10 Celebrity-Founded Fashion Brands—and What “Owned” Really Means

Ten fashion labels linked to celebrities—and a clear distinction between being a founder, co-founder, creative lead, and current owner.

Celebrity fashion brands range from founder-led labels to businesses where a star is one of several co-founders or a creative partner. The ten examples below are associated with celebrity founders or co-founders, but available sources do not establish that every celebrity currently owns a majority stake—or that every older label is still active in 2026. A founder credit, design role, or name on a label is not proof of present-day equity ownership.

What “celebrity-owned” means in this list

The phrase “fashion brands owned by celebrities” is often used loosely. It can describe a business a celebrity founded, a company they co-founded with an entrepreneur, or a label where they have a public creative role. Those relationships are not interchangeable, and none alone confirms a current controlling stake. The sources available for these ten labels do not provide comparable ownership percentages.

This is therefore a list of celebrity-founded or co-founded fashion brands, not a verified ranking of current celebrity ownership. Current product and operating details are clearest for some labels; older editorial coverage supports several other founder associations but does not establish their 2026 status.

Ten celebrity fashion brands and the people behind them

1. Savage X Fenty — Rihanna

Savage X Fenty’s About page identifies Rihanna as its founder and dates the brand’s establishment to 2018. The label offers lingerie, everyday basics, men’s essentials, sleepwear, loungewear, and bridal styles. It is separate from Fenty Beauty, which is a beauty business, not this fashion label; the distinction is also made in the Fenty Beauty FAQ.

2. SKIMS — Kim Kardashian, Emma Grede, and Jens Grede

Kim Kardashian is a SKIMS co-founder and chief creative officer; she is not the only founder named in the available coverage. Vogue identifies Emma Grede as a founding partner and chief product officer and identifies Jens Grede in the founding team. SKIMS currently describes its assortment as underwear, clothing, and shapewear on its official storefront. A 2026 Nike announcement documents the NikeSKIMS collaboration. A collaboration does not establish Kardashian’s ownership share or make Nike the owner of SKIMS.

3. Good American — Khloé Kardashian and Emma Grede

Good American was co-founded by Khloé Kardashian and Emma Grede; Vogue identifies Grede as co-founder and CEO. The label was described as a size-inclusive denim line in a 2020 Glamour roundup. That launch-era description should not be treated as a complete account of current sizing or assortment without checking live product listings.

4. Fabletics — Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson is identified as a Fabletics co-founder in the same Glamour coverage. Fabletics’ current About page describes its business as activewear and lifestyle apparel. The co-founder credit does not show that Hudson is its sole or majority owner.

5. Draper James — Reese Witherspoon

Draper James identifies Reese Witherspoon as its founder, dates the brand to 2015, and displays a Fall ’26 collection on its official site. Its business includes women’s clothing and lifestyle goods. Witherspoon describes her original aim as building a lifestyle brand with clothes that were “special but not precious, easy to put together and always polished.”

6. The Row — Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen founded The Row in 2006, according to British Vogue. The label is known as a luxury fashion house. The cited coverage establishes the sisters’ founder relationship, but does not disclose their current equity shares.

7. Victoria Beckham

Gap Inc. describes the Victoria Beckham fashion house as founded in 2008 and announced a multi-season collaboration for 2026 in its company announcement. The fashion house and the Gap collaboration are distinct: a capsule collection does not mean Beckham owns Gap or establish the fashion house’s current ownership structure.

8. SJP Collection — Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker’s SJP Collection is described in British Vogue and Glamour as a shoe label launched in 2014. Those sources provide historical context, not proof that the label remains commercially active or that Parker retains an ownership stake in 2026.

9. Jessica Simpson Collection — Jessica Simpson

Glamour’s 2020 roundup describes the Jessica Simpson Collection as an eponymous line launched with shoes in 2006 and later extended into other fashion categories. That historical coverage does not establish its current product assortment or Simpson’s present ownership.

How the ten labels differ

The list spans several parts of fashion, from luxury clothing to lingerie and sportswear. The comparison below describes documented positioning and founder roles; it is not a quality, fit, or value ranking.

Label Documented celebrity role Category or positioning supported by sources
Savage X Fenty Rihanna, founder Lingerie, basics, men’s essentials, sleepwear, loungewear, and bridal styles
SKIMS Kim Kardashian, co-founder and chief creative officer Underwear, clothing, and shapewear
Good American Khloé Kardashian and Emma Grede, co-founders Denim line described as size-inclusive at launch in 2020
Fabletics Kate Hudson, co-founder Activewear and lifestyle apparel
Draper James Reese Witherspoon, founder Women’s clothing and lifestyle goods
The Row Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, founders Luxury fashion
Victoria Beckham Founded by Victoria Beckham, according to Gap Inc. Fashion house; a separate 2026 Gap collaboration was announced
SJP Collection Sarah Jessica Parker, label associated with her Shoe label launched in 2014, according to older editorial coverage
Jessica Simpson Collection Jessica Simpson, eponymous label associated with her Shoe line at launch, later described as spanning other fashion categories
House of Harlow Nicole Richie, label associated with her Fashion line in earlier celebrity-brand coverage

Current prices, distribution, full size ranges, and comparable fit or quality data are not established across these sources. Product listings can change, and there is no independent garment testing here to justify ranking one label above another.

What to check before treating a celebrity label as an investment story

A celebrity founder can help explain a brand’s identity, but it says little on its own about the business’s financial health or who owns it today. For a personal-finance reader evaluating a company rather than shopping a collection, keep the distinctions clear:

  • Founder is not the same as majority owner. A founder credit documents a role at the company’s creation, not a current equity percentage.
  • Creative leadership is not proof of control. A public-facing design or creative role does not establish voting rights, ownership, or decision-making authority over every business function.
  • Collaboration is not acquisition. The NikeSKIMS and Gap–Victoria Beckham announcements describe partnerships, not a change in ownership.
  • Historical coverage can outlast a business. For SJP Collection, Jessica Simpson Collection, and House of Harlow, the cited editorial material does not verify current operations or ownership.

For a reliable ownership answer, look for recent company filings or direct company disclosures that identify the legal entity, shareholders, or transaction terms. A brand website’s founder biography may establish who started a label, but it is not a substitute for ownership records.
