These 10 finance forums and online communities cover different needs: long-term investing, credit, UK money matters, financial independence, stock discussion, and finance careers. The list is curated, not ranked—there is no comparable popularity measure across them. Reddit communities are subreddits within a larger platform, not standalone message boards.
How to choose a finance forum
Start with the question you want to ask, then check whether a community’s focus and geographic context fit. A credit-report question may fit myFICO; a UK savings question may fit MoneySavingExpert; long-term investing approaches are a natural fit for Bogleheads; and investment-banking recruiting is a Wall Street Oasis topic. Those are matches to the communities’ published categories, not guarantees of answer quality.
- Topic: Look for a forum whose boards or recurring discussions address your question.
- Location: Money rules differ by country. Prefer a community oriented toward your jurisdiction for questions about local accounts, credit systems, taxes, and regulations.
- Format and depth: Message-board forums can support longer, organized threads; Reddit discussions are grouped by subreddit and may move quickly. Browse before posting to see which format suits you.
- Experience level: Some communities center on practical personal finance, while others focus on investing theory, trading, or industry careers.
Before posting, read the community rules and search for existing threads. Share only the context needed to explain your question; do not post account numbers, passwords, full credit reports, or other sensitive details. Treat replies as discussion, not individualized professional advice, and verify consequential tax, legal, credit, and investment claims through authoritative sources or a qualified professional.
10 finance forums and online communities
1. Bogleheads
Bogleheads is a volunteer-operated, moderated forum community focused on investing and personal finance. Its forum index separates personal investments, general investing theory and news, and non-investing personal finance, making it useful for readers comparing long-term approaches as well as handling broader money questions. The organization describes its forums as open and non-commercial. Its About page reports more than 130,000 registered members, more than seven million posts, about 2,000,000 monthly visits, and more than 22,000,000 pages read each month; these are organization-reported figures, not comparable rankings. Bogleheads also points readers to books including The Bogleheads’ Guide to Investing, which is a learning resource rather than a forum. Browse the forum index.

2. Wall Street Oasis
Wall Street Oasis is geared toward finance careers and industry discussion. Its forums cover investment banking, trading, private equity and venture capital, hedge funds, equity research, asset management, and related career paths. The site also lists career services and training, so it is a different kind of destination from a general household-budgeting forum. Its About page reports more than 3,000,000 posts and over 5 million page views a month; these site-presented figures are not a like-for-like measure against other communities. Visit the forums.
3. myFICO Forums
For credit questions, myFICO’s forums include credit-focused discussions as well as a personal-finance board. The latter covers topics such as retirement, banking, budgeting, personal loans, and credit-card debt, so readers can also browse adjacent household-finance issues. Browse myFICO Forums.

4. MoneySavingExpert Forum
MoneySavingExpert’s forum is UK-oriented and covers savings and everyday money topics, including banking, borrowing, credit cards, loans, budgeting, and credit files. Its categories make it a more relevant starting point than a US-centric forum for questions tied to UK financial products or credit files. Visit the MoneySavingExpert Forum.
5. Money Mustache Community
The Money Mustache Community is centered on financial independence. Its Investor Alley section is for questions about wealth and income, including stocks, bonds, and other financial instruments. It may suit readers who want to discuss investing as part of a broader financial-independence plan. Browse Investor Alley.

8. Reddit r/stocks
r/stocks is oriented toward stock-market discussion. The subreddit was included in historical research on major finance communities, but current membership and activity are not established by that study.
9. Reddit r/wallstreetbets
r/wallstreetbets is associated with high-volume, speculative-trading-oriented conversation. Research on finance subreddits identifies it as a major community, but the study’s dataset ends in 2022 and cannot establish its current scale or activity. The communities above use different formats and publish different kinds of audience figures. Bogleheads and Wall Street Oasis publish organization-reported totals, while the cited subreddit study is historical and covers posts through 2022. Those figures do not measure the same thing, share a common date, or support a current leaderboard. Forum categories, moderation, activity, and offerings can also change, so check each official site for current details.
