Celebrity Net Worth’s list, accessed October 7, 2026, puts Kimbal Musk first at an estimated $1.7 billion, followed by Gordon Ramsay at $220 million. These are the publisher’s estimates—not audited disclosures or a definitive ranking of private wealth. The list also uses “chef” broadly enough to include restaurateurs and entrepreneurs, not only working cooks.
Celebrity Net Worth’s 10 richest chefs
The ranking below follows Celebrity Net Worth’s current Top 50 Richest Celebrity Chefs page, accessed October 7, 2026. Each figure is that publisher’s estimate. Because the list does not establish a common independent valuation method, treat the order as one publisher’s snapshot rather than a verified league table.

| 4 | Nobu Matsuhisa | $200 million | Celebrity Net Worth estimate. |

Why “richest chef” rankings differ
There is no single ranking established by these sources. Publishers may include different people and use different estimates, so rank and amount depend on the list being consulted.
- Who counts as a chef: Some lists include restaurant founders, food entrepreneurs, and media personalities alongside culinary professionals. Including people with substantial business or media identities can change the top positions.
- Individual or household wealth: Celebrity Net Worth explicitly reports Ina Garten’s figure together with her husband’s, so it is not an individual-only estimate.
- Estimate and date: The figures here are attributed to one publisher and its page as accessed October 7, 2026. The reviewed material does not establish audited personal-wealth figures or a transparent, independent valuation standard.
- Different lists, different order: A search-result summary of CEO Today’s 2025 estimates put Zhang Yong first, followed by Sam Prince and Alan Wong, with Kimbal Musk fourth and Ramsay fifth. The underlying page was not available for verification, so this is only a lower-confidence illustration of how rankings can vary.
What chef businesses can—and cannot—tell you about wealth
Celebrity chefs may have businesses spanning restaurants, television, books, endorsements, products, partnerships, or classes. Those activities help explain why the label can cover more than kitchen work, but revenue from a business is not the same as an individual’s net worth. The cited rankings do not show how much any one activity contributes to a person’s estimate.

- Winner of the 2009 James Beard Book Award for Best Book: Reference and Scholarship
Jamie Oliver’s official biography describes a broad commercial footprint: it says he has sold over 50 million books worldwide and published 28 cookery books, and notes that Eat Yourself Healthy was released in September 2025. It also describes restaurants, products, partnerships, cookery classes, and Ministry of Food activities. These examples illustrate the range of work associated with a celebrity-chef brand; they do not establish the value of Oliver’s assets or the share of his estimate attributable to any one venture.

- Use a single dated list rather than combining estimates from different publishers or years.
- Keep the publisher’s attribution attached to each dollar figure; do not present an estimate as an audited fact.
- Check whether the list means working chefs, chef-entrepreneurs, or a broader group of food personalities.
- Look for household figures, such as Garten’s combined estimate, before comparing individuals.
Time also matters. Celebrity Net Worth’s 2013 article ranked Jamie Oliver first at $200 million and Gordon Ramsay second at $120 million, with different estimates for Wolfgang Puck, Rachael Ray, and Emeril Lagasse. Those historical figures show that published estimates and rankings change; they should not be mixed into the 2026 list.
