10 Richest Punk Rockers: What an Older List Estimated

An older Dying Scene list estimated Travis Barker’s wealth at $85 million, but its figures came from secondary sources and are not verified current net worth.

In an older published ranking, Travis Barker had the highest reported estimate at $85 million, followed by Dexter Holland at $65 million. Those are estimates attributed to Dying Scene’s list—not verified current net worth figures. A Portuguese republication dated July 8, 2013 warned that the amounts might already be outdated, so they should be read as a historical snapshot rather than a ranking of the richest punk musicians in 2026.

Historical estimates in the published ranking

The table preserves the positions and amounts reported by Dying Scene. The figures are the list’s estimates, attributed to secondary celebrity-wealth websites; they are not audited or confirmed personal financial disclosures.

Position in Dying Scene list Musician Reported historical estimate
1 Travis Barker $85 million
2 Tom DeLonge $60 million
3 Mark Hoppus $60 million
4 Dexter Holland $65 million
5 Billie Joe Armstrong $55 million
6 Ian MacKaye $25 million
7 Davey Havok $20 million
8 Tim Armstrong $13 million
9 Lars Frederiksen $10 million
10 Marky Ramone $2 million

The source assigns Tom DeLonge second place and Mark Hoppus third despite giving each the same $60 million estimate; it does not explain a tie-breaking method. Its order and figures are therefore best understood as the article’s reported ranking, not a consistently reproducible comparison.

How the estimates were assembled—and what they can’t establish

Dying Scene says it drew estimates from TheRichest.org and CelebrityNetWorth.com. It describes those sites as using publicly available information that may include salaries, real estate, divorces, record sales, royalties and endorsements. The list does not provide audited accounts, a transparent calculation for each musician, or primary financial disclosures. Its figures cannot establish anyone’s current assets, debts, income or net worth.

TMDQA!’s Portuguese republication, dated July 8, 2013, explicitly cautioned that the values could be outdated. That date establishes when the republication appeared; it does not, by itself, establish the original Dying Scene page’s publication date. No current authoritative ranking with comparable asset definitions and independently supported figures is established by these sources.

Why “punk rocker” is a broad category here

The ranking groups musicians associated with punk, but the label is not a precise or uncontested financial category. TMDQA! noted that some bands might not still be considered punk and left Blink-182’s genre classification open to readers. The list’s inclusion should be treated as an editorial choice, not a definitive genre test.

What a credible current ranking would require

A genuinely current comparison would need recent, comparable evidence and a stated method—for example, consistent treatment of assets and liabilities, a clear valuation date, and reliable support for each person’s figures. The cited pages do not provide that foundation, so updating their old estimates by guesswork would create false precision.
