • Before choosing between trims, drive the actual versions you are considering. Pay attention to steering feel, ride comfort, visibility, cabin fit and luggage space on roads you use regularly.
  • If you are considering a car for track use, look for model-specific independent test results and equipment details. The available price evidence does not establish comparable lap times or performance measurements for all ten entries.
  • Style is personal: the best-looking car is a preference, not an objective ranking. Judge it in person and make sure the driving position and controls suit you.

Budget for ownership questions the starting prices cannot answer

Comparable warranty, maintenance, insurance, consumable and resale-cost figures are not established for these choices here, so there is no sound basis to call one the cheapest to own or the most reliable. Before purchase, get insurance quotes for the specific vehicle, review warranty terms, ask about scheduled service and high-wear items, and consider an inspection by a specialist familiar with the make. For a used example, add mileage, title and accident history, service records and remaining warranty to the decision; a used asking price is a different basis from the new-car MSRPs in the table.

Models that do not make this price-verified shortlist

The Aston Martin Vantage is a tempting candidate, but Car and Driver lists the 2026 model from $200,500, just above the cap on a starting-price basis. Maserati’s MY2027 page gives performance specifications for the MCPura, MCPura Cielo and GT2 Stradale but no MSRP for those rows, so their eligibility below $200,000 is not established by that source. Maserati describes the MC20 with a 621-hp 3.0-liter V6 and carbon-fiber monocoque, and claims 0–100 km/h in under 2.9 seconds and a top speed above 325 km/h; those are manufacturer claims, and the cited model page does not establish a current U.S. purchase price. These cars may merit a separate comparison once a current qualifying U.S. price is documented.

Rank #2
Maisto - 1/18 Scale Model Compatible with Porsche 911 GT3 2022 Die-Cast Scale Model Sports Car Miniature (Blue)
  • New 2022 Launch Model in Blue
  • Officially licensed scale model collectible
  • Die-cast metal with plastic parts & rubber tyres
  • Working steering wheel suspension system
  • Openable doors, engine cover & boot

The resulting shortlist is intentionally about published starting-price eligibility, not a claim that one car is objectively the best. A careful buyer should compare a real quote and the exact vehicle’s everyday fit before deciding whether its performance, design and ownership trade-offs justify the spend.
