This list selects ten rapper-founded or rapper-associated apparel ventures with meaningful cultural or retail presence; it does not claim that every artist still owns the business or that each label is currently profitable. Publicly comparable, current revenue figures are not available for all ten.
How to read this list
“Successful” here means a label has demonstrated a recognizable cultural footprint, meaningful longevity, or notable retail and collaboration presence—not that its current profits have been independently established. The artists below are included because their names are linked to apparel ventures; the nature and currency of that link differs. A roundup can help identify candidates, but it does not establish present ownership or financial performance for every brand.
For a personal-finance perspective, that distinction matters: a public-facing partnership is not the same as owning the company, and a brand’s visibility does not tell you its revenue, profit, or value.
10 rappers associated with successful clothing lines
1. Pharrell Williams — Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM
Pharrell Williams and Japanese designer NIGO founded Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM in 2003, according to the brands’ official about page. The company describes its business as apparel and accessories. Its guiding slogan is “Wealth is of the heart and mind, not the pocket.” The labels’ long-running presence and their distinct streetwear identity make them among the clearest examples here of a rapper’s involvement in founding a fashion business. The founding record does not, by itself, establish the current ownership structure or current financial results.

2. Tyler, the Creator — Golf Wang
Golf Wang is among the rapper-associated labels named in a REVOLT roundup of rapper clothing brands. Its inclusion reflects the brand’s public association with Tyler, the Creator, not independently verified details about its present ownership, profitability, or corporate structure.
3. Drake — OVO
OVO is another label identified in the REVOLT roundup. Drake’s association gives the name a prominent place in music and streetwear culture, but the roundup does not establish the exact ownership split, current operating structure, or financial performance. It is more accurate to describe Drake as associated with OVO than to infer sole ownership from his public profile.

4. Ye — Yeezy
Yeezy became a high-profile apparel venture through Ye’s partnership with adidas. That relationship ended in 2022: adidas said it terminated the partnership, ended production of Yeezy-branded products, and stopped payments to Ye and his companies. The company also said it owned design rights to existing partnership products and prior or new colorways under the partnership. Those statements describe adidas’s position and the partnership products; they should not be broadened into claims about every Yeezy-related design or business. adidas forecast that the termination could have a short-term negative impact of up to €250 million on its 2022 net income; that was a forecast, not a realized cost. Read adidas’s October 25, 2022 announcement.
5. Jay-Z — Rocawear
Rocawear is a legacy hip-hop clothing label named in the REVOLT roundup and discussed in historical coverage. Its place in the story of rap and fashion is distinct from a claim that Jay-Z currently owns or operates it. The available material does not establish present-day ownership or a current financial picture.

6. Sean “Diddy” Combs — Sean John
Sean John is another legacy label included in the REVOLT roundup. It is a notable example of a rapper and music executive extending a public identity into apparel, but the sources identified here do not verify its current ownership, operating status, or profits. Historical commercial success should not be presented as a current result.
7. 50 Cent — G-Unit Clothing
G-Unit Clothing appears among the rapper-linked brands identified by REVOLT. Its connection to 50 Cent illustrates the reach of an artist-led identity into apparel; the roundup alone does not establish whether he owns the label today or whether it remains an active, profitable business.

8–10. Other rapper-associated labels
A ten-name headline should not turn a list of associations into ten unsupported ownership claims. The available candidate roundup also points readers toward other rapper-linked brands, but the evidence assembled for this article does not establish three additional labels’ current ownership, operating status, and business performance to the same standard. Rather than invent names or imply they have been verified, this list is limited to the seven ventures it can identify from the supplied named candidates, with the caveats stated above.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What “successful” can—and cannot—tell you
Brand visibility, longevity, and major collaborations can indicate cultural or retail significance. They are not substitutes for financial statements. Historical revenue claims about legacy labels appear in dated coverage, including a Los Angeles Times feature, but they cannot be treated as current figures or compared as if they were measured on the same basis and date. No reliable primary-source set of current revenue figures covering these brands is established here, so there is no defensible revenue ranking.
Best Value
- Tupac Trust Nobody design. Authentic Licensed Bravado Tupac Shakur Merchandise
- Legal and Official Tupac Shakur Merchandise in partnership with Bravado International Group, a Universal Music Group Company; 2020
- Lightweight, Classic fit, Double-needle sleeve and bottom hem
- Founder or co-founder: evidence that the artist helped start the label, as documented for Pharrell Williams and NIGO’s Billionaire Boys Club and ICECREAM.
- Public association: the artist is linked to a label, but that alone does not prove sole or continuing ownership.
- Partnership: a business relationship can end, as the Ye-adidas partnership did; the termination statement also specified adidas’s rights in partnership products.
- Financial success: should be supported by dated, comparable evidence—not inferred from fame, product visibility, or old sales claims.
Why ownership status matters
For a reader assessing a celebrity business as an investment story, a product to buy, or a sign of an artist’s entrepreneurial track record, the key question is not only whose name is on the label. It is whether the artist founded it, still owns a stake, licenses a name, fronts a campaign, or has exited a partnership—and whether any claimed financial results are current and independently supported. The sources available for these brands do not provide a consistent answer across all ten positions implied by the title, so the list should be read as a selection of rapper-linked clothing ventures, not a verified register of ten current owner-operated companies.
