In Audacy’s 2022 list, reproduced by iHeartCountry, Dolly Parton ranks first among the 10 richest female country artists, with an estimated net worth of $650 million. That is a dated publisher estimate—not an audited disclosure or a definitive current ranking. Reuters reported a different figure in 2025: Forbes estimated Parton’s wealth at about $450 million. The gap shows why these lists are best read as snapshots, not precise statements of private wealth.

Who are the 10 richest female country singers?

The following figures and order come from Audacy’s “10 Richest Female Country Artists” list, published by iHeartCountry on March 14, 2022. The page says Audacy drew its figures from CelebrityNetWorth.com. Each amount is an estimate attributed to that list, not an independently verified financial disclosure.

Rank Artist Estimated net worth in the 2022 list
1 Dolly Parton $650 million
2 (tie) Shania Twain $400 million
2 (tie) Taylor Swift $400 million
4 Carrie Underwood $140 million
5 Trisha Yearwood $100 million
6 Reba McEntire $95 million
7 Faith Hill $80 million
8 Sheryl Crow $70 million
9 Loretta Lynn $65 million
10 Miranda Lambert $60 million

Source for every rank and amount: iHeartCountry’s March 14, 2022 reproduction of Audacy’s list, which attributes the estimates to CelebrityNetWorth.com.

Why do net-worth rankings disagree?

Celebrity net worth is not usually a public, audited figure. Rankings compile estimates of assets and liabilities, and publishers may use different methods, dates, and assumptions about what to include. A ranking can also change depending on how broadly it defines “country artist.” The 2022 list includes Taylor Swift and calls Sheryl Crow’s placement “a stretch,” noting that much of Crow’s sales span other genres. Its category is therefore an editorial choice, not a formal classification.

Dolly Parton’s estimates vary by source and date

The 2022 Audacy/iHeartCountry list gives Parton an estimated $650 million. Reuters reported in 2025 that Forbes estimated her wealth at about $450 million. These are conflicting estimates from different dates and sources; neither establishes an audited balance sheet or a definitive current total. Reuters also reported that Parton’s Dollywood stake and retained song rights are important elements of her business wealth.

Reba McEntire’s repeated estimate is not independent confirmation

Biography.com attributed an estimate of around $95 million to Celebrity Net Worth in July 2023. Celebrity Net Worth’s own page, last updated September 14, 2026, also states $95 million. Because both reports point to the same estimator, their agreement does not amount to independent verification.

What contributes to an artist’s wealth?

Music can generate income through songwriting and recording rights, while touring, acting, and business ventures can add other sources. Those are possible components of an artist’s finances, not proof of a particular net-worth estimate. The available reporting identifies Parton’s retained song rights and Dollywood stake as business-wealth factors, but it does not provide a full accounting of her assets and liabilities.

Dolly Parton’s career and business context

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum describes Parton as a country singer-songwriter whose career also includes acting, business, and philanthropy. It records her 1999 induction and notes that her first solo No. 1, “Joshua,” came in 1971, followed by the 1974 No. 1 songs “Jolene,” “Love Is Like a Butterfly,” and “I Will Always Love You.” These milestones help explain the breadth and longevity of her career; they do not verify any wealth total.

Reba McEntire’s career and estimate

Biography.com describes McEntire as a singer and actor, reports more than 30 studio albums and multiple country chart-toppers, and notes her 2011 Country Music Hall of Fame induction. The Hall of Fame provides an institutional account of her career. These achievements are distinct from the $95 million estimate attributed to Celebrity Net Worth.

How to read a “richest singer” list

  • Check the publication date: an estimate is a snapshot, not a live account.
  • Keep the estimate attached to its source and date; do not treat figures from different years as if they were measured on the same basis.
  • Look for what assets or business interests are actually documented rather than assuming the list explains its methodology.
  • Notice the category definition: “country artist” may include performers whose careers cross genres.

The exact-title “Silver and Gold: 10 Richest Female Country Singers” appears in Vanessa Serrao’s portfolio as a Blasting News article dated March 1, 2020. The portfolio record does not expose that article’s body, so the 2022 list above should not be mistaken for the original 2020 article’s names or order. The 2022 ranking is a separately attributed later list.

Parton’s public legacy also extends beyond financial estimates. In a Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum tribute, CEO Kyle Young wrote: “Dolly Parton’s legacy is not celebrity, but humanity. She was a champion of equality and literacy. She was a picture of dignity, even when dressed outrageously. Anyone who seeks to be more like Dolly is on the right track, but they’ll never get to the finish line. She came from poverty to become the most important native of Tennessee. She shared her fortunes for the good of all of us, and shared her soul in every note she sang.”

Current-status note: The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum biography states that Parton was born January 19, 1946, and died August 25, 2026. This status reflects that institution’s page as captured for this article and may need rechecking if the article is revised later.
